people who say ‘anxiety and depression are well recognized in the public eye and therefore shouldn’t be in the mental health community’ piss me off. they’re like the people who say we dont need feminism anymore bc in most developed countries women can vote. guess what bucko, we still need feminism. sure, anxiety and depression have made great strides in social acceptance in some ways but there is still so much to do and im sorry but if you think anxiety or depression deserve any less attention, representation, or resources than any other illness you’re wrong.
