Stop substitution blanket statements...
I’m sure someone will get their panties in a bunch over this. Oh well.
Could ppl pls stop blanket statements on substitutions. Seriously? Context is everything!!! Not everything can be substituted willy-nilly. You have to know what you’re dealing with. Traditional spells are traditional for a reason and with them, you should try really damn hard to stick to the script. There are younglings on here that do not realize that. Context. Context. Context. I hate to burst anyones delusional bubble, but, for instance… Much like I can’t piss in a jar and make you believe it’s lemonade once you’ve tasted it… If you’re doing a spell (or curse esp) and it calls for a lock of hair from your target…. THIS ISN’T INTO THE WOODS. You can’t just substitute it with cornsilk. You also shouldn’t substitute it with your own. THAT would be disasterous. With curses/protection spells requiring you to bury on property… in some cases that is due to PROXIMITY … a jar in your house with their name on it, unless they share a bedroom with you, for THAT particular spell, it will not work. If you need graveyard dirt…. no. A jar of mom’s topsoil with a nail from lowes is not the same thing no matter your intention. If graveyard dirt is REQUIRED from tradition with an older spell and YOU CAN’T GET IT….. used a different spell!!! There’s THOUSANDS out there. Stop being stubborn and whiny ppl! Waaa fricken waaa. Spell #109846 isn’t in the cards for me. So what?!?!?! Are we that damn lazy???
Not everything in the craft is easy. That’s just the way it is. Suck it up Buttercup Bc it’s not going to suddenly get easier just Bc you cry about it.

I had an amazing birthday today filled with history, an aura reading, and maybe even a few ghost stories. It was so nice getting to spend the day with my dad. He got me a beautiful flourite necklace, too. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday.

It was so weird!! Like I went in to see prices to see about getting a reading for myself. I was looking at the prices and they were more than I knew I could talk my dad into (he was paying, it's my birthday) so I said "wow" quietly to myself and the woman kinda smiled and asked me what. I told her I was a reader as well and she instantly asked me what deck I used. I told her and she asked me how it worked to which I told her I read in a kind of "non traditional" way but it tended to give me more accurate readings. She then asked me about doing readings on the weekends for her. I was floored... I told her I hadn't been reading long and wasn't sure how comfortable I was with it, to which she told me to give her my name and number anyway, take her card, and that I had a good aura.
I'm still kind of in shock.
I just got a job offer doing tarot readings? I mean it would be AWESOME but I’m so new at reading… She heard how I read and asked me a few questions then took my name and number.

My family is in a serious serious financial crisis right now... Any help is so appreciated.
Witchy Shop
Please check out my witchy shop. I’m in a not so great financial place right now. I have medical bills to pay off, I just started a new job so my next paycheck isn’t a full one, and I’m trying to go back to school in three weeks.
My shop can be found here.
I have three different things listed so far.
Protection Charms:
Tumblr media
These little jars are $12 for the small, $14 for the medium, and $16 for the large. They are made with my own protection herb mix. They are easily carried in a pocket or purse. They can be found here.
Protection Necklaces:
Tumblr media
These necklaces include a scroll with the name of the intended on it. They are no longer made with this twine, but rather a lighter, white twine that is much more comfortable than what is pictured. I just haven’t had a chance to get new pictures yet. These are $10 and can be found here.
Horse Tarot Spread:
Tumblr media
This is an 11 card spread that I created. The breakdown of the spread is found within the Etsy listing. This reading is $20 and can be found here.
Please, please check these out and share it. I know not everyone can afford to buy anything, and I know that there are people that won’t even want to. I just ask that you please share this and help a struggling witch out.
Thank you!
Love always

My signifier in my deck. This card only ever means me when drawn, and, my deck being the smart ass it is, can be very ironic in it’s way of showing it. (I once did a reading for a friend of her past, present, future, and her present was this card talking about the literal present of me doing her reading).

Originally to be attached to post where someone was being an arrogant ass about cultural appropriation but OP was deleted... surprise surprise...
Does anyone else see how this PC thing is getting a tad out of hand? Cultural appropriation is “everywhere” yet the PC Police pick and choose their crusades. How convenient. Anyone can get offended by whatever. That’s just the way it is. If we are gonna throw stones at each other…
If you are not Egyptian and you have an Eye of Ra tattoo… cultural appropriation… Celtic cross and you’re not Irish, Catholic, etc… cultural appropriation… If you aren’t affiliated with any religious sect that uses such and you have a crucifix … cultural appropriation… white chicks with your dreamcatchers… cultural appropriation… the German/Russian/American/Etc that goes to a Dia de los Muertos parade and places marigolds at a grave… cultural appropriation… and of course NO ONE better put chili pepper in their hot cocoa… I’m sorry, we could keep going, but a lot of it is pretty ridiculous and this is clearly an effort to show just how ridiculous it can become. Yes, I am aware that not all of these examples are “closed” culture related, but that’s not the point. The point is that it’s everywhere and it’s in everything. I don’t take ppl seriously when they pick and chose what is offensive and what isn’t when by definition, it is all equal.
On a personal note…
Cultures have been mixed for ages. SOME have BLOODLINES intermixed. SOME have lines that unfortunately got watered down over several generations due to varied circumstance …
For instance, I take it offensively when someone tells me that I can’t say smudging. When ppl throw out closed culture statements to look like the soapbox hero and yet they look like ME(caucasian), I laugh and roll my eyes. (To the ppl that rant just to rant and have no stake in the subject… Go find another cause. You’re arguments are hollow bc you lack understanding and all you do is regurgitate what someone else has already said.)
I have Cherokee heritage. I am VERY proud of that. I always have been. I have had a great fascination with Native American culture and a great respect for the ppl. It’s rich and beautiful and I love that my bloodlines are mixed with a tribe. But there are those that say I don’t matter Bc in this life I was not raised BY the tribe. I had no ancestor to teach me anything. So what??? Now I’m insignificant??? Well ppl on tumblr say so and it gets reblogged into oblivion so it MUST be true… F*** you! MY Native American ancestors are dead! They were all dead by the time I was born. Why do I not have a connection to a tribe??? Bc of a few shitty white ppl in my distant family that wanted to erase my lineage and pull away from it due to racism and fear. But you’re gonna say I can’t choose to honor those lost by learning and practicing what little I can? Again. F*** you. I’m sick of seeing all this PC BS. So guess what… I SMUDGE. I do the best that I can and that is just going to have to suffice until someone is willing to look past my watered down history and teach me how with traditional accuracy. That may never happen, so be it, but I’m not editing my content anymore for the self-empowered PC Police.
Side note: If you piss off another in a culture by misrepresenting the culture or doing something inaccurate … gee… be a f***ing human and APOLOGISE!!! But to the pissed off soul, for the sake of all humanity, do NOT turn around and crucify the poor bastard Bc they were wrong. EITHER EDUCATE OR WALK AWAY. It’s your choice. But to bash someone for wanting to grasp onto what little history they have is a shit thing to do. And you’re a shit person to tell them they aren’t relevant Bc they don’t have an established tribe they belong to. I seriously doubt that assholery is part of your ancestral heritage.
I, like many, have multiple bloodlines. German, British, Polish, French and Native American. I have family crests and shields that can be traced to the vikings and to knights of King Richard. I have a family name that can be traced back to the Templar’s. AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO INCORPORATE ANYTHING I DAMN WELL PLEASE FROM ANY OF THOSE BLOOD TIES INTO MY PRACTICE. Now go ahead tumblr community and do what you do… send on the hate so I can easily identify the assholes that are simply that, the lemmings that blindly follow them and the illiterate/lazy that will blast on half-cocked when they haven’t even read this entire post… or better yet, be a pussy and respond ANON. smh…

Ahh, I have to find out how close this is to me...
HEY PENNSYLVANIA WITCHES!
Just a friendly reminder - I’m going to be at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire at the Mount Hope Winery the first or second weekend in October.
If you purchase a copy of the Grimmoire and bring it with you to the grounds, I will sign it for you! :)
(And I might be carrying some witchy goodies to give away, you never know.)

People talk a lot about how Harry Potter taught them about friendship and bravery and love overcoming evil etc and of course I think that’s very important but like…
Harry Potter also taught an entire generation of kids that the news media can’t always be trusted to tell the truth, that the government can often be corrupt or incompetent, that the legal system isn’t always right, that the people in power don’t always have your best interests at heart. That bad things sometimes happen to good people, that your heroes aren’t always as perfect as you think they are, that even those with the best intentions can be wrong, that everyone can make mistakes and that often in order to make things right it takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice.
…and I think in a way that’s every bit as important as the more positive messages.
