December 2024 Update
Well, it's no secret that I missed the November update entirely… Life is crazy. I was not prepared for crazy. But, what I am prepared for is the December 17th update for Tales from Asveria!
Not much has happened, as I've been busy, mostly some more fine tuning. I'm still deciding whether this is going to be a comic or a book or some fusion of both, and experimenting with book titles. I have a three-book plan, and I'm thinking the first book will be something along the lines of "Tales from Asveria; of Asters and Heroes."
Maybe put that second part in a nice lil subtitle…
I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to write as my name yet! For Social Media purposes, I'm just Bread, no fancy cheese yet. I was going for this whole "look at me I'm a little company" thing, but I'm definitely gonna need to work on my branding. I think for December, my goal is to create a new logo or symbol and figure out what exactly "RockBreadFantasy" even is. A secondary goal is to make tertiary goals and so on… Let's actually cover that right now. Yup. RIGHT now.
DECEMBER 2024: Making goals (actively right now) and working on rebranding
JANUARY 2025: Creating art references for characters + Polishing prologue again
FEBRUARY 2025: New content will begin, and drafts of art will be catalogued for future reference
MARCH 2025: Book 25% written, all rough (very rough) sketches finished
APRIL 2025: All sketches ever so slightly worked on, lots of plot planning
MAY 2025: Book 50% written. Final decision on which sketches will be included, along with some bonus art released for funsies
JUNE 2025: Bonus art, sneak peaks, Q&As, and a website I hope!
JULY 2025: Book 75% written. All line art completed.
AUGUST 2025: Lots and lots of planning, things will be quiet :)
SEPTEMBER 2025: Book 100% written, editing begins. All art will be finished (I hope) and announcements start
OCTOBER 2025: The book will be released, and the release date of physical books will be announced!!!
It's very tentative, and I was supposed to have more done by now, but I really want to make this project a reality. This update was a lot of the technical stuff, but to anyone who may or may not read this, stay tuned for next month's update, which will involve more art, and more of Yuna's story :)

Coming Soon
I have always wanted to tell a story, as soon as possible, as fast as possible. Year after year, I say "this is the one," with never enough time to complete. And so, I have decided it is not time, it's not time at all. So, I present, coming October 17th of 2025, the prologue to "Tales from Asveria." A small piece of the story, while I take the time to complete it properly,
"Every person's life is full of stories. I could tell you how any of the four continents of Materra came to be, or the story of the Great Mother Dragon. I could tell you how the love of my life was put into an eternal slumber, how my body became separated from my soul when I saved her… Or, I could tell you about the day that changed the course of history, the day that set into motion a series of events that could not be stopped, the very same events that would lead to the youngest descendants of the Alumina family changing the world as I knew it.
I was watching that day, as the family packed up their bags. I felt a tug on my heartstrings as Yunanisoa sealed up the final box in her room, hair tied up for the first time since she was young, and as she spun around and admired the empty room. The shelves had been given to the neighbors, the bedframe donated to a care center, and only the shutters were left hanging for the next occupants of the house. Some people imagined a family of Reptillians with draconic blood would travel a lot, but these were the descendants of the Sanasfla, known for never leaving their home island, until the day there was only one left. Seeing the family move from their home of nearly two decades was shocking, but I understood why it was time for them to go.
The Great Asterian caverns were exactly what they sounded like, great, wondrous caverns underground. They had an atmospheric beauty like none other, with a tight-knit population of Reptillians, Elves, and Fairies. There were many benefits to living there, but those benefits almost entirely applied to their parents. The kids were running out of opportunities, both finished with school, and being in a place where they were cut off from the majority of the outside world… There was only so much room to grow. So, they were setting out for the capital of the country; Virami.
Virami was considered to be one of the most well-built, diverse, and powerful cities in "Asteria," placed directly in the center of the small continent. Despite the size of their guard, it was considered–at the time–to be the most peaceful city in the entire continent. All were welcome, with special paths for avian and aquatic citizens, districts of the city with nocturnal and light-sensitive species kept in mind, and regardless of where you'd come from, there was always work. There were enough educational institutes that career paths became practically endless, so it was the perfect place for Calla and Kaiden to take their oldest children to explore their options.
The Alumina family was quite small, all things considered. Being from a line of dragons, the youngest generation was the fifth, with three children, two of them being Yunanisoa and Ronansi. The fourth generation, not counting those that married into the family, only had two people–Callasania, and her much younger sister, Sylvanna. The third generation only had one person, Zinnia. Although I wish it wasn't so, the second generation was almost forgotten, and the first generation was practically a fable. There were a few who joined into the family, as I mentioned. Kaiden, who married Calla, and Alice, who didn't quite marry Sylvanna, but their life-long partnership was something very close. And, though Zinnia had never before found true love, long after she had Calla, she met an ordinary Reptillian named Hank, and fell head over heels, marrying them immediately and travelling the world with them.
After sealing everything up with tape, Yunanisoa carried box after box out from her old room, loading them into a familiar-drawn wagon. I knew it was almost time for them to go. Though I could not speak to the family from the caverns, the dense vegetation above ground allowed me more room, and I'd be able to deliver a final message. A smile crossed my face, as I took one last look at them all.
Ronansi was being light-heartedly lectured by Calla, while Kaiden was trying to arrange boxes properly, even as more were added to the pile. Before long, Sylvanna and Alice burst in, congratulating them on the move and helping with the remainder of the boxes. Yunanisoa was given the last task of the day, taking down each picture frame one by one, and placing them in a box of fragile items. She looked at the family portrait, hesitant to put it away for even a short time, and I shared the sentiment, remembering a time when the younger generations could all be seen in one place. The city would surely bring more changes than they’d ever thought possible, and I was absolutely certain of the things going through her head in that moment. She was wondering what the new city would hold for her and her family, wondering if the past could be mended, and hoping the future was as bright as she'd always hoped.
In less than a day, the family would arrive in Virami. Of course, they would all miss the caverns, but only four of them remained in the Great Caverns, and the time had come to broaden their horizons. A change was here, and they were certain they were ready for this great new world they'd soon become a part of.
Not one of them knew, yet, just how drastic the changes would be."
A story about many things, but mainly, it's about a magical lizard-dragon girl going on an adventure, getting way in over her head with some mildly spooky themes! A book? A comic? I'm not quite sure yet, maybe both. Stay tuned to find out, with progress updates on the 17th of every month :)

Fear of Lasagna Crime Scheme,
by Bread
"What could it mean? What does it mean?
Round and round the graveyard shift, the smell, the smell, it always drifts...
Around your mind, confusing clouds... Lasagna crime has made its rounds.
And when we strike the waking hour, all confused and loss of pow'r,
We smell that whimsical smell again,
Lasagna crime is here within."

Not what Bloofred expected. These babies have had all smell of other dragons washed off of them... Are they abandoned? He doesn't know how to be a father! But the babies look very scared, and very weak... Somebody had to help them out.

Samathy is very fast and very poorly drawn. Hey, he actually lives in normal earth places! And uh... Where are his legs? I thought he had legs? Oh well, guess we'll find out!

This is Bloofred! He's a funky little sea dragon. He's roughly 120 years old, which for a dragon of his kind, he'll be a young adult for another 380 years. He's been searching for another of his kind, without knowing he is one of the last. He lives far, far below the surface, near the ocean floor, but when he realized there were no dragons there anymore, he began to seek higher altitudes. He was aware there was a surface, but he had no clue he was so close, when he heard a response to his desperate call...

This is Gorothy! She's a very motherly dragon, and up until now, she raised her three babies in peace, up in their high-cliff nest. That was until the storm knocked down the babies only hours after their hatching, whilst Gorothy was searching for food. For a week, she's been searching for her babies. She howls, roars into the distance...
...Maybe something will howl back.
