as a cis guy, when presented with the "99% you get a ton of money, 1% you turn into a girl" it honestly would be dumb to not hit that button until it breaks. like ok now i have 100 bajillion dollars and gender dysphoria. big deal. i have all the money in the world to turn me back into a guy. like with that kind of money i could have obama do me a phalloplasty. he wouldnt be able to do it as he isnt a surgeon but the point still stands

“Kiss me, Jimmy,” the words are barely a ghost of breath. Tango's not sure Jimmy would hear them if they were any further apart.

He hears Jimmy’s breath catch, a soft sound deep in his throat. He thinks that if Jimmy doesn’t kiss him, he might die. Might keel over and breathe his last citrus-scented breath right in his best friend’s bedroom.

He’s too young to die, at least before kissing the boy he’s in love with. Surely he’s got to at least get that on his last day on earth.

“Of course,” Jimmy says, and Tango shivers.

Literally obsessed with Life Series Lizzie. I've rambled about it before, but I feel like she's always treated like a background character in her own life, like collateral for other people's stories.

She's killed to alleviate the curse of others multiple times in Last Life, her forest burns for the crimes of another person, and her final life is taken unceremoniously with no real chance to fight back as part of an unrelated person's arc. Like Lizzie could have been anyone else in the world. Like she's barely even there.

Lizzie is literally living someone else's life in Limited Life, temporarily placed into another person's body, not an entity unto herself, but an extension of Pearl. The fact that this happened specifically when Pearl was the boogeyman feels symbolically relevant too.

And Secret Life. Nobody comes to her party, they all forgot. Jimmy kills her without even knowing who she is. Lizzie dies trying to complete Joel's task, and her death is made all about Jimmy, about him escaping the curse, as if Lizzie was just a vessel for his escape.

Then there's Wild Life. Between Skizz slaughtering her for more lives (which lizzie never got her revenge for) and Lizzie losing her final life literally voiceless (because she had the robot voice punishment) as collateral in Grians 'revenge' against Jimmy, the pattern continues.

And there's this really fascinating symbolism of almost ritualistic cleansing with Lizzie.

I mean, just go through it all. She's killed multiple times (and attacked more times) to cure people of the boogeyman curse, her forest is burned in symbolic retribution for something she didn't even do herself, Bdubs murders her as part of a test that had nothing to do with her (it literally could have been anybody), she's brought back as an extension of someone else (literally in their life and body) to cure them of the boogeyman curse, then in the next season she gets to be herself in she dies for someone else's task and her death is celebrated for "curing" Jimmy, and then again in Secret Life she's killed for time and then as collateral?

Lizzie is both scapegoat and sacrificial lamb, her suffering avenges the wrongs of others, her death brings freedom and health to those around her, it's ritual, she could have been anyone, because the 'important' thing never seems to be Lizzie, she can never be the focus, no, the important thing is always the way other people are vindicated or liberated through Lizzie.

And unlike other characters (*cough* scott *cough*) who I associate with this kind of sacrifice, none of this is willing on Lizzie's part! There is no silver lining or empowerment of choice in Lizzie's role! And there's consistently so much grief and rage in Lizzie, grief and rage that she's never given an opportunity to avenge, and nobody ever seems to care because in universe Lizzie's suffering is so thoroughly viewed through the deliverance it brings other people!

Sorry I'm just literally so abnormal about Lizzie I want her to win so bad I want her to kill people I love her.
