“i dunno, it might just be because he’s an actual caterpillar. i mean, in wonderland that’s all he is. but me, i look human in wonderland, it’s just that i’m a cat. here, i can actually change into a cat. my transformation ability will disappear when i get back home, but it’s pretty cool to be able to do.”

“oh i see. so... you’re a cat who looks human? but you can’t transform? how does that work, exactly?”

rogue nodded and smiled a little.  ❝ forgive the personal question but... if you don’t drink, what’re you doing here? ❞ letting out a chuckle, she shook her head.  ❝ no, i’m not waiting for someone. i just... i wanted a drink and to get to know this place a little better, you know? i thought this would be a good way to do so. ❞

Pietro didn’t realise how much he missed the comfort of others. Without Wanda he was alone. He was never alone. She wasn’t here, but he was no longer alone, he had Marie now. Yes, he could disappear any day, he was unsure how he was even here in the first place, but he was happy when he was with her. He hurt less. Pietro smiled, he planted a soft kiss on the top of her hood, where the top of her head was. “Exactly. We’re one of a kind Marie.” Pietro didn’t care about the lack of contact, he just wanted to be around her, be WITH her. Pietro shrugged. “It’s nothing. I don’t want you to have to suffer alone, so I thought I’d see how hard it is. We can be the gloves couple, the two weirdos in the street who wear long gloves in the middle of the summer.” He grinned, nudging her gently.

Rogue’s eyes fluttered shut at the kiss, bunching his shirt into her hands. She couldn’t help but smile at his actions. How he made her feel was beyond compare. She let out a soft sigh and looked up at him again. “One of a kind, huh? How very romantic.” Rogue teased before taking the gloves into her hands and admiring them. She chuckled to herself. “We’re a couple now are we?” She asked, all but grinning as she handed them back carefully. “You sure you wanna get sweaty hands in gloves just so you can hold my hand?”

rogue nodded in agreement. she smiled softly then before shrugging.  ❝ sure, why not? there’s nothing stranger than drinking alone. ❞ she teased and let out a laugh.  ❝ cocktails are nice. uh... i can’t say i’ve tried many. ❞

“Time to put your skills to the test then Marie.” Pietro teased, he leaned against the side rather high and mighty, assured that he would win. Though, when she managed to knock four bottles over his expression soon changed, his jaw dropped and he felt betrayed by his skills. A simple shrug of his shoulders changed his expression again, the usual cheeky grin back upon his lips. “Yeah, well. I let you win of course.” Pietro chuckled, sending her a small wink. “I’m impressed Marie, even if I was going easy on you.”

Rogue cocked a brow teasingly. She smirked a little at his reaction to her win. “Aha, of course you were! You couldn’t possibly have lost naturally. You were letting me win.” She teased, smiling at him. She shook her head crossed her arms with a playful smile. “You gonna show me how it’s really done now?”

Pietro continued to glace cautiously over the edge. So many different outcomes to this popped into his head. Maybe he really did get on Marie’s nerves and this was just the easiest way she could get rid of him? “what do you mean hold tig-AGRH!?” Pietro closed his eyes recoiling into himself a long, loud yelling continued as he ‘fell’… Except, it took a little to long to simply… fall. His eyes opened carefully and a shocked shiver ran through his body. “What!?” Pietro cried out, his heart beating violently in his chest, he was running off adrenaline. “This is so fucking cool!” he tried to stay as still as he could, but it was hard for him, he didn’t feel right without his feet being firmly planted on the ground, but this was certainly cool. “I hope you know how to land. As cool as this is I have a loving relationship with the floor.”

Rogue had really grown to enjoy this new power now that she could control it. She’d been flying around for a while, making sure it was safe before she brought Pietro out on the trip like this. She giggled to herself as he spoke. “Of course I know how to land! I’ve been sneaking out pretty much every night to practise!” She grinned, shaking her head. Rogue had a rather smug smile on her face before she flew down to her favourite spot, putting Pietro back on his feet. She however stayed somewhat floating in the air as she looked down at him. “See?”

rogue nodded and offered a grin. “of course it’s special! it really suits you.” rogue chuckled. although she may not have been a dress person herself ( mostly because of her powers and the flesh dresses showed was often dangerous ) she did believe in compliments where they were due. “really? well, i think you look beautiful!”

“ Exactly, I bet we’re going to get along great Ro, and trust me I know..it can be kind of disorientating I mean. I’m from 1989 which is a hell of a lot different than 2017 let me tell you. But it grows on you.” She replied. “ So, I was thinking we could have it outside like in the middle of where the buildings meet.”

“ I have to agree with you there. You are? Wow that’s a bit of a gap between the two. Was it hard to get used to how different everything is? ” She questioned, a little intrigued by how everyone else was settling in. Rogue nodded with a smile. “ That sounds perfect! We can get a gazebo or something in case the weather takes a turn. ”
