The one thing

Actually, theyre more than one.

Those things that are hurting me when I come to face them in situations, I hate to speak about them again and again.

They say, speak what hurt you, speak what you do not like... Not until it keeps happening. Things are not changing.

And when things are not changing, you initiate the change instead,

Probably your mindset,

Probably the hype of your emotions, lower it down..

tbh i dont know anymore at times whats more in there to change.

I hate it when people just dont try to understand me in a deeper way.

Coz I do.

Or am I just being selfish?

Sa presensya ng kaibigan, sa ganda ng mundong aking nasisilayan, sa gabing tahimik, tila nakalma pa rin ang puso kong sawi.

Matinding taon,

Higit kalahati ng taon,

Umasa ako,

At tila bang kasalanan ang ibigin ang taong ' 'yon' .

Napahanga na lang rin ako, at natanong "Paano kinaya at kinakaya ng Hesus na mahalin ang mga taong di man lang Siya kayang mahalin pabalik?"

Kasi ang sakit.

At natapos ang kwentuhan,

Na may walang katapusan na katanungan ang isip.

Mananatili na lamang... Sa pagtitiwala.

No "I love you too" at all times

Growing up in a traditional Filipino family, like how my tatay always tell me, "impluwensya lang ng mga kano 'yan". It is a not a thing for us to show some love language in the form of words of affirmation (there are 5 love languages fyi!).

In our family, a "thank you" is done by paying it forward or by doing the best you can in that whatever you are given with;

"sorry" is said in actions, by approaching someone first, talking like nothing happened and not to make the same mistake again;

And an "i love you" is like a rare occasion. I don't know when or how but I said these words on my graduation day, birthdays, father/mother's day... In letters. Literally, written on a paper. You just don't say it out loud or we'll creep out. Kind of.

But I grew older. I met a lot more people who I now consider my second family- my friends, churchmates - and these are variation of love language and mostly they say "I love you" verbally.

Tonight, while on my resting mode, my saturday-no-work-only-chill night, someone popped from my messenger notification, we're actually discussing something and in the end of conversation, this ate said "love you!" and I seen-ed. I am not in the mood to say "love you TOO" when i dont mean it... When i am in this robot state of heart.

Minutes later, since overthinking is the best-est skill I ever had,

I doubted myself.

I asked myself,

"is love for me really based on emotions?"

I could have said I love you too back.

I need not to excuse myself for being 'not in the mood' and that 'i dont mean it' or 'i dont feel like saying it'. If not now, when? What are the moments or situation that would get me in the mood to say I love you back that I truly mean? - that is, if love for me is really based on what I feel.

But LOVE is unconditional.

Getting to know God day by day,

Being with the right people,

This is what i learn daily.

You love despite bad situations. You love even when you dont feel the hype of your emotions anymore. You love at all times and not only when you wanted. It aint selfish. It aint one-sided. This is mutual and not only meets the need of the other but each other's. Whether it is a platonic love or erotic love, it is never conditional. And it shouldnt.

Maybe in a worldy basis? Yes, conditional. But knowing this one true love... Agape. Our God who himself is the LOVE, I have known that it is unconditional. He keeps no record of our wrongs. (1 corinthians 13)

Love is patient, love is kind.

Say i love you too. At all times.

Fine, maybe not verbally, but do it and prove it in your heart. The Lord looks after our hearts anyway.
