During my recent trip to Perlis - the northernmost state of Malaysia, I saw and tasted Buah Kerdas for the first time. These stinky beans can be eaten raw or incorporated into sambal, and they have pungent flavours similar to Petai. Is there anything better than buttered toasts sopped in runny eggs? 馃い I wanted a quick one-pan breakfast, so I grabbed two slices of whole wheat bread and smothered them with pure olive butter before crisping them on a pan. Next I cracked two eggs and when they were done at the bottom but still runny on top, I sprinkled some oregano, black pepper and salt. This smoothie bowl combo is super yummy and you need to try it ASAP! It鈥檚 just frozen banana + red dragon fruit blended together then topped with passion fruit, healthy seeds and nuts, and homemade granola (toss together rolled oats, wheat germs, brown sugar, coconut oil and pumpkin seeds and pop them into the oven). Warm Apple Pockets 馃崕 The lockdown has made me realised how much I wanted to have a loving husband and family of my own. Imagine being able to spend the entire precious month with them (which is otherwise impossible as a working adult). Imagine being able to cook their favourite dishes and watch their faces light up as they eat. Imagine being able to continue to foster bonds and deepen the intimacy with those you truly love and care for. The current pandemic has been catastrophic, but for the rest of us, it has been a blessing and the onliest opportunity to get closer to our families.
