I stand in solidarity for all my AAPI friends and loved ones. We all need to do better in calling out hateful speech and biases. We need to also recognize, learn and grow from our own biases. Take time to pause and listen. Take time for some self-reflection. We are such a connected world. As much as I have heard, "I am color blind", it is the lived experience from the group that spoke up and said this is wrong and here's why. Take the time to listen to those friends, family members, colleagues, and loved ones #Repost @violadavis • • • • • • "The dehumanization of women. The dehumanization of Asians. The dehumanization of sex workers. The dehumanization around class. The dehumanization of immigrants. Dehumanizing language is a radicalizing tool of white supremacy and white evangelical extremism (which are inextricably connected). Combine a long history of discrimination and bias with leaders who talk about the “Kung Flu” and “grabbing them by the pussy” and you can see the very short distance between our language, our thoughts, and our actions including everything from violence and diminishing that violence with “just having a bad day” to "Well, look what kind of work they did." This is why shame, humiliation, and dehumanizing make the world a more dangerous place for all of us. We shouldn’t tolerate anyone being shamed, humiliated or dehumanized - even the people who bring out our rage. It’s easier than accountability, it’s a quick way to discharge our anger, and it can even get some “likes” and fist bumps. print and scrapbook favourite poetry and literature quotes

improve your handwriting by doing handwriting exercises

learn philosophy with the philosophize this! podcast. actually just check out all the educational spotify podcasts there are many good ones

start a weekly club with friends to share new and interesting things you’ve learnt that week

clean and reorganise your study space, physical or digital

check out online museums
