Wow, it must be a lot if you're already trying to slow things down. What were you doing before you came to town, if you don't mind me asking. And that's why programs, and courses like this exisit, to help supplement in school learning. Yeah, I find people helping people is much more common than the government stepping in.

Two months, give or take a couple weeks? Mostly been focusing on getting settled and adjusting to a new type of work. There's so little of importance actually taught in schools, which is rather disappointing. And getting the government to cover things... Always easier said than done.

Fun tip, if you bring baked goods, they'll probably let you slide down the pole or sit in one of the trucks. They might let you do both if you ask.

And you shouldn't have so many people to knock of their high horse, but here we are. I mean, not that you wouldn't make a beautiful- handsome test dummy, test person, but if you did I wouldn't be putting my mouth on yours or pummeling your chest cavity. I try to avoid giving people bruises, generally speaking. But with the test dummies everyone gets a chance to practice mouth to mouth and feel exactly how hard you need to press on the chest cavity for effective compressions. It's better for learning. Sometimes people find it easier to learned when to place their hands for compressions if I show them om me. So, you can pummel me in front of your office if you'd like. Thank you.

A not-small part of me thinks you shouldn't have to be used to it, but unfortunately I've been told I can't fight everyone who tends to live on their high-horse. You sure you don't want me to volunteer as a test dummy? I have a feeling at least a few of the folks from the office would get a kick out of watching me get pummeled in the name of health and safety education. Pretend you didn't say what? I didn't hear a thing, 😉

Well, hopefully this class becomes a more official long term thing, so if they need a refresher or their recertifications, let me know. How do you feel about cutting a six year olds hair, she's been asking for a cut and color but she's too young for permanent color, you have anything temporary that would work on afro textured hair?

How long have you been back? Me too, it would be great if classes like this were taught in schools too but at the very least offered for free, classes like this save lives, which seems like something local governments should invest in.

Will do, not that I feel like I've been back in town long enough to have anyone to tell, but I'll do what I can. That's good, I'm glad you have the support in place to have this be something.

I bet you'd do an awesome job, it runs in the family to be a lifesaver. Maybe you could come to a class and show everyone how it's done,it might be more relatable to folks if they see it from a non first responder.

After you give the room a demo you can eat as much popcorn as you want.

Hazards of having a big brother who's a fire fighter: I already know all of the above. I'm not sure anybody wants me to have to perform CPR on them, given my general level of clumsiness and all, but if it came down to it I probably could.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to stopping by to watch. With or without popcorn, I'm not picky.

That's nice of him, I'm glad you were able to get that figured out and yeah, I am still down, and I like having visitors at the station during down time, but if you stop by and I'm not there there's always something to eat and a cool place to sit, and you can ask someone at there to get a hold of me for an ETA. I'd give you my number but it's not gonna be uch help if I'm on a call.

I'm use to holier-than-thou types, between patients and doctors it's not an uncommon attitude, but it's okay, even if they can't admit they're capable of learning something new I know they did and so long as the information sinks in, that's all that matter to me. But I'd be honored to give you CPR training. I mean not personal- yes personall, but I wouldn't be the test dummy and neither would you, it would be an actual test dunny that's not.... alive. If I asked you to pretend I didn't just say what I just said would you do that?

How mean would it be of me to ship a dozen or so assorted lawyers and paralegals your way for comprehensive CPR training? Mean to them, I mean — only a couple of them are the holier-than-thou type, I’m not so cruel that I’d saddle you with a full compliment of elitist douchebags. And I know how to use a fire extinguisher myself, but I never did get around to taking a CPR class — so I should probably count myself among them, if I’m being the mean boss here.

I have no doubt that someone as brilliant as you could figure it out, but it would make me feel better if you knew the official in and outs to minimize damage and/or injury. You are never a bother, especially when it comes to your safety. I will let you know when the classes start but the next time I'm there I'm going to at least show you how to use the fire extinguisher and make sure your smoke alarms are working.

It's not exactly something one wants to advertise. To be fair, I reckon I could probably get the hang of it if i needed to in a jiffy. I know I could have asked, but I'd rather not bother you when you're off! Whenever you start hosting the classes, I'll be there front and center.
