One Room Challenge Week One :: The Plan!
One Room Challenge Week One :: The Plan!
the primary time I participated in the One Room task, I selected to revamp our eating room – a fairly clean task to ease myself into this six week makeover process. the second one time I participated, I came in knowing exactly what I wanted to do with my attic dressing room, and had made all my important choices earlier than the birthday party even commenced! This time? properly, this time, I should admit it you guys, things have become real.
The title of this post is a bit deceiving for one huge reason: Up until last night, I actually had NO plan for this room. In reality, up until last night time I wasn’t even positive which room i was going to do! the best news is that there’s nothing like a cut-off date to call for a few choices! So I began by pulling collectively a few inspiration…

After debating between our residing room and main bedroom, I determined it turned into time to tackle the distance we’ll be the use of the maximum in the coming months – the living room. There are a few factors I’m drawn to the usage of, and worn woods is considered one of them. i like the way this styled buffet looks with lots of antique art and special amassed portions. Taking notes!

these 3 rooms have some things in commonplace – muted palettes, a combination of styles, sturdy art, and plenty of linen and texture. they're undying, however still private and i like that. I’m going use them to manual some of my short choices as we plan this issue out in real time!
As for the present day state of affairs…
our present day living room and plan for the one Room mission a bit returned tale for those of you who are traveling for the first time (welcome!). almost years ago I moved in with my boyfriend – now fiancé – into his 1920’s domestic in Seattle. Any of you who've ever moved in with a spouse or accomplice understand how difficult it's miles to merge all of your stuff and personal style. I’ve been chipping away at things around right here, however this room needs a few foremost attention.
Now that our kitchen remodel is almost accomplished, I really need the rest of the house to experience on par with what we’ve executed in there. No extra mishmash of leftover furniture. It’s time to whittle things right down to what we adore, and do away with the rest! As you may see, I’ve already began a list.
One task i have is the corners of the room on the television aspect of factors. I’m running on solving that with a few large spherical tables, I assume? The tv, alas, isn't always going anywhere in the interim. at some point whilst we make our basement a little greater comfortable, that can change, however the fact is that this is the room we cling out inside the most and therefore, the tv stays. The rug (mine) and the old sofa (his) can be leaving. The loveseat became a untimely buy once I first moved in. I nonetheless find it irresistible, however I’m no longer positive it’ll become running with what we've got planned right here. I nonetheless like the coffee desk, however may also see it pass. usually this room simply needs to experience considerate!
I promise to take some extra images of the gap, however for now… let’s cognizance on wherein it’s going!
our living room plan for the one Room mission sofa couch european orrick lamp storage ‘afterglow’ art metallic table commenced with the biggies here. The sofa is selection number one. Given the above concept snap shots, I’m sort of bowled over that I’m even thinking about something apart from a white linen couch, however here we're. The suitable velvet sofa is a lovely, heat chocolate tone and that i’m type of in love with it. What would you pick out? What approximately each?
I’m sure and decided to fit some chartreuse inexperienced into this room, however it is able to not be that chair because it’s special order and will take too long to get here, sooooo… I’m going to need to hunt. I like the idea of a massive, comfortable declaration chair!
storage could be key on this room. right now we've got two big bookshelves, and as a minimum one may be moving downstairs, so that long low shelf may be an awesome first step in accommodating the ones displaced books. I’m going to position it under one of our massive windows. speakme of which… window treatments can also be a need to!
I suppose our next submit will smash down greater of the add-ons and the layout of the gap, but this is a great start! What do you consider the plan thus far? I’d love to listen your thoughts at the sofa… and don’t neglect the quality a part of the ORC – seeing what all of the different individuals can be taking over! right here’s the overall listing so you can click on via… Home Designs Q
