Eyyy it's been a while but I'm back with a castehate update! Chapter 8 has been fully translated and typeset, and chapter 9 has been fully translated so I'm starting work on 10 now.

Moomin's done! Can't wait to get a frame for this tomorrow so I can hang it up. I specifically gave moomin an outline to make him look as round and chonk as possible

This is only about 500 stitches, and it makes me grin every time I look at the chart, so I'm really looking forward to framing it and hanging it on the wall

Quick update about Castehate!

While I certainly haven't dropped this project and have no plans to, I'm not really working on it as much for a couple of reasons.

The first is that we're... really understaffed at the place I work, and until we hire someone new that's not going to get better, and that's going to take at least a month or two. So between school and work I'm completely slammed.

The other is that GGscans... is also super understaffed! They really need cleaners atm, and they're really great, amazing people, so you should reach out to them and offer to help! Because right now chapters seven and eight are sitting in a sort of limbo... and maybe you could lend a hand? 👀

Another of my finished temari!

For a custom temari, the colors are a lot more flexible than with, say, a custom cross stitch that won't look right unless the colors are spot on, so the commissioner can really customize it!

My finished temari commission for @statementbegins !

It’s the same pattern as the last one (double 8-petal chrysanthemum on one side, web on the other, eyes scattered throughout and a spider thrown in for extra fun) but I personally think this one came out a lot better. I took a lot of time with the measurements to make sure it was as precise as I could get it, and I think it really shows.

Here's an example of the other kind of needlepoint art I do!

Temari take a lot more time and effort than cross stitches so they are pricier (one like this would be around 60 USD) but they're beautiful pieces of 3D art.

I’ve been working on this on and off since March, and it’s finally done! I made a Magnus Archives themed temari, a Japanese art form where you make a ball of yarn and then embroider the fuck out of it.

The two sides represent The Web and The Beholding, respectively

I might do some of the other entities as well later, if I decide I hate myself enough
