Jaeden had sat at the table to finish his cookie and millshake. He stirred the liquid with the straw. When he heard another speaking he was lost in thought before looking up and taking a moment. “Hey! Uh, sure of course..” he admitted to his cousin motioning for the other to sit down. 

rory nodded towards her cousin after she had sat down across from him. “what are you up to this afternoon? anything interesting?” rory questioned with a quirked brow. she sipped on her milkshake for a moment before eyeing his cookie. “what kind did you get?”

Focusing on the testbooks in front of him that he was in the process of marking, he didn’t bother glancing up as he noticed someone sit across from him. “Isn’t that what you’re meant to ask before you sit down?” He shrugged - he wasn’t bothered by it, but it seemed like the only comment he wanted to make.

“you have a point, however, i like to take my chances.” rory shrugged as she glanced at the testbooks in front on him. “plus, if you were to have said no, i could have just gotten up and found a different seat.” the redhead mused as she took a sip of her shake. “however if i bothered you, i’d be happy to repay you with a shake perhaps?”

Lost in thought, Aiden twirled the engagment ring around in his hand. Mostly wondering if he should go back and get the other one that screamed Bayley. He once saw a picture of a man proposing to his girlfriend with six different rings, allowing her the option to choose what one she wanted. It seemed like a good idea, but it also seemed like a waste of money. Especially since Aiden knew Bayley. He just had to put the ring away so he wouldn’t lose it. Just as he was about to, he looked up to see the seat already occupied. “Yeah I don’t mind.” He gives a small shrug before looking to the waitress that made her way back to the table. “I’ll just take what she has.” Aiden doesn’t give her the chance to give him the same tone she has for the last twenty minutes. Watching her walk away he looked back to the girl, “So, what did I just order?”

rory noticed the engagement ring in his hand and she couldn’t take her eyes off of it. though she did have to admit, it did make her feel more alone than she wanted to at the sight of it. but there was something beautiful about love that she couldn’t wait to experience with somebody. when he had put the ring away just as she had sat down, she wondered if it was something he was on the fence about. “thanks. it seems like a much better option than some of the tables in here.” rory laughed. “well i certainly hope you’re not allergic to strawberries or bananas.” the redhead teased as she took a sip of her own. “it’s delicious and if you don’t think so, you’re wrong.” shrugging, she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. “so mind if i ask about the ring?”

“I more meant that i don’t need 3 rings,” she laughed. “That’s alot more than any person should have. Given i knew people that didn’t even get one day light ring.” Caroline looked down at her ring and sighed. “I don’t know,” she admitted. “Guess i will have to talk to my co-mayor about it.” 

“you’re right, nobody needs three rings.” rory shook her head. “i’d like to make a change to that, obviously everyone here on the island that needs one has one but if that were to change that’s something i wouldn’t mind helping people out with.” the redhead gave a soft shrug. “that makes sense. how is uncle klaus doing anyways?”

“Yeah, turns out i have a few favorites from my childhood that i wasn’t ready to let go of,” she said softly. “No, you can see it. It’s pretty impressive. Though it will be better when the flower turns to seeds.” 

“i can say that as someone who appreciates flowers, i’m glad you weren’t ready to let go of some flowers.” rory observed, looking towards anna with a small smile. “thank you, i appreciate that. i like seeing the growth of things.”

“I know but… I mean if you spell it for me it only works for me,” she said lightly. “So that would be three rings i would have,” she laughed. “Though at the moment i would very much like at least one.” She was starting to think that Klaus was right and someone was after them. “If it happens… well we need to make sure that everyone in the town is safe and not just me.”

“i know that but i’d of course buy another ring if i needed it. i’d do anything in my power to keep you and everyone else safe.” rory reassured her aunt as she sat down at one of the empty chairs. rory’s eyes didn’t leave the ring for a solid minute, hoping that it would magically start working again but it was still scary that it happened in the first place. “what should we do? make an announcement of sorts? warn all the vampires in town?” if rory was being honest, she was at a loss.

“Yeah, it’s kind of an almost extinct flower. So getting the seeds here took alot of bribing,” she chuckled. “so i have been sending back photos all the time.” 

“almost extinct? and you were able to get it to flower? that’s incredible!” rory exclaimed as she gave it another look. “would it be okay for me to ask to see the progress of it? or is it super top secret?” she teased.

“Rory, this is my wedding ring. I would prefer to respell that, otherwise my old ring is at home. It’s okay. I don’t need another one made,” she promised. “I’ll just… have to work out what happened.”

“i can try. i was just offering it in case something was affecting that ring in particular. i would definitely try respelling your wedding ring first.” the redhead looked at her aunt and took a breath. “i just want you safe. what if this would have happened when you were outside in the sun and you weren’t able to get anywhere in time?”

“Yeah,” she said, turning to look at the other. “I was hoping it would flower before the year ended. Really exciting.” 

“that’s extremely exciting. have you been taking photos of it daily to document it’s growth?” rory asked curiously, examining the flower. “gorgeous coloring.”

Caroline flashed away from the window back towards the inside of the shop. She watched her hand as it healed. “I- no it’s okay. Relax Rory. We don’t go picking a fight with people without thinking it through first.” That was not how they had kept the peace on the island all these years. 

rory relaxed with her aunt’s words. she knew she was right but the thought of anybody hurting her family made her blood boil with rage. “i know, you’re right. i’m sorry. i just don’t like my family getting hurt.” she put a hand on her shoulder and looked at the time. she twisted one of her rings off of her finger that had lapis lazuli gemstones around the band, just in case she ever ended up dying and triggering her vampire side. “i can spell this one for you until we figure out what’s happening with yours?” rory offered.

#a whole mood

rory had spent the night in her dragon form with some of the other dragons in the red ash coven. it relaxed her, often leading her to feel refreshed. though she was starving when she finally was back to her human form. a milkshake was definitely the way to go, specifically strawberry and banana. noticing an open table, she sat down in the chair across. “mind if i join?”

Caroline had been in the Bittersweet Confections, stopping to get some dessert for family dinner when she made her way towards the door. Jumping back when the sun burned her skin. “What the hell?”

rory’s shift was nearly ending, it had been a long day and some of the customers she would have rather strangled than served but she put her own feelings aside for the business. a bright moment in her day was when her aunt had made it into the shop and made a purchase but she quickly noted something was wrong when she saw the burn on her aunt. luckily there was nobody else in the shop at the moment. “aunt caroline. come back closer to the counter where there’s no sun.” rory walked out from behind the counter and looked at her aunt. “who the hell wants a fight?” she narrowed her eyes as she looked at the ring, knowing it should have been working.

Anna looked at the flowering plant in her shop window. “Aren’t you stunning,” she muttered. She had got the seeds sent to the island a few months ago from a plant geneticist, one of the most meaning full plants to the fairy people and she had grown it back from extinction. She heard the bell to her shop ring and she looked up. “Hello.”

rory loved flowers. she made sure to buy some every week to put in various locations at bitersweet confections. she felt it lightened the mood and added a pop of color to the tables. walking into the flower shop, she noticed the woman looking at a flower. “it’s breathtaking.” rory muttered as she looked at it.

henrietta wasn’t exactly sure why she had been called for a meeting after work, she didn’t really do anything besides her job, so the fact that she was called into the bar for an emergency meeting was surprising to her. “why does everyone assume i did it?” she asked as soon as she heard what was happening and why she had been called in on her day off. the eldest mikaelson child didn’t like when she was accused for something, simply because of who her mother was and because she had shared many similarities to her mother when she had been her age. @eternalstarter​

the crescent moon hotel was somewhere that rory frequented when she had a little extra money. she’d get a room and spend some time in the bar. could she drink? no. but she wasn’t in the market for a drink, mostly trying to pick up on any interesting conversation when she noticed one of her many cousins. the redhead couldn’t help but chuckle when henrietta was instantly on the defense, that wasn’t going to help matters but rory wasn’t going to say anything. “henri, everything good?” she asked when it looked like the meeting had finished up.

Lydia hadn’t hear the bell ring to indicate a customer, as she scoured the pages of a new grimoire she’d managed to get her hands on that morning. Sitting at the counter in the musky old occult shop, she repeated a spell under he breath as her finger followed along the page. Suddenly, she was acutely aware she was being watched, and she promptly slammed the grimoire shut. “Sorry!” she said, offering a sheepish smile. “I was completely in my own world. How can I help you?”

rory had always been quite interested in the occult, after all, she was a witch. there were items that could enhance magic or even assist in spells that she was working on but today she was just browsing. “did i startle you?” the redhead mused as her finger trailed the books across from the counter and the woman behind it. “i had a day off and i decided i’d come here to browse and see if anything caught my eye.” she looked at her cousin for a moment before looking at the grimoire on the counter top. “whatcha got there?”

Standing in front of one of the mirrors in Silks and Scales,she tilted her head to the side scrutinizing the dress she’d tried on. Spotting someone behind her in the reflection, she turned around, practiced smile on her face. “Thoughts?” She asked, gesturing to the outfit. “I can’t decide if it’s a yes or no.” @eternalstarter​

rory desperately needed a new outfit for an event she was going to because one of her professors had requested it of his favorite students. she was looking for the perfect dress and had finally found a little black number when she heard somebody else. “i’m sorry, i couldn’t think for a second because of how stunning you look in that dress. so i’m going to say YES.”
