(There are so many people here that I feel like saying "Uwahh...")

(I can't seem to fit in with my classmates... I can only make excuses like saying that it's because of my shy and reserved personality.)

(Ugh... I was determined to change a little when entering Yumenosaki Academy, but in the end, even after several days of enrollment, nothing has changed at all.)

(Just like middle school, I seem to have started my gloomy youth again.)

Started playing HSR again a bit ago just bc I found out Dan Heng appears in Amphoreus. I’m on the third part rn and!! Why do we get separated from him so much </3 I didn’t start playing it just to not see him half the time

Dan Heng headcanon time… Since visually, Vidyadharas aren’t TOO dragon-like (besides the occasional horns and tail), they make up for it with having draconic instincts/behaviors. We all know that it’s a popular belief that dragons like to hoard things, and I definitely think that’s true with the Vidyadhara.

I think Dan Heng would be more abstract with it. He hoards knowledge and his friendships (“My friends… are also once in a lifetime treasures”).

He’s definitely a knowledge seeker and being the train’s archivist really helps. With how organized the databank is, you can tell that he’s very dedicated and enjoys working on it. It’s something he’s very proud of

I also think he doesn’t like the cold. For both the reason that it reminds him of the freezing cold of the shackling prison, and that most Vidyadhara don’t do well against the cold. (I say most because the Fanghu high elder, Glaciator Marum, obviously has ice powers. So I think the Fanghu Vidyadhara have better resistance against the cold ^.^).

Ans he can canonically hold his breath underwater for 100 minutes or so (From DHIL’s KUWSR)!

I would like to hear any headcanons or opinions anyone has on this ^^ I know people have talked about this thing before, but I like to focus on dragon Dan Heng a lot, I think it’s so cool😭💜

it’s made abundantly clear that the ocean is sacred to the vidyadhara. >>>

this goes beyond a simple matter of homesickness, being of a race which once dominated the seas of an aquatic planet- it’s only natural for them to miss it. however, i haven’t seen many people point out just how significant it is to them, so here are a few examples:

-lingsha explicitly says that there’s nothing more nostalgic for a vidyadhara than their homeland

-a heliobus in fyxestroll garden complains of their vidyadharan host smelling too strongly of sea salt, a conscious choice also due to nostalgia

-dan heng literally sleeps on a mattress atop tiles which give the illusion of gently rolling waves. self-explanatory.

the list goes on, but all of this is to say one thing:

it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think that dan heng might miss the ocean, especially considering how much of an emphasis is placed on the idea that ALL vidyadhara return to these waters for their rebirths, regardless of individual circumstances.

for him, though? not so much.

i think it would be an incredibly bittersweet, almost instinctual longing- one that he would suppress as much as possible, because he already has everything he once wished for- freedom, which is a stark contrast to how he was raised, and his own identity. why should he be entitled to anything more? so maybe he’ll start having more of an appetite for fish, or binge-watch several marine biology documentaries in a single night, but that’s as far as he’ll allow it to go.

(if the crew were ever to find out, i’m certain we would get a Beach Day Episode, as they say. i, for one, am a huge advocate.)
