his eyes darted down to the shirt over her petite frame, noticing it was the plain black tee he had worn the night before that hung much too wide on her own shoulders. the difference in size almost made him chuckle, and it probably would’ve if it had been the first time she’d adorned one of his shirts that was much too big for her. however – and fortunately for his innate needs – this wasn’t the first morning they’d woken up the following morning side by side. “we can stay in,” watson agreed, the hoarseness of his voice slowly going away with every extra word he said. with rosemary coming so close, his gaze drifted down to her lips, and though he typically didn’t typically give good morning kisses to a friend with benefits, it only took the slightest movement to graze his lips against hers. it seemed like a move reserved for a relationship, which this one night stand-turned-somewhat regular hookup certainly was not, but he couldn’t help himself. after all, there was a reason why he kept ending up in her bed, and vice versa, and when he was preoccupied with peppering her with kisses and getting tangled in bedsheets, he was less concerned about some of the other negative aspects of his life. before the ghost of a kiss could escalate, however, watson swung his legs over the side of the bed carefully, still holding onto the edge of a sheet as he searched the floor for his boxer briefs. spotting them thankfully on his side of the bed, he reached down to pick them off the ground and cover himself up before standing up to fetch the room service menu from the desk on the opposite side of the room. though he could desperately use a full glass of water, he crawled back into bed instead, instantly craving the warmth of her body against his again. “what are you in the mood for?” he flipped open the menu as he sank back into the pillows beside her.

it  was a  common  occurrence  for  the  girl  to  grab  one  of  his  shirts  the  morning  after  one  of  their  trysts  ,  almost  so  common  that  it’s  become  like  a  second  nature  .  she  all  but  drowns  in  his  clothing  ,  and  she’s  thankful  for  their  major  difference  in  height  as  the  shirts  often  allow  her  to  keep  an  ounce  of  modesty  if  she  were  to  ever  slip  out  of  bed  ,  but  it’s  not  like  he’d  be  getting  a  glimpse  of  something  he’d  never  seen  before  .  ‘  good ,  ’  rosemary  beams  a  bit  when  he  agrees  to  stay  in  .  she’d  rather  not  put  on  pants  anyways  .  her  eyes  follow  his  gaze  ,  and  her  own  soft  brown  hues  land  on  his  lips  as  well  ,  knowing  that  she  shouldn’t  have  placed  herself  so  close  to  him  ,  but  she  couldn’t  help  herself  .  the  gentle  touch  of  his  lips  against  her  own  was  enough  to  make  her  heart  skip  a  beat  or  two  ,  and  her  stomach  flips  ,  but  she  keeps  her  hands  to  herself  instead  of  allowing  them  to  take  their  usual  place  around  his  neck  or  tangled  in  his  dark  locks  .  rosemary  almost  forgets  that  morning  breath  is  a  factor  and  her  makeup  is  more  than  likely  smudged  from  the  previous  night  ,  so  she’s  not  all  that  surprised  when  the  kiss  ends  almost  as  soon  as  it  begins  .  rosemary  all  but  pouts  when  he  turns  away  ,  but  she  manages  to  effectively  pretend  as  though  it  hadn’t  bothered  her  at  all  .  she  takes  the  time  to  reach  for  the  knocked  over  purse  on  the  bedside  table  ,  reaching  down  into  it  and  grabbing  the  hair  tie  that  she  always  kept  on  hand  .  she  slides  her  long  locks  into  a  bun  at  the  top  of  her  head  ,  and  she’s  finished  with  her  task  by  the  time  he  returns  to  his  spot  before  it  even  has  a  chance  to  get  cold  .  rosemary  carefully  moves  closer  in  an  attempt  to  take  a  look  at  the  menu  as  well  ,  debating  on  what  she  wanted  for  a  quick  moment  .  ‘  mm  ,  pancakes  ,  please  .  ’  she  curls  her  petite  frame  in  search  of  a  bit  more  warmth  ,  not  caring  that  she  was  invading  his  space  as  she  rest  her  head  on  his  pillow  .  ‘  pancakes  and  a  cappuccino  .  ’

if he had been at home with the blackout shades in his bedroom, watson would’ve bet money that he probably would’ve slept until long after the sun had set (given the lack of sleep he had gotten all night). but, as the sun beamed through the windows, the warmth on his face raised his body temperature and slowly alerted his senses back to consciousness. from a deep slumber induced by last night’s countless jack and cokes and joint, watson stirred awake, eyes slowly squinting open against their will. as they adjusted to the light, his companion for the evening came into focus and a corner of his lips lifted into a half sleepy smile. “hey,” he responded in a hoarse morning voice, his vocal chords still needing more time to fully wake up, especially after a night full of yelling over loud music. speaking of, he wasn’t able to tell if there was still a far off ringing in his ears from being by the speakers at the italian club to round out their week in florence or if it was just the dull pain in his head starting to make its presence known. “fuck,” he groaned as he rolled onto his back, applying pressure to his temples with his thumb and index finger on either side. one would think at the rate he’d been drinking lately that he would be used to the morning afters by now, but they were always a bitch regardless. he remained that way with his eyes squeezed shut for another moment before silently counting to three and forcing himself to sit up slowly, a sheet draped over his lower half. if he didn’t get up now, he knew he never would – though given present company, that might not be the worst idea. instead, while running his hand through his unruly hair, he looked back over his shoulder at rosemary and asked, “wanna get food? i’m starving.”

            rosemary  liked  to  pride  herself  on  either  one  of  two  things  :  her  ability  to  pretend  as  though  feelings  are  false  and  completely  unneeded  ,  and  also  the  way  she  can  perform  so  well  despite  her  lack  of  theater  training  .  she  always  wondered  how  she  found  herself  in  such  a  place  ,  finding  herself  pining  after  someone  who  she  couldn’t  have  even  if  she  wanted  to  admit  that  she  didn’t  only  want  to  be  a  one  night  stand  with  him  .  don’t  get  her  wrong  ,  rosemary  had  no  clue  how  he  felt  because  she  never  even  bothered  to  mention  it  ,  but  rosemary  knew  better  than  to  ruin  something  when  it  was  going  well  .  so  ,  she  fakes  it  all  --  her  content  with  only  sleeping  together  and  remaining  as  friends  with  benefits  ,  but  rosemary  won’t  lie  and  pretend  as  though  it  didn’t  hurt  .  even  when  he  greets  her  for  the  first  time  in  that  damned  morning  voice  ,  rosemary  has  to  bite  the  inside  of  her  cheek  to  prevent  the  deep  tint  of  red  that’s  threatening  to  take  over  her  features  .  for  a  moment  ,  rosemary  forgets  about  her  throbbing  headache  ,  but  as  soon  as  watson  rolls  over  ,  she’s  releasing  a  pent  up  breath  and  pressing  a  hand  to  her  forehead  as  if  it  were  to  stop  the  constant  pounding  .  maybe  she’s  becoming  more  and  more  of  a  lightweight  ,  but  she  won’t  admit  it  .  she  keeps  the  soft  sheets  tucked  under  her  arms  as  she  sits  up  as  well  ,  light  toned  hair  cascading  past  her  shoulders  and  resting  on  the  naked  expanse  of  her  back  .  if  she’s  being  honest  ,  she’s  not  even  sure  of  who’s  room  the  two  went  stumbling  into  the  night  before  ,  so  she  absentmindedly  grabs  the  shirt  from  the  floor  to  cover  herself  up  before  she  dares  to  make  an  attempt  out  of  bed  .  rosemary  tucks  tangled  locks  behind  her  ears  and  out  of  her  face  as  she  moves  to  lightly  rest  her  chin  on  the  male’s  bare  shoulder  .  ‘  i’m  good  with  that  .  should  we  go  somewhere  or  stay  in  ?  ‘cause  if  i’m  being  honest  ...  staying  in  sounds  so  much  better  .  ’

           waking  up  close  to  the  afternoon  hours  was  never  a  habit  of  rosemary’s  unless  she  was  drunk  and  didn’t  have  to  go  to  a  rehearsal  or  training  session  .  she’s  not  all  that  surprised  though  ,  when  she  wakes  up  with  the  sun  hitting  her  square  in  the  face  and  disrupting  the  last  remnants  of  sleep  that  lingered  on  her  features  .  it  was  their  last  full  day  in  italy  before  returning  to  new  york  to  celebrate  the  holidays  with  their  respective  families  ,  but  rosemary’s  more  concerned  with  the  throbbing  in  her  skull  and  the  sheets  that  have  become  a  boa  constrictor  around  her  lithe  legs  .  despite  this  though  ,  rosemary  rolls  onto  her  side  and  stretches  out  whatever  kinks  adorn  her  figure  as  she  comes  face  to  face  with  watson  for  the  first  time  since  last  night  .  her  chest  tightens  slightly  as  she  takes  in  the  male’s  features  for  the  first  time  without  a  hazed  gaze  .  she  hates  herself  for  ending  up  in  such  a  predicament  and  the  pounding  in  her  chest  heightens  as  she  notices  the  tell - tale  sign  of  a  person  waking  up  ,  and  does  her  best  to  appear  that  she’s  just  doing  the  same  .  ‘  hi  .  ’  @wxtscn​

            ‘  has  that  ever  stopped  me  from  voicing  my  opinion  before  ?  ’  her  head  tilts  a  bit  as  the  words  spill  past  her  brims  ,  dusting  her  rose  gold  toned  hair  from  her  shoulders  .  she  could  only  imagine  how  much  stress  he  could  have  been  going  through  as  any  kind  of  tabloid  article  can  be  annoying  as  hell  to  deal  with  ,  no  matter  if  it  was  positive  or  negative  .  unwanted  press  was  one  of  the  major  downfalls  of  living  in  front  of  the  camera  .  ‘  that’s  because  i  know  better  than  to  do  dumb  shit  in  the  first  place  ,  ’  she  brushes  a  hand  over  her  deep  plum  la  perla  chemise  before  making  herself  comfortable  on  one  of  the  hotel’s  provided  sofas  .  the  girl  exhales  slowly  ,  biting  her  lower  lip  as  she  pats  the  space  next  to  her  .  rosemary  may  have  her  reasons  to  want  to  chop  xavier  in  the  throat  ,  but  it’s  apparent  that  he  needs  a  little  less  of  her  bullying  and  a  little  more  of  something  else  .  ‘  xav  ,  we  have  history  and  i  care  about  you  so  i  say  this  with  kindness  :  you’re  a  moron  .  plain  and  simple  ,  but  i’m  not  understanding  why  you  guys  have  stayed  married  this  long  .  don’t  quickie  marriages  often  have  quickie  divorces  ?  ’

          despite  her  late  arrival  to  florence  ,  rosemary  has  been  able  to  make  the  last  twenty - four  hours  worth  while  .  she  managed  to  squeeze  in  some  more  last  minute  shopping  since  her  parents  were  coming  to  her  apartment  for  the  holiday  ,  but  rosemary  (  like  any  other  millennial  who  spent  way  too  much  time  on  social  media  )  can’t  help  the  look  of  utter  surprise  that  dawns  on  her  delicate  features  when  she  sees  the  tmz  article  that  all  but  sends  her  into  a  fit  of  giggles  .  rosemary  had  her  reasons  for  disliking  xavier  ,  and  it  primarily  had  to  do  with  her  ability  to  hold  a grudge  for  as  long  as  she  has  ,  but  she  manages  to  use  her  extraordinary  manipulation  persuasive  skills  to  obtain  a  key  to  the  taller  male’s  room  .  ‘  you  know  ,  i  always  knew  you  were  an  idiot  ,  ’  the  girl  speaks  as  soon  as  she  gets  into  the  room  .  ‘  but  i  didn’t  think  you  were  that  much  of  an  idiot  .  i  mean  ,  seriously  .  how  dumb  can  you  be  ?  ’
