Still smiling, Aurora tugged Philip’s hand so he would follow her.

“Come on, the cottage isn’t far from here, we can have a picnic in the glen and then we can go exploring!”

“It is,” Aurora said with a nostalgic smile, she would treasure that first dance with Philip forever, of that she was sure.

“The Faeries sent me out to pick berries, little did I know that the dears were going to surprise me with the most beautiful gown I’d ever seen, or that I’d meet a dashing young stranger in the woods.”

He took Aurora’s hand and kissed it, knowing that nostalgic smile and how she was suddenly thrown into this royal life. She didn’t deserve it. At least in the way it happened.

“I was out riding with Samson. And then I heard the most enchanting voice I’d ever listened to.” He leaned himself against a tree as he watched his princess in her natural habitat.

When Aurora was under the sleeping curse, it was like she was walking through a long, dimly lit hall of mirrors. If she glanced into the glass, Aurora would be greeted with those she loved in pain and torment.

She could hear the screams of her aunts or the cries of pain from that handsome man she’d fallen so in love with. It was awful and never-ending, that was until she woke up and saw her lover’s face, uninjured with no signs of any pain, only then was she reassured that all was safe.
