it’s a variation on the situation in canon, where it’s clear that viserys is so desperate for a son and aemma is so worn out trying to gestate and produce it that it’s clear despite being a spoiled princess and only child rhaenyra is profoundly emotionally neglected and daemon is picking up all the slack as the only invested adult in her life. she interacts with both parents before her mother’s death but viserys ignores her and she has parentified herself in relation to her ill and pregnant mother, becoming the one who has to try to take care of aemma because everyone else sees her as a walking incubator. in both the scene in the throne room and at the funeral daemon is the only one paying any attention to her. and of course the bad faith read is he is doing this for sinister grooming reasons but that’s clearly incorrect. he obviously genuinely loves and cares for her…and also a damaging element of sexualization has slipped in because of the family structure and which he does not even have the mental equipment to realize is wrong. which is the far sadder and harder truth about how people attempt to meet various emotional needs in ways that hurt kids who are also trying to get needs met.

Take this with a grain of salt bc there're still rumours on going but, to start, he didn't want the story to focus in romance -he didn't add it to the story on porpuse-, but he was aware crush is a normal HS experience, so, in short, the love plot was about Himiko and Ochako's POV.

He also said Izuku was oblivious about romance and too busy, which helped him to avoid giving it an actual focus in the main plot as it won't go well with the manga's themes.

Love was always about Himiko and Ochako, but since after their fight it was still *there*, he decied to keep talking about it in the epilogue. However, not about romantic love, but about something bigger than that (specifically, correc me if wrong, he uses a japanese word that is about heroic/idilic love)

He also says he doesn't know it turned out to be, lol.

In short, 431 was about love, but it wasn't romantic

I think one of the most best chapters from ASOIAF is Sansa IV of a Clash of Kings. Sansa's disillusionment with Dontos finally rearing its head, her anger and feelings of helplessness emerging openly at last, her wish to be gentle with Sandor Clegane, which he promptly rejects, Sansa having her first period in an underrated moment of pure horror as she realized that it means she's to be Joffrey's wife now, that she'll have to wed and bed him and bear his children, a prospect which no longer excites her and only serves to terrify her further. Fire haunts the entire chapter, and Sansa keeps subconsciously pointing it out, from the burning of buildings by the walls, to the burning of the woods and Sandor's remark that only cravens fight with fire, and it all comes down to Sansa trying to burn her bedding in an attempt to hide her flowering. Even the fire isn't gone truly, the next morning, after Sansa bathes in scalding hot water and goes to eat with the Queen, Cersei mentions that all food tastes like ash to her too, before going on to speak of Joffrey's nature and revealing her own views of the son she guards so deeply. Fire first makes its appearance in Tyrion XI, when Tyrion orders for houses along the walls to be burned down so Stannis and his troops couldn't climb them, and it appeared again in Jon VI with the fire that tips off Qhorin Halfhand onto the wildling location and Ygritte with her fire red hair, as well as her insistence that the dead men be burned (which is ignored), but its with Sansa that it fully emerges as we march towards the Battle of the Blackwater and Wildfire being used for the first time on screen.
