Went to look for Snape headcannons on Tumblr and was shocked to see the massive increase in the number of Snape-haters. They're simply everywhere - glorifying James Potter at the cost of Snape and downright vilifying the latter. It's saddening to see that people still choose to remain unaware of the damaging effects of abuse from a young age. So many are under the impression that abuse should have turned him into some kind of Almighty Defender of the Downtrodden! That would have turned Snape's story into a fairytale! And we all know how far from reality that would have been.

Turning to the light is not easy! Especially when people of that so-called 'light' were once the reason behind your everyday misery. Yet Snape haters cling to the delusion that all Snape had to do was wake up one morning, see the sunshine and the lillies (no pun intended) and decide, "Oh what a great life I have! I'm going to be the human version of a rainbow!"

It's sickening to see how blind people are to reality and the very visible scars it leaves behind.
