thinking about Miitopia cat people again

there are cat people from other regions, like in Powdered Peaks you have Siberian domestic cats and Norwegian Forest Cats, and also bobcats, lynxes, snow leopards, etc.

If you can think of a type of cat there’s probably a cat person with its traits. Like- there’s lineages for each kind of cat. No one keeps track of the more common ones like the domestic cat looking ones but cats like snow leopards are much rarer.

rarity is the pony i most often think of when i think about a cutie mark's tie to a special talent. her cutie mark was gained through finding gemstones and her special talent that sets her apart is finding gemstones. even her cutie mark is diamonds

but she isn't known for that. she isn't a miner or geologist, she uses her gems to propel a passion she already had: fashion. it didn't change who she was or what she loved, but she used her talent to elevate what she already loved. it didn't matter that she didn't have a cutie mark's of thread or needles or a sewing machine. she had her special talent and used it for her art, and that's what she is known for. her art isn't her talent, it's a learned skill. she chooses her art as her destiny.

TALKING ABOUT MY MIITOPIA AUTISM

These guys (alongside others) were part of a Miitopia let's play and each one of them creation-wise was improvised as I went along. I later tried to put them in their own sci-fi story, but said story is currently in hiatus. Figured i would instead mess around a bit with them a bit more Miitopia-wise. I’m a little shy about these guys.

The Lore for them is below! The links lead to their ArtFight page for extra (VERY outdated, my ass has NOT made new refs yet) lore from the story I tried to make!

🧪🌩️ Erika- My Miitopia protagonist and basically my old self-insert before I had Ray. My beloved stubborn scientist. She's a huge nerd for all things robotics and the science around it, and this love was fueled even more by the fact that she grew up in Nimbus, THE place to be for robotics! Her aunt's the Great Sage, her Dad runs a mechanics shop, and she has a robot her Dad built as a little sibling (who would eventually join her party later). She DOES have magic (specifically only electricity magic), but she prefers using tech- she was born with a defect that made it so she could only conjure magic on one hand instead of two, and she's got a few sensory issues as a result. The attack brought on by the Dark Lord (who strangely resembled an old childhood friend of hers) left her family without any customers, so she went down below and started stealing stuff to get by. Eventually it led her to finding some weird charm and the story goes on from there. Felix is her best friend, and Colette is her girlfriend she happens to hopelessly be in love with.

🎤🌟 Felix- The most cool-minded of their little group. Grew up in a family of well-respected and rich knights, but knew from the start he was never cut out to be like his family, especially his older brother, who was a prodigy. So he ran away to pursue something he's actually good at- music! During his escapades as a travelling musician, he ended up meeting Erika, and the story goes on from there. Erika is his best friend, and he is in a QPR with Pat!

🥣🔥 Pat- Lived in the Traveler's Hub all her life, working at her family's restaurant. Unlike Erika's case, business from them actually skyrocketed after the attacks brought on by the Dark Lord, with so many hungry adventurers looking for something to eat after a long day of battle. But Pat isn't really the greatest when it comes to working- having difficultly in the paying attention department but in those airheaded thoughts she had an idea. Having been inspired greatly by the stories she heard from said adventurers, she decided to give it a shot herself, supporting adventurers with cooking skills in the battlefield, because it turns out she can do that! Although she keeps accidentally making it spicy because she likes spicy food. Her best friend is Colette and she is in a QPR with Felix!

🌷🦾 Colette- An orphan from Powdered Peaks who was taken in by a group of clerics and scientists from Nimbus looking to experiment on a way to grant more people with the magical gifts not many have the come with being a cleric so there could be more healers in Miitopia's during their crisis. She has cyborg arms as a result from this, which she uses to cast her healing spells, but sometimes they do malfunction. Mega-fan of trashy romance novels, and basically the biggest energetic dork you've ever met. Her best friend is Pat, and she is dating Erika!

An old photo with their designs being slightly outdated, but yeah- I have a lot more than that, some of which was inspired by Failtopia and their antics later inspired ideas a few ideas for Failtopia headcannons. I clung on to my little guys for so long while enduring a bunch of awful stuff mentally, and I want to bring them back and not burn myself out trying to plot this time. (Although I do wanna write stories with em)

Kinda funny that I accidentally gave my protagonist a similar name as my comfort character, because they both mean just as much to me. I hope you all like them. 🙇

an AU offshoot of the Cat Curse headcannon, that, just like the last one, makes it worse

I’m so sorry I keep making it worse for him D:

the idea is simple; it’s an AU in which during Season 2, instead of C!Fail being the first one rescued, he’s the last one rescued. and they do have to fight a monster with his face on it, but the monster and the person are practically the same thing :)

AKA- they literally have to fight him, just in the feral form brought by the curse.

how bad is this for him? well, that means throughout the whole duration of this period he had to be put under enough stress so the feral mode or whatever would be constantly triggered, and then they had to find some sort of way to make sure he was under their control somehow in that state since he’ll just go rouge in panic and try to fight anyone and anything.

so yeah, it’s VERY bad for him.

and the worst thing is that I had already headcannoned that his early Season 2 mindset for the curse and all that was that it was happening because he “deserved it” and that he was an awful person. so when he would eventually finally be rescued he wouldn’t just think he’s an awful person; there’s a chance he straight up thinks he’s beyond saving and redemption- a monster, if you will. after the whole scene with Lee, he might just straight up attempt to run away from the team because he feels like he’s burdened them all too much with his own problems which he believes he can’t fix, but only make worse. (but of course the team would stop him and plot continues as normal, he just has waaaay more of a steeper mental hill to scale- I mean, who WOULDN’T be after such a dehumanizing experience??)

I also see this whole “his feral self made into some sorta boss monster servant for the bad guy's amusement” outcome happening in any Bad Ending AU scenario. The effects of the angst and torment would be way worse due to it being a Bad Ending. :D

Anyways I have no idea why I find punting the funny Mii self insert Character to be somewhat cathartic but I’ve had this headcannon for like 2-4 years now. we ball

part 5 of that entirely self-indulgent AU where Failboat characters live on Terra: we’re finally getting to the Failtopia s2 miis

uuuuuh I don’t know what to preface this with. This will probably be way more readable than the last one because I am no longer throwing technical terms at you.

Mar gets his own post by the way, that’s later.

Orion, in this AU, is a well known warrior in its equivalent to Greenhorne.

(Imagine the following being read in a voice like the one Failboat uses to narrate the Miitopia character intro cutscenes for maximum effect.)

He’s the personal guard of the town’s mayor, a protector of the weak, and vanquisher of evil..

but most of all..

He’s a dad. He has a kid, Slapo, and a wife he loves very much, even though she’s a Vampire Sarkaz, and everyone is supposed to hate the Sarkaz.

And then this guy shows up and puts half the town into a coma with Originium Arts, including his wife, equating her current state to “the same amount of brain activity as a soda can.”

“Good luck waking her up.”

After that disaster, additionally suspecting something has happened to the members of the town’s government, he plans to set off and go confront this mysterious sorcerer, to make sure they face the consequences.

(ok you can stop now. Also don’t worry Mrs. Oopsie lives)

Later on, he changes to being a flower-based healer because of Slapo’s interest in flowers.

I don’t know what kind of animal person he would be. Maybe Kuranta (equine person. Kuranta also have a majority population in the nation of Kazimierz, which has knights as a big part of their culture.) or Forte (bull person)?

Next Mii- Shrimp is an Aegir (fish person) from the nation of Aegir (equivalent to a mix of Atlantis and Ancient Rome) beneath the sea. Despite the fact that Aegir perceives the land nations as primitive, Shrimp still thought it was better than staying in the sea where she was bullied for wanting to be a singer. So she left- it was risky, with unpredictable currents and the Seaborn looming, but she eventually ended up in the nation of Higashi (equivalent to Japan) with the help of a certain Liberi. (You can probably guess who that is.) Higashi has a big streaming culture (at least that’s what I would think with the number of gamer characters who come from Higashi and the culture they export) so she picked that up too.

Last, we have Friend. Friend is an Ageless of unknown race, who is also the priest or other religious worshipper of a Feranmut (pretty much the gods of Terra.) She’s able to wield some of the power of that god to heal people and also smite them, acting as Its proxy. yeah that’s all I have on Friend.

Where is the other yapping part where I make them playable? I’m reworking that. I’ll probably post some sketches of Simple Bob in this AU later.

some generic deltafell

i made a deltafell take like... awhile ago but im redoing their designs so here are all the old refs!!

KRIS- Kris Dreemurr is a sullen and quiet teenager who lives with their mother, Toriel Dreemurr. Toriel is consistently out of the house due to her job, she no longer works at the school and instead in the city resulting in Kris being left alone most nights and days.

SUSIE- Susie is… fairly new in HOMETOWN, she had moved a couple of months ago and is fairly well liked among her peers despite her not being really close to any of them. She’s gotten word that her classmate, Kris, isn’t someone to be messed with, as they’ve been rumored to have KILLED a monster who went missing. 

NOELLE - Noelle Holiday is Kris’ ex- best friend. The two were close until Dess’ vanishing which resulted in Noelle resenting Kris for a lot of things. Most of which were outside of their control. Noelle puts herself under a lot of pressure, as she’s the mayor’s daughter as well as her own self-inflicted pressure of living to her own high-standards. She’s not shy about her disdain towards her ex-friend as she’s actually accountable for starting a few of the rumors surrounding them. 

RALSEI - Ralsei. The Prince from the Dark. Ralsei is very serious with his role in the prophecy- envisioning the lightners and himself purging the dark world of impurities and restoring peace to the world. This.. is short-lived however as he finds Kris and Susie to not be, at ALL as the legends depicted. Kris is the only one he’s fond of, to an extent, and that’s just because they’re obedient.

BERDLY - Berdly, after losing the spelling bee to Noelle, turns to some other form of comfort since he perceives himself to not be the brightest of the bunch. After watching a couple of movies, he determines if he can’t be smart, being popular would have to do. He signs up for Hometowns Sports Team and is.. on the bench mostly.  He still talks with most of the athletic types in school and is, probably, the only one besides Susie to not pick on Kris. 

LANCER- The next in line to the spade dynasty, Lancer seems very dead set on earning his fathers approval- bringing guard after guard, knight after knight, and weapon after weapon in order to get you out of his sights.
