Hey everyone!

I’m a week late, but I wanted to stop by and say thank you for 5 years of Heartstopper. Five years, four books, and a TV show in the works… I can’t believe what a journey Heartstopper has been on. And none of it would have been possible without the support of Heartstopper’s online readers! So thank you everyone.

I know this hiatus is long, but it is necessary (otherwise my mental health, and the comic itself, will suffer!) and I thank you all so much for your patience! The comic will be coming back - I honestly don’t know exactly when yet, but Heartstopper is deeply important to me and there are still two more chapters of the story. I hope you’re excited!

I want to live simply. I want to sit by the window when it rains and read books I’ll never be tested on. I want to paint because I want to, not because I’ve got something to prove. I want to listen to my body, fall asleep when the moon is high and wake up slowly, with no place to rush off to. I want not to be governed by money or clocks or any of the artificial restraints that humanity imposes on itself. I just want to be, boundless and infinite.

instead of debating whether Young Adult books or literary fiction or popular bestsellers or classics or whatever are better or worse, let’s start judging fiction books based on how interesting they will be to future historians for the purpose of understanding our society

In the past 24 hours i have read three emotionally heartwrenching, sob-jerking books and i would highly recommend anyone else to do the same if you are also feeling like a real life version of the meme where the dog says he’s is fine whilst the entire room is on fire.

The 3 books were Darius The Great Is Not Okay, Punching The Air, and They Both Die At The End. Pls go read them if you haven’t!!!!

The whole fanfic vs published books thing is like, really weird (considering, yknow that a lot of fanfic would not exist without the books they are in response to?)

But its also really telling when someone is extremely vocal about fanfic being better because the way they talk about books is like they never bothered to read anything outside of their high-school curriculum. "There aren't any books that [describes a whole genre that exists and caters to that specific taste]!"

Literally its not a contest, there are bad books and bad fic, there are good books and good fiction, why would you pit two queens against each other

If you could pick an academic field to study out of sheer interest and not the bludgeoning despair of trying to survive capitalism, what would it be? I’d definitely definitely!! do astrophysics.
