RECENT SUPERCOOL MOMENTS !!

Her two recent supercool moves really caught my attention :)both are related to international issues which I really love to follow.

1.when saudi was in trouble during the initial phase of the pandemic with price of oil depreciating with the reduction in exports,'she' helped saudi by buying oil but when situations normalised ,saudi shooted the prices of oil by reducing the supply which threatened 'her' inflationary situations which is already hard to control ,'she' diversified her choices towards others even to non OPEC country and expressed her non- dependence.

2. "talk less work more",a proverb says....but 'she' does:)' she' became the fastest vaccinating country inaddition to highest vaccine donating country without speaking much,'she' is doing more .But a recent move to supply vaccines to Paraguay (recognises Taiwan) amid Chinese pressure by saying "never too far for friendship" is yet another supercool move to show her humanitarian intent in this unprecedented pandemic.

A great prank on 1st of April!!!

A recent u turn of an order to reduce the interest rates of small savings really deferred the impact..

Even after a slew of rate cuts and maintaining status quo on the rates in the monetary policy meetings of the past year,the interest rates over small savings has never come down .This was really hampering government's intent to borrow more ( a target of 12.05 lakh cr) through bonds .this is because when the rates are high and more attractive in the other avenues like small savings,the people might not invest in govt bonds which makes the government's borrowing difficult and also distorts the balance in investments.this resulted in the recent decision to cut the rates of small savings.

But the small savings are mostly done by the people who are vulnerable like old age people,middle class etc...so the rate cuts may affect them that too in the times of pandemic..so this move might receive a backlash from the people.

So government must consider this aspect also ....at the same time rising of rates in the one avenue is not good for the economy .so ,govt shall reduce the rates slowly not drastically like this time and try to rebalance . In the mean time explore other ways to make the borrowings and spent for the welfare of the people.

BrahMos -a BiG DeaL

BrahMos ,a supersonic cruise missile made out of a collaboration between INDIA and RUSSIA inducted in 2005 with range of about 290km and seed 2.8mach has been shown interest by multiple nations like Brazil, UAE, vietnam...on this note, recently phillipines and India signed an agreement for the procurement of cruise missile which has come as a great news for the defense sector.

Reasons to cheer:

The Brahmos has the potential to lead India on her path towards becoming a $5billion defence hub by 2025 and great exporter of defence equipments.

It could build our softpower in the region by exporting Brahmos to the ASEAN nations since this could enable many ASEAN nations to counter Chinese aggression seen in South China sea region.

Challenges to counter:

Since 65% of materials used in BRAHMOS was from russian enterprise which has been listed under CAATSA,the countries might feel reluctant to pursue .

Since the cost of BrahMos might go well up to $275.77M ,the countries which are reeling in pandemic crisis feel difficult.

Way forward:

India can negotiate with US in getting exemptions from CAATSA for BrahMos .

India can provide the line of credit to the interested countries.

So with the better negotiations and prudent deal ,India can augment her defense exports and realise her dre to become a regional superpower:)

CENTRE WITH STATES ( OR ) CENTRE VS STATES!!!

A game-changer of Indian Economy introduced in the yr 2017 (GST)has become a contentious issue between states & centre.Recently the centre has said the current financial crises as ACT OF GOD....(The act of God here refers to covid pandemic....)But I don't think it as a act of God ...it's really a act of mankind:(...But centre decided to go back on its promise of compensating states for their losses accured by the game-changer and opened two options of borrowing which is highly not appreciable .

Are the states really capable???

The centre has high financial credentials than states and more monetary options to raise funds..

According to the accountability initiative analysis of state budgets ,out of 42% allocated by 14th fin commission ,only 30% reached states.

Futher the terms of reference of 15th financial commission has already became a debatable issue.

The loosening of borrowing limit accompanied lots of conditions which is added disadvantage amid disaster.

As we can understand the financial crises of states....it is not prudent for centre not backing it's promise of compensation.This may turn the cooperative federalism to coercive federalism which is undesirable for a federal country like India.

As GST was once called good and simple tax, unfortunately it became grave and sorbid times for centre state relationship...

So centre and state must work together cooperatively to upheld the federal structure of our country thus ensuring the welfare of our people.

Quarantine discovery!!!

During the 17th century, particularly in the year 1665 the plague was spreading in England like covid-19 at present .....so England govt announced quarantine measures as we r experiencing now....no big difference....students of Trinity College ,London were also went home to protect them from the epidemic.......I think u guys are feeling nothing spl....but the main picture is gonna start now and you will be say 'abaaaa' after further reading....I assure you....matter Ku va nu solreengala....ok we will go....😉

One of those students of Trinity was..............Issac Newton....he was not Sir Issac Newton yet ....he is just a normal student.....but only during his quarantine days.....he studied about 'calculus' ,'theory of optics'.....

And what not......after completing his quarantine days....he returned back as Sir Issac Newton.... published papers and transformed from wigless to wigged one( in England 'sir ' will have wigs)....

This s how we got all concepts to study.....are u feeling thankful to plague which made him to design his concepts effectively....😂😂😂

I forgot to say.....apple felt on his head ( apple felling ceremony) ...😄also took place during his quarantine🤭.....and we got gravity concepts... Can u imagine how was his quarantine....???

Corona-making impossible, possible!!!!

We the human creatures,the so called well evolved mammals living our days normally accepting all the changes happening in the world and universe...no no....creating many changes in the universe....We might have not thought of a microscopic organism would change our routine....I think I am right😉....

The so called western powers....the great super powers are struggling to fight the virus....the man who called for Ww3 is now struggling to manage situations....corona making the impossible , possible....🤐

The pollution levels which had raised...by us has now reduced to a satisfactory levels.....Greta,' ur voice had been heard by corona', I think so....anyways...a study days the earth is vibrating less....do we imagine this...no right 😮.....corona making the impossible ,possible ...🤐

The xams , toughest phase of students have got postponed indefinitely....😜😂😂..for example,the tenth board xams which my grandpa wrote,my pa wrote,but my sister ....she can't..😅🤣.. corona making the impossible ,possible🤐

The fams getting together ,reviving their bonds.....reducing Bandha kalyanams😂😂, introducing budget kalyanams🤭🤭(Skype weddings too)😆... corona making the impossible, possible🤐

This Akshaya tiritiya went off without buying gold ....😂 moreover,we bought more veggies on that day to cope up lockdown😂😂(life saving gold right)😅.... corona making the impossible, possible 🤐

Indo Pacific-vital opportunity for India!!

Indo-Pacific , which is a strategically important region stretches from the eastern coast of Africa to Oceania which also includes the Pacific island countries.

Many countries such as US,south east Asian countries , Australia,etc are showing huge interest in this region.In addition to these countries,there is an urgent need for India too to build a strategy in this region. China influences in this region by concentrating many island nations .China is building a port in colombo and building it's military base in Papua New Guinea.china ,now a days influences both Indian ocean as well south China sea.

Therefore it is very much important for India to have its eye in this region since this region have its own geopolitical importance.This region have potential for many employment opportunities.

The setting up of the Indo-Pacific wing in the ministry of External affairs in April 2019 is a strategic move.It will also be important to move beyond security and political issues and articulate a more comprehensive policy in this region.commerce and connectivity should be prioritised.

PossiblePermanent solution is needed!!!

Many state governments are waiving loans of farmers inorder to remove their distress.But will this be a permanent solution ?No will be the answer.Merely waiving loans can only reduce their debt burden temporarily.

But consequently,it will reduce the repayment discipline among them and can possibly increase the NPAs( But at present ,agri NPAs are only 8% when compared to industrial NPAs ,which is 21%).Access to formal credit sector will be reduced and the present loan waiving mechanism will benefit only the large farmers.

So we can adopt Kerala's model. "Kerala farmer's debt relief commission act,2006" is an excellent model.it clearly defined the debt as,"any sum borrowed by a farmer from the creditor" and defines creditor as,"any person engaged in money lending".

Recommendations:

Fair rate of interest must be fixed( whether it is a formal or informal sector).

The commission has the right to waive,reduce ,reschedule the debt after detailed hearing of both the parties.

It is a universal coverage model i.e,it covers small,marginal and large farmers.

Thus it is a more comprehensive and inclusive model.

Along with this...

Productivity should be increased,income of the farmers must be increased by appropriate price discovery,reduce the cost of production ,provide subsidised inputs,provide technological support and better irrigation facilities.

Only with the above a permanent solution for the agrarian distress can be made.

Diplomacy-need of the hour!!

US and Iran have had no big diplomatic relations since 1980.US found Iran's nuclear weapons as a possible threat to its geopolitical interests as well as to its close allies in the middle East such as Saudi and israel,who were rivals of Iran.Rivalry became serious from 2005 to 2018.

US along with Israel raised problems with Iran by introducing worms (cyber attacks) to curb nuclear operations and introducing economic sanctions and also curbed it's oil exports which affected countries like India and China.So to overcome these problems,an agreement known as JCPOA was made between Iran and UN p5 countries and Germany along with EU on 2015. so things got calm down .

But tensions rose once again when US president recently withdrew US from JCPOA.Economic sanctions were put over Iran once again.India and China is also under pressure from US to curb their oil imports .

The Way forward:

Cease of oil imports from Iran will definitely affect India by rising oil prices and also affect India diplomatically.Already Iran's economic growth slides down.so Re-entry of JCPOA will be a diplomatic solution to reduce the fray among world nations.
