Leaving is not enough. You must stay gone. Train your heart like a dog. Change the locks even on the house he’s never visited. You lucky, lucky girl. You have an apartment just your size. A bathtub full of tea. A heart the size of Arizona, but not nearly so arid. Don’t wish away your cracked past, your crooked toes, your problems are papier mache puppets you made or bought because the vendor at the market was so compelling you just had to have them. You had to have him. And you did. And now you pull down the bridge between your houses, you make him call before he visits, you take a lover for granted, you take a lover who looks at you like maybe you are magic. Make the first bottle you consume in this place a relic. Place it on whatever altar you fashion with a knife and five cranberries. Don’t lose too much weight. Stupid girls are always trying to disappear as revenge. And you are not stupid. You loved a man with more hands than a parade of beggars, and here you stand. Heart like a four-poster bed. Heart like a canvas. Heart leaking something so strong they can smell it in the street.
Frida Kahlo Always this quote.

I feel like we only ever had a chance on earth while John Lennon was on it.

Quote
I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope, for hope would be hope for the wrong thing; wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing; there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting. Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought: So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.

Before you speak to me about your religion, first show it to me in how you treat other people; before you tell me how much you love your God, show me in how much you love all His children; before you preach to me of your passion for your faith, teach me about it through your compassion for your neighbors. In the end, I’m not as interested in what you have to tell or sell as in how you choose to live and give.

At the close of my birthday I decided to listen to some of my favorite songs. This is a lovely version on the Muppets Show. I sang this song out loud while hiking in the forest a few weeks ago to scare bears away and to keep me happy!
I dedicate this to all my loved ones so far away. Savin’ nickels, savin’ dimes...
Happy birthday to me. This is going to be my healthiest, most peaceful, hard-working, positive year of my life. 37!

NBC suspended Billy Bush from the Today Show for his words on this tape, which means there is currently a higher standard for host of the third hour of the Today Show than there is for Republican Presidential Nominee.
