i tried to read stranger things fanfics but everybody lives in internet and don't know anything about the 80's. no long hair would not be considered gay, at most you would be considered a wanna-be rockstar. no, gay people didn't gravitate towards metal in the 80's; angry ppl did. just bc it falls under under the alternative label, it doesn't mean the ppl who listened to it were alternative. there's a reason why christian metal had a big surge in the 90's, a lot of metalheads were fascists. gay ppl gravitated towards pop and new wave (goth in relation to dark wave).

Comic Anthology (it's various one-shots, maybe two-shots, by different authors/artists), The Girl's Arcadia by Yatosaki Haru, any of Kawai Rou's one-shots; Sea You There and Us by Monday Recover (a little more sad, but it's still really cute and a nice read), Otherside Picnic by Miyazawa Iori, Yuri is Taboo to a Yuri Otaku by U-temo, and if you haven't read it (doubt it, it's prob one of the most read yuris... ever) I Favor the Villainess by Aono Shimo & Inori or like... Even Introverted Gals Wanna Get Out There! by Kashiwagi Tsukiko.

i'm not sure if by darker stuff you mean toxic yuri or just media that touches on more sensitive subjects but i had blast reading Gunjo by Nakamura Ching. it's one of my favorites, i haven't read in a while but i think my only complaint was something from volume 3. Ghosts of Greywoods by letINK was a really sweet story despite it's tragic themes. My Wish is to Fall In Love Until You Die by Aono Nachi, if you have the time.
