No One Else: A Great Comet Fan Film is done!
I’ve decided to post it on Vimeo due to some trouble with setting up another YouTube channel. I’ve also decided to split the video into two; working on the Dust and Ashes video now.
If you love Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 as much as I do, give it a watch!

Hello,
A couple months ago I finally saw the criminally short-lived musical, Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812.
It may have been just a bootleg someone shot on their phone, but it was no less amazing! (I had actually tried to see it before I was about to close on Broadway, but the line was too long, so I ended up seeing another show, but that’s beside the point.)
Since the show, unfortunately, closed far too soon, I have decided to make a fan film. The film will be animated using the rotoscope technique of tracing over live action footage. It will use two songs: No One Else and Dust and Ashes.
Currently, I am halfway through the No One Else segment. It’s a very lengthy but fun process. Once I’m finished Dust and Ashes, I will upload the finished film to YouTube on a new channel.
Before, and probably after, the film is up I will also upload animation tutorials on how to create your own Great Comet rotoscope animation (or any subject, of course). It is my hope that others will create their own animations and videos, spreading the word for this wonderful show.
I’ll post updates as I get further along on the project.
Until then, farewell, my gypsy lovers.
