I went to an old catholic high school. Very fancy, beautiful architecture and woodwork, blah blah. 

In the photography dark room’s floor was a trap door, so naturally we had to find out what that was all about. So we waited for the teacher to step out, and we went down the trap door. It was a sub-basement, and you could only crouch as there was only about 4 feet vertical worth of space. On the floor was about an inch of water. There was a single wooden chair, red light coming in from the dark room/trapdoor, and beyond the light and the chair there was darkness as far as the eye can see.

So we noped the fuck out of there and never went back.

I was exploring in the catacombs and found a ladder going up. I climbed it and found a square door. I pushed open the door and found myself inside a university lecture room at 3 in the morning.

to my teachers’ credit, almost all of them allowed us to write “i don’t know” as answers on a test if we literally didn’t know and it wasn’t a multiple choice question. they just went “ok that’s a 0 for that question” and made notes on what questions most students didn’t know so as to better cover that section in the future.

furthermore, many of my college and (almost all of) my grad school professors took notes on what questions most people got wrong or said they didn’t know the answers to, and gave us full credit on those ones because that meant *we* didn’t fail as students, but rather *they* failed as instructors to teach the material.

Anyway adults saying “I don’t know isn’t an answer” is part of the reason I learned to lie and bluff so well.
