NEW VIDEO: “Hearing Your Stories (& Then Surprising You!)” - to celebrate the end of my LGBTQ+ pride month #ChosenFamily series, I wanted to hear YOUR stories! So I set up a booth at VidCon where viewers could come share their stories… but what I didn’t tell them was that I was going to be behind the curtain ready to scare the shit out of them when they least expected it!

Raw Sketch: Documentary
My film will be comprised of interviews, footage that I have found, photographs, narration, and music. The film will open with a video of myself flipping through a photo album and telling various stories based on the pictures that I see. The video that I have of myself is currently too long so I will cut it down to the parts that I like. I will then transition to a shot of the title (the working title is “Ramble With Me”). The film will then fade into a reel of photographs from the trips that I have been on. Each pictures will have captions that describe where and when they were taken. I will have my own narration over the reel, in which I will be talking about how grateful I am that I have been to so many places around the world. Once I mention my parents I will cut to the joint interview that I conducted with my parents. It will be traditional interview with me behind the camera asking questions and my parents answering. When they mention certain things I will cut to photographs or film of what they are talking about, when appropriate. I will then go back to a reel of photographs and film with captions. I will have my narration over this and I will be talking about how all of the things that I have done abroad have helped me grow as a person. The reel will end with a picture of my family in Seattle (the most recent trip that we all went on). Under all of the reels of photos and footage, I will have cut and pasted together some music that corresponds with the trip that is being portrayed. For example, when I am showing the pictures of our trip to San Diego, I will play some Eagles tunes because my parents saw an Eagles concert while we were there. I am going to avoid using music during the opening scene of myself with the photo album and during the interview with my parents. I don’t want to distract from what is being said.

“And Through”, Pat Adams Travel Documentary
“And Through”, created by Pat Adams is an unconventional work made with acrylic paint and mixed media pieces. The abstract depiction portrays two smeared circles within a defined, fine circle. All of this is over a dark hued background made of sweeping brush strokes. This piece is a good representation of my travel documentary. The vehicle, “And Through” shows the two side of my life, the two smaller circles (being home and being abroad). They are painted within the larger circle to show that the are part of a whole. The tenor, the two side of my life, come together to create me as a human being. I take what I have learned and the experiences that I have lived through on my many trips, and use them at home, and vice versa. The two sides of my world help one another move along. Also, the combination of smeared paint and small details in this painting, thoroughly depict my memory of these trips. Most of it is a fog but through pictures and some distinct memories, I can paint a detailed picture of certain events.
