The "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" trope is essentially when a really fascinating, quirky, wild-and-free woman is wasting her time with a basic, boring, normie male. In every single movie with this dynamic, I've felt the woman was light years out of his league and that the story would be better without their relationship. The uninspired male characters diminish the light and fire of these women who are VASTLY more vital and alive than the male could ever dream of being.

I love the Manic Pixie type of character (and I quite relate to it) and I'd love to see whole movies about these women and their lives, but without any man or love interest in it whatsoever. I just want to see their adventures, the things they do with their friends, their odd hobbies (like Clementine from Eternal Sunshine making her potato dolls) and I want to hear their musings and journal entries, because they have unique outlooks on life.

I also would like to see women in real life embracing more of their inner Manic Pixie - the weirdness, spontaneity, creativity, and freedom - without males anywhere in the picture.

i dont think fandom people who only think about male characters and only create content for male characters are like horrible misogynists but i do think they often have some shit they need to unpack. like how can you , for example, play life is strange and the only thing you come away with from that is you want nathan and warren to fuck nasty. how can you watch birds of prey, and the only thing you come away with from that is you want roman and victor to fuck nasty......... like idk! idk! i just find it strange especially when people will engage with media Specifically about women and then put no effort in to empathize or care about them, sometimes even going far enough to say they HATE the female characters and that theyre bitches... IDK!!!!

sometimes my mom watches these ghost shows where people talk about their experiences with hauntings and possession

I don't believe any of it but they do worry me. often you hear from women and girls talking about how they'll be sleeping and suddenly they're being sexually violated by a ghost. I just have to wonder if they've actually been assaulted by a man living in their home and that's their way of coping with their trauma.

it's also interesting how it's almost always men who get possessed on these shows. they'll move in with their girlfriends and then suddenly change into an angry, violent person. well, it must be that the house is haunted right? he's just possessed by a demon, that's all.

it reminds me of mark and debby constantino, two ghost hunters who were often featured on ghost adventures. mark murdered debby and then killed himself, and there are people (ie zak bagans, the leader/host of the show) who have alluded to the idea that they were impacted by negative spirit energy, or something to that effect.

no, it couldn't possibly be that mark was a violent and abusive man. it must have been the ghosts, right?
