The alchemist paused, his hands on his cards, staring at the android with a shocked expression. "Anti-shadow weapon...? What's that supposed to mean...?"

Roxis crouched, pulling three cards from the deck, their bladed edges gleaming in the dimming sunlight. "I wouldn't advise threatening me, even if you are an anti-whatever weapon. I'm not just some push-over."

“My name is Aigis, and I am a student at Gekkoukan High School.” Aigis continued to stare up at Roxis. 

“Rosenkrantz… According to my database, that name belonged to several very famous alchemists in the past,” she said. “Am I to assume that you are interested in finding their accomplishments?”

"S-something like that, I guess..." Roxis stepped back, his eyes wide. "What do you mean by database? W-what are you?"

Her slightly shocked expression told him that he was correct in assuming she wasn't human. Roxis glared, his hand reaching for the deck of bladed cards in his pocket. "Tell me!"

Roxis gave an all-knowing smile. He’d nearly forgotten that the general public no longer had any knowledge of alchemy; to them, the practice had died out hundreds of years ago.

“I apologize. My name is Roxis Rosenkrantz, and I am a traveler.” He adjusted his glasses, observing the female cautiously. He movements seemed too… Mechanical(?) to be human. “And now, if you’d be so kind as to impart your name?”

Roxis gave an all-knowing smile. He'd nearly forgotten that the general public no longer had any knowledge of alchemy; to them, the practice had died out hundreds of years ago.

Alchemy…? Aigis blinked.

“It is of my understanding that the practice of ‘alchemy’ no longer exists. I doubt you will find much in Port Island’s library on the subject.

“Now, if I may ask…” The android stood, looking up the taller blond. “Who.. are you?”

"Actually, yes," Roxis held up the book in his hand. "I was wondering where I might find books on alchemy. It seems the library here only carries chemistry books."

Roxis smirked and slammed the chalk down on the board, starting to write. "Correct! Which brings us to our third rule: You have to be charming!"

He finished scribbling the rule down and turned back towards Vayne. "There shouldn't be any blushing or embarrassment! You have to be assertive with what you want!"

Roxis shook his head. “Not entirely. Nikki, yes, is a case of a woman doing this to make babies, but many people merely do it for sport.” He pushed his glasses up and their lenses glinted.

“Oh.” Vayne felt his heart skip a beat at those words. The feeling confused him but he figured it was a human action that happened. After a moment he finally sat down by Roxis before continuing the conversation.

“So when do I know that I should flirt?”

Roxis grinned, and grabbed his chalk again. "Rule number two: only flirt with attractive people!"

"The object of flirting is to lure an attractive single into a situation where they cannot say no to a date."

“So…if people are together..you don’t flirt?” He scratched his head lightly and listened to the conversation.

“Ah, so your significant other is Pamela?” he asked a bit curious, “Flay said you two were ‘together’.”

Roxis pouted. Even though he didn't really like Pamela, the blunt rejection had kind of hurt, in a way. "No. Me and Pamela are not together."

"No matter how much Flay ships it." He added under his breath.

“Alright Vayne. First order of business, I’d like you to address me as ‘Roxis-sensei’.” A dark glint appeared in his eye.

“People flirt for attention. They wish for The other person, whoever they are doing the aforementioned act with, to go out on a ‘romantic date’ with them.” Roxis put air quotes around the term ‘romantic date’. “Eventually other person might want to …”

He struggled for the right term. “They might want to ‘get into their pants’.”

"Indeed. Nikki flirts in hopes of taking many males back home to make babies with."

"She is often time successful, until the boys' girlfriends find out." Roxis slides a big chalkboard out of nowhere and starts writing. "So, rule number one of flirting: Don't hit on people with a significant other!"

Roxis lowered the book in his hand just enough that Vayne wouldn’t be able to see his crimson cheeks. Why was his rival asking him? After all, Roxis was one of the most romantically awkward people on the planet, and he really didn’t know that much about flirting or picking up girls or boys… Then, something clicked, and he knew what was going on.

His Mana. Roxis made a mental note to get him back later on.

Donning the straightest face he could muster, Roxis cleared his throat and set the book on his lap.

“Vayne, I’m going to tell you right now, that I am not very good at this. Are you sure that I am the one you want to learn from me?”
