NaNoWriMo wine pairing, round 2
It's NaNoWriMo wine pairing time again. Week 2 is always a slog for me, so I picked this wine totally by the label. It's fantastical and inspiring, and even though it has no direct tie to my story, I'm excited to push through a writing session tonight & try to make up some of my word deficit. This is a rich wine with notes of cherry and smoke, and is cranberry tart, just how I like my Zinfandels. Thank you, Inconspicuous Zinfandel! I am off to write some fight scenes.

Because why not combine my love of writing with my love of wine?
It's NaNoWriMo wine pairing time! Honey features heavily in my NaNo project, as do legends, so I had to include Hidden Legends Pure Honey Mead in project wine pairing list.

I like this one. Sometimes, honey meads can be a touch too sweet for me, but this one is just right and ends with a bit of a dry bite.
Now onto writing some scenes featuring lady investigators of a certain age, counterfit honey, and maybe a legend or two...

NaNo prep (nearly) complete!
The Sticky Note Collage of Doom is complete and is totally going in my prep bucket for future projects! Taking my time with it allowed me to nail down my project's mood and tone, as well as solidify some of my more squishy worldbuilding elements, POV character mindsets, and even some potential rising/falling action plot elements (without making me feel like I'm committed to them).

(Note to self, buy super sticky Post-Its next time.)
...Taking the week off from work is also going in my prep bucket when I can swing the time off. I've been menu planning and cooking at a leisurely pace and even have a few story-inspired meals in the works. (Hello seasonal pumpkin soup!) Plus, I'm really looking forward to getting up at my normal time tomorrow and having the luxury of being able to write first thing without 20-minute time limit.
Go fellow WriMo's! *\o/*

Gearing up for NaNoWriMo by trying the Sticky Note Collage of Doom exercise Ryussei Dragon Stars posted in the NaNo Prep forum. And because I could, I found a wine pairing for it, Yalumba's The Scribbler, a Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend that packs a delightful sweet-tart punch. Perfect for dooming up the wall with sticky notes to help me nail down my project's mood/tone/feel!

At my first NaNoWriMo write-in of the season! It’s 3 hours, so I’m shooting for 3-5K.

Setting up a project notebook totally counts as progress, right? (I also went to the library and picked up reference material.) (...also, autocorrect suggested "lint war" for my (admittedly horrible) misspelling of library, and no, autocorrect. Even though I have cats, there are no lint wars in my house. I have come to accept I will always be sporting cat hair.)

June 2017 writing goal
I’m participating in #authorconfession and #WIPRevelation this month on twitter. Day 1 of #authorconfession is to share a word or chapter goal. I’m currently writing folklore for my secondary world. My June goal is to finish this novella:
Word came through the salmon swimming up Turenn to spawn: the western forest was preparing to test a champion. Well now. Ogarmach rose from the water. That was worth witnessing. Perhaps word would also reach Moluag, and they could continue their argument over which of them was the forest’s true mother. They’d yet to settle it. Maybe they would this time. It was an honor to offer a champion its first gift.
