Losing my mind at this poor girl in Argentina who found a kitten on the side of the road and adopted it only to find out it was a freaking jaguarundi. Look at that fucking thing. That's a whole ass kiddy cat

ocd is so weird bc its completely belittled and infantilized on the surface level (aka the stereotype- what people think ocd is like) but then the reality of it, the actual symptoms, are completely demonized once you get into them and people see you as evil just for having this mental illness in a non quirky way like they assumed its like. and then at the same time its not taken seriously at all and all the symptoms are handwaved as not that deep because how could you be so upset about something so dumb lol just dont do the compulsion its easy. why dont you hashtag let the intrusive thoughts win and shut the fuck up

i'm CERTAIN you'll have answered this somewhere, but i can't find it so i'll have to ask. is there a particular way of purchasing your debut that benefits you more than others in any way? I have no idea how you get paid for your work as an author, but i know it can be a minefield with creative careers.
thanks for your time, and i'm SO mega happy that you're getting your life back now, to actually live. i'm in awe of what you've acheived in the midst of so much, with so few answers, for so long.
super fucking excited for sir cameron!!!!!
I’ve been saying “lol I dunno” whenever people ask but yesterday I learned that THERE IS AN ANSWER!
it’s actually kinda interesting. so if you pre-order on most bookstore websites (indigo, waterstones, etc) the sales don’t get tabulated right away. when the book is actually released, in the first week of sales, THEN those pre-order sales are counted. so you can have slow but steady pre-order sales that get lumped together into an explosive first week, which makes your book look like a best-seller.
whereas with Amazon, the sale counts rights away. so if you have a good day of pre-order sales, it’ll boost the book for that day, and then come back down.
SO: the best place to pre-order is any site that isn’t Amazon. but tbh, it probably doesn’t matter that much and you should just go with whatever is most convenient for you :) and also thank you so much!

idk if i told the full story on here but i signed up for a research study where they were testing a new opioid, and it was supposed to be up to 5 injections increasing the dose to see what people could tolerate
i got the first dose and almost immediately fainted. they had to call in a whole medical team and it was a huge fucking deal
i was kicked out of the study and got a phone call later where they were supposed to tell me what the drug was, so i could avoid it in the future. they told me it was saline water. a placebo. i fainted from the placebo effect.
anyway, it's been a few months and i just got an email from the same department asking me to be a research participant in a new study: testing the effects of open-label placebo.
open label placebo is when the subjects and the researchers all know it's a placebo. they're testing the power of my mind. my power to imagine anything.
i like to think that they chose me for this specifically based on their past experience with me. "get the guy who fainted like a little bitch boy from saline water." anyway i just submitted all my info and i'm looking forward to getting started.

Look, I'm on the spectrum myself, so I totally get the impulse to try and logic things out, but if I see one more most that's like "neurotypical people are crazy because explaining to them why their emotional reactions are irrational doesn't cause them to stop experiencing those emotions" – buddy, that doesn't work on anybody. I'm willing to bet real money it doesn't even work on you. The problem you are experiencing is that you have chosen a deescalation strategy with a zero percent success rate.

My AC is out and it’s so hot in my house that most of the cats are either at the clinic or at my mom’s house so they don’t get too hot. Petunia gets to stay though because she is the smartest girl in the world and has planted herself directly in front of the portable AC unit and hasn’t moved
