Een paar jaar geleden vond ik deze locatie online toen ik door de fotogalerij van Chris Burkard scrolde. Ik had nog nooit zo'n plek gezien en dacht: "daar ga ik zeker nog eens heen!" In 2018 kwam deze droom uit! Deze plek is nog mooier als je het echt ervaart.

Chris Burkard is al lang een grote inspiratie bron voor mij. Zijn foto's lieten (en laten) mij wegdromen naar alle onwerkelijke plekken die hij vast legt. Ik durfte niet te dromen dat ik zelf uiteindelijk ook op deze iconische plek zou staan. Via allerlei keuzes is mijn leven, ontmoetingen met mensen en vooral door het vasthouden aan mijn passie, stond ik in 2018 toch echt op die plek waar Chris Burkard zijn iconische foto maakte.

Lago Di Braies a.k.a. Instagram lake. At first I didn't want to visit this place because of it's reputation.

It would be busy and frustrating to be there. But then I thought: If so many people go there, it has to be really beautiful.

So we went, we went really early and when we arrived, there was nobody else! There was this perfect reflection and the sun was just illuminating the mountain in the back.

It was just perfect, so I had to take the shots. So maybe it's not that original anymore, but it's still beautiful!
