Featured Deck of the Week: First Troy by Robert Gruman
Inspiration comes from any and everywhere. Robert Gruman was inspired by how Aaron Kyro of the Braille Skateboarding YouTube channel shouts “First Try!” when someone lands a trick on their first attempt. Robert created this week’s BoardPusher.com Featured Deck, slapped a caster on it, called it a “swivel board”, and sent it to Braille for their “You Make It, We Skate It” segment. The results are pretty funny, but also really impressive and you can watch that unfold below. Find more of Robert’s design work at robertgruman.com or follow him on Instagram @robgruman.
Upload whatever crazy ideas you may have at BoardPusher.com and we’ll put them on a custom skateboard for ya.

Just In: Dan Mancina Actions Realized Braille decks
Dan Mancina is a blind skateboarder from Detroit, MI. Real teamed up with Mancina to create the Real Actions Realized Braille Skateboard Deck series to support and inspire other visually impaired skaters. Part of the proceeds will help fund the first adaptive skate park for visually impaired and disabled skaters.
Mancina developed his passion for skating when he was a kid. He didn’t start experiencing vision issues until his early teens, when an eye doctor noticed something unusual in a routine eye exam. He was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa, a condition that causes gradual loss of central vision.
At first, Mancina resigned himself to a life without skateboarding. But after a couple years he got his board back out. And, as he shared his story on social media, he gained a following of inspired fans. Now, in his early 30s, he has lost 95 percent of his vision, but he uses a cane to orient himself around the ramp or ledge that he’s skating.
These decks will sell out quickly, so make sure you get yours while you can. Support a super inspiring skater and a cool cause while you’re at it!

Get Your Shop Backgrounds Noticed on our Personalize Page
As BoardPusher.com shop owners, many of you have uploaded your graphics as custom backgrounds as a way of offering customers a way to create their own skateboard graphics. We’d like to remind and show you how you can get your designs noticed on our quick, easy, and recently updated PERSONALIZE A DESIGN page. The best part about this page is that it is now listed on Google Shopping giving you the opportunity to make more sales from your skateboard graphics.
On the PERSONALIZE page, the customer can select a design and then they are directed to a quick editing page where they can type in a name/message/title into a primary text box and then add more text on a secondary line. Also, if your design is saved as a transparent .png, they can edit the background color. From there they can also move their design into our main designer to select different fonts and text colors, but the purpose of the personalize option is to make designing a custom skateboard graphic fast and painless.
Here’s how to get your background graphics onto our PERSONALIZE page:
1. Login to your account.
2. Click on your shop name.
3. Select Manage Custom Backgrounds
4. Upload your background graphic.
5. Once your design is manually approved by our staff, or you already have backgrounds uploaded to your shop, click Set Text Layout next the design you want to add to the personalize page.
6. In the designer you will be able to select a font, color, and size for your 2 lines of text. Both lines can be a different font, color, and size. Keep in mind that while a customer will be able to adjust all of these attributes if they choose to move the graphic into our classic designer, the only thing they will be able to change on the quick edit page are the words/messages/etc., so pick colors and placements you think will look good with each of your designs.
7. Click save. Your custom background has now been added to our PERSONALIZE A DESIGN page.
To add another level of customization to your graphic, cut out an area of your design and save it as a transparent .png. This will allow customers to select different background colors for that transparent area on the quick edit page.
If there are any questions regarding this process, or you think it’s taking too long for your design to be approved, just email [email protected] for a quick and helpful response.
Don’t have a shop and want to get started selling your designs? See how to get started here.

Featured Deck of the Week: Cardboard Drawing by Lincoln Milburn
There are so many different ways to design a custom skateboard. Lincoln Milburn drew his graphic on a piece of cardboard before digitizing it and uploading it to BoardPusher.com and it’s this week’s Featured Deck. His father, T.J., let us know “This was by far one of or maybe the best Christmas gift my son has ever received. Those were actually his words and he slept with this board in his bed at least 6 nights until we made him take it out. He loves making skateboards to scale out of heavy cardboard and doing his own designs as well as making finger boards and giving them to friends. I’m so thankful we found your website and you guys were able to make one of his designs into a real skateboard. Thank you guys again for making his dream a reality.”
If you can dream it that we can make your custom skateboard graphic a reality too at BoardPusher.com.
