#762 - Wait Let Me Get the Prima Guide

Greetin's cretins! boy am I tired. Been nonstop - literally nonstop - since Thursday night. Aint even had time to answer the smattering of messages I've gotten on my phone. So! If you've messaged me and I've ignored you, it's definitely because of that reason, and not any other reason, like you're just super, duper annoying Dave.

Went kayaking! 10 hours of it! Too many hours. Too many hours to kayak. Too many hours to yak your kay, is what I'm saying. There was a lot of other stuff in there but like, I'm tired of telling the story. Just make up your own story and I'll sign off on it.

Not-Nelyion is here. Man be mad shittin'. He commits war crimes in that bathroom. Then laughs at memes. He laughs while he does this to my toilet. Not a good man.

We got meat! A lotta meat. Went to a Brazilian Steakhouse. Every time they came and asked if he would like some more meat he said yes. Every time. Not once did we turn the little meat thing to "red". I threw in the towel when he was only getting started. I took a nap and woke up and he was still going. I made up a whole other hyperbolic statement and he was still going!

He said I was gonna make a "gobbling that meat" joke in here but I DIDN'T!

Anywhomsoever we've got some nice pages coming up! I like the atmosphere in these. Cool, dark, quiet, peaceful. Nice change of pace. Some breathing room.

#761 - Press X to Confront Your Past!

Howdy all! I have literally nothing to say. We be plugging along them pages and have a pretty good buffer. BUT! I hit a bit of a block / snag so I got halted a bit. Looking to rectify that QUICKLY. You might get some filler pages soon while I buy myself time to think of some things.

I'm going kayaking this weekend! Never been kayaking before. Might die. If that happens, find my parents on Facebook and ask them for my RPG World notes. They're in E:\My Documents\Fun Projects\Hobbies\Webcomics\RPG World FR. From there, piece together 8 years of horrible note taking and plot musings, then squish all that together and just imagine what it could've been like.

Also, like, come to my funeral or something. I PUT THE "FUN" IN FUNERAL! Confetti cannon shoots out of my chest and everything. If my will is followed, anyway.

Anybody watching Dungeon Meshi? Marcille moved up to Prime Waifu #1 on my list and it's not even close. She may get dethroned one day but for now she lords supreme over the other waifu peasants.

I am sick, y'all. I have a cold. I was very excited to work on things and have a weekend, and then I got a cold, and then I was mad that I was too sick to do things.

Y'all, I wrote this page title WAAAAAAYYYY before the new Schneider documentary. Does the newfound focus make this better or worse? Uncertain. Leaving as it is! That's called Artistic Integrity, baby.

#758 - All Herbs Aside

Greetings!! I am writing this a whole week in advance!! For you see, I will be out of town!! I shall be in…. Orlando!! Doin' a little vacay. Ya boi is vacating, is what I'm saying.

I am currently, as I type this out, watching Frieren. It is boring. I kept seeing it everywhere so I assumed it was good. I am not interested and it has not grabbed me. It appears to have 28 episodes. That is…… too many. I'm going to give it the obligatory 3 episodes and decide from there. But I'm really not feeling it. Nothing happens!! You can't have an anime where nothing happens!! I don't even mean action. I mean they just don't DO anything. They walk around, talk to some people, walk around, talk to some people. Woo! The characters are not even interesting.

BUT! You know what's excellent? Dungeon Meshi. Phenomenal. Cool premise. Fun, likeable characters. Great voice acting. I especially love Marcille and Senshi. Go watch it.

Anyway. That's all I got. Am I having fun in Orlando? No idea! Even I don't know!! We'll find out next week! Maybe!

#757 - Plum Gone

I had a five hour long working session meeting today. FIVE HOURS! Nothing takes 5 hours!!! Nothing!!! I don't want to have a five hour working session ever again!! It was boring and I was starting to fall asleep at the end!! And I'm tired of staring at spreadsheets!! I used to run anime conventions for a living and now I'm doing 90-Day No Use Reports for phones!! And coordinating recycling pickups!!! That's dumb!!! My only respite is Final Fantasy and writing for RPG World!!!! If it weren't for those I'd run into the woods and disappear!!!!!!!

#756 - What Do You Mean Perhaps!?

Guys, I cannot tell you how much less funny I am here now that I'm medicated. I got nothing! I have zero manic rants for you. Looks at this. -slaps my manic rants- Limp. Nothin'.

But do you know what I DO have??

No, I'm asking, do-- do you know? What else do I have HELP

Okay so I'm playing FF7 Rebirth and I love it. It's not as tight as FF7 Remake, which had me smiling all the way through and I gave it a 13/10 even with its flaws. Rebirth is hit or miss in some areas--- For example, it improved things you can do in combat by a lot, BUT the game holds your hand through every little thing. I've never once worried that I would miss something, because the game makes sure to bang you over the head and say LOOK OVER HERE THERE'S A THING OVER HERE DO YOU SEE IT

It definitely ramps up the absurdity, and FF7 has always been silly, so I'm hear for it for the most part. Definitely laughed more in this game and I'm enjoying all the little character moments.

I haven't gotten far, only just now finished Chapter 4 or 5, but there are a few instances I've felt let down. There was one, highly iconic scene I was looking forward to early in the game, and they made it SO LAME. IT WAS SO SO LAME YOU GUYS. But it's fine. I GUESS. There's another scene that I was super looking forward to, that, unless I'm misremembering when it happens, was just left out entirely. You have no idea how badly I wanted to see that happen. Actually! I want to talk about this, so SKIP EVERYTHING WITH THE /// IN FRONT OF IT if you don't want teeny FF7 Rebirth spoilers. (Or don't care.)

The fight wasn't that epic (it felt so much more epic in the OG), BUT the scene I'm talking about is where we find the thing IMPALED on a tree!! Here they just… have him weirdly appear in the water, use a whirlwind attack to send the snake up, then it falls on the tree…. Like… ok…. #755 - Hey Man You're Covering Up the Title

Hoo boy and howdy! I've been doing two things the past 5 days: Playing FF7 Rebirth, and fighting a stomach bug! Let's just say both of those activities are trying to DUKE it out, you get me??? Huh?? Huh??? You get me.

Rebirth has so, so much going on in it that I get a little bit overwhelmed, but I'm really excited to tackle more of it. I play really, really slowly because I like to savor everything.

Also, everyone's battle mechanics are different, and it feels so stressful (yet fun) to try to get good at all of them. Back in the day I just had Tifa and Aerith on my team because they were Cute but now I do the exact same thing!

In fact, I'll probably go play that immediately after making this post. I wonder, would I have gotten into RPG World if I didn't start my RPG journey on FF7 back in the day? Would this exist? Would you be reading it? Almost certainly, entirely no.

I lied, I'm probably going to shower, shave, get a haircut, go to a doctor appointment (for the rampant dookies you see), get groceries, then come back here, THEN probably play FF7.

Oh! Atari and I are doing an RPGW:FR Enhanced Edition. Some pages out there have really glaring errors (Howard is missing his wings for the first half of the comic, go look), so we're going and making some changes to pages. Collect your vintage OG pages now while you can! Those error pages are going to be worth something one day.

Also, we've been doing this 8 years, can you believe that? 2 year long hiatuses in there, so like 6, but still. Damn, man.

#753 - Kissed Off?

You guys remember when I had really long, insane author's notes? Yeah those were fun. I'm tired now. Ya boi is on medication

I bought a PS5 specifically and only to play FF7 Rebirth when it comes out in a week. When I finish the game I will be selling my PS5 back on eBay. But if I didn't, I would have paid roughly 600 dollars (console + game) to play it.

And it's worth every penny. You guys don't understand. I'm fucking -feral- for these games. I made ex girlfriends promise that if I ever died they would hook up a generator next to my grave and play any FF7 remakes that ever came out. I fucking pinky swore them. I'd like to think they'd still do it but they're actually coming out now and hopefully???? I won't die???????????

Also something else that will keep me going for the next 10 years is Deltarune. I stg with how slowly it's being developed it's gonna be like a 20 years project. But that's fine. I love it so much.

After that, uhhh?.. Idk I guess I can die after that.

#749 - Who Buys Flowers for the Florist

GREETINGS! I am sleep deprived. Like ACTUAL sleep deprived! Not just sleepy. I got tied up working on running a local machine install of an AI Language Model and it just kept going and going and then it was 10am.

So I just… Took a shower and ate breakfast.

But no, I seriously didn't feel any effects at all. I wasn't tired in the least. I just went about my life. UNTIL! About an hour ago, when I sat down to get this page ready. It was the first I hadn't been nonstop moving in a while and I just feel kinda drunk. And I can sorta see shrimp colors?? But it'll be aight. I'll sleep tonight. Prob'ly.

I haven't done a legit all nighter since college. I dunno how I did it man. Maybe being in a trance working on my installation counted as rest. Who knows.

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!! Hope it's starting out great. As for me PERSONALLY, I woke up to my phone display failing and my very expensive recently upgraded PC not powering on. GREAT START. Love spending just, so so much money right after spending just so, so much money.

But we're not carrying that with us! We're leaving that shit behind. This year's going to [FILE CORRUPTED]! And you can bet a nickel on that!
