“Well I can’t say I have booze, unless you count rubbing alcohol.” she made a face and shook her head. “but on the plus side, I bought way too much food for one person and..” she lifted the grocery bag in her hand up, pulling something out from on top. “I could totally afford to give up some pie if you’d like?”

“Hmm could be the battery or the alternator…. any idea when the last time it was replaced?” Lydia grins and pops open the hood.

An eyebrow is raised at the other girl’s questions, but she just shakes her head in response. “If I’m honest to both of us, I don’t actually know anything about cars. I mean, I know what a battery is but I couldn’t tell you what an alternator was. But, the car hasn’t been to a shop or anything in at least a year, maybe two.”

“there was no way i could have asked you to give up your life as well, we were doing important work –– i was proud of what you were continuing, and in a way I was living my dreams through knowing you were still making that difference.” or, at least in theory, and ever since he was back he found himself feeling that way, hoping she was off someplace being the head of surgery. it was winderful to see her again, in the most heart breaking way. the way he knew he must have hurt her, and he was unable to give a proper explanation even now. “what.. what do you mean? has something happened to you, katie?”

“it wouldn’t have been giving my life up, we could have gone back to school after, we were young after all. besides, how was i supposed to continue right off when you’d disappeared. did you not think of what that would do to me?” she was sure he hadn’t. no one just disappeared and thought of their loved ones back home with hope. it wasn’t like that. the idea that she would have been making some big difference somewhere was something she’d always been fond of, but she’d given it up years ago. maybe in the future she could, but not now. “what do i mean? seriously just look at me.” she let out a frustrated breath. “don’t i look a little young to you?”

adam’s teeth were gritted together, he had to remind himself not to get angry with her, because of course she had every single reason to feel the way that she did. “leaving med school, the promise of becoming a doctor and being with you. do you think that i wanted to toss it all away to become a mechanic?” the words rolled off of his tongue easily and with a bit more haste than was intended, the first truth he spoke. “my mother needed me, i went to her and from there –– things went downhill and i was unable to return, you wouldn’t believe me and i can’t risk that, the consequences.” 

"i...no." she knew he never would have given up his goal to being a doctor if he had the choice. even if he's decided he didn't want her, that she wasn't worth it, med school had been important to him, that she remembered. a small sense of relief filled her. he hadn't want to dropout, hadn't wanted to leave her. she could feel the anger loosening its hold on her. "but you could have told me. family is important to me, if you'd just told me your mother needed you i would have gone with you. helped you however i could. you could have trusted me." she still wasn't sure how much of this she could believe, but after being unsure of his whereabouts for years, she couldn't help try to. a scoff slipped out from between painted lips with his words. "i think you'd be amazed by what i'd believe at this point."

“i don’t know what you want me to say, there are no words that can be said that will make you happy, katie.” his words were spoken with truth, or at least what he believed to be the truth. he would lie and she would hate it, hate him. he spoke the truth and she would think he was insane and possibly be in danger. “whatever happened was all because of me, it wasn’t because i wanted to hurt you.”

“bullshit!” when she was younger, she’d have stepped down, burst into tears and held him tight. she would have ignored the past without thinking and pretended everything was fine. but she hadn’t been that same girl for years. his words pissed her off more than anything. she deserved an explanation, and his words meant nothing to her. the magic inside her bubbles up along with her anger and hurt. “don’t give me that, adam. i think i deserve more then that. you left me.”

adam was completely at a loss for words, there she was. his first and only love, any other woman he had met in the last two years well –– she stood no chance to the image of katie. his kaite, or formerly his katie. this was the moment he was dreading, how would he even begin to explain? there was no way she’d understand, and furthermore he didn’t want to drag her into his world and risk her, he’d already lost so much the thought of katie being hurt was too much. “katie ––” he started. “i.. yeah, i am. you hit the nail on the head.” it was easier to go with it, let her hate him.

after years without him, she’s had a lot of time to miss him. moving on however, was not something she’d managed to do. but apparently he’d done it with no remorse. hot angry tears fill her eyes, was she worth anything to him? had she ever been? she wasn’t sure anymore. “so that’s it then? no, hi katie-cakes how’ve you been? oh and sorry i left without a trace.” her voice raised at least an octave in volume, her anger very much present. “didn’t mean to make you think i was dead or something.”

“nah i’m alright, thanks though.” the kid comment is laughable, she’s sure there can only be a few years between them, if that. but then she’s quite happy to keep her youth.” i’ll just wait and call a tow truck. it’s a pity, i actually kind of liked this one.”

after settling in sioux falls, adam knew it wasn’t only him that needed caring for any longer –– now kate was the biggest bit of motivation to have a job, a home, and as normal a life as possible. so, with that in the forefront the male got himself a job at a local body shop, no longer did he wish to pursue the medical field it had too many horrid reminders of his past. with kate sleeping soundly away in the office, he naturally had a baby monitor next to his working station as he finished the car he was under the hood of. “yes, be right with you.” adam spoke, then moments later he turned to face the person who spoke while the grease from his hands was being wiped to a cloth. he was stunned, the last person he ever expected to see was right in front of his face. 

she was immediately relieved to hear an answer in the affirmative, not trusting her self to not ruin the car if she attempted to fix it, even with magic. she stood waiting, checking her phone momentarily for messages, softly tapping her hand against her side in impatience. but when the repair man walked out, wiping the grease off his hands, she feels her breath catch in her throat. “adam?” it had been years since she’d allowed herself to stop and think, to stop and actually let her emotions come out, and seeing him there was like opening a flood gate. the first emotion to come out was anger. “you absolute fucking bastard.” she couldn’t even look at him. he’d left her. all this time, she thought he’d been dead. the idea that he had run away was beyond belief, but there he was, living proof of the truth.

“–So my car might have just died on me for good, and I’m trying to get it to start again but I honestly don’t really know that much about cars, and I don’t want to make it worse.. You wouldn’t be able to help would you?”

hi again lovelies! this is jess again, and my new lovely is katie, a witch, and there’s a bit about her under the cut. i’d love to gt some plots for her so feel free to like this or hmu!

- Born in 1991 Katrina Blunt, or just Katie for short, grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She lived with her parents and siblings in the suburbs and had a very human childhood. When she was fifteen, her mother was in a car accident, leaving her father to look after her and her other two siblings. Her father struggled to care for the three children, as prior to their mother’s death he hadn’t been around much. He traveled a great deal for work and so left it in the hands of her older sibling to care for the two youngest kids. 

- Katie eventually left home to go to the University of Madison for Nursing, something she’d always been interested in doing. There she met Adam Winchester and the two began a very serious relationship, which continued until he disappeared to become a vessel, and later died.

- This kind of broke the youngest Blunt sister, who turned to witchcraft in order to find him.  She never learned of his death, though believed that to be the case. She practiced more and more, using her newfound powers to help people when she could. Quite often however, she used it to help herself as well.She’s been practicing for more than a decade now, and with nothing to lose, she’s put a lot of work into growing her power. She’s been in Sioux Falls for two weeks now.

- She’s very caring about people, though has a selfish streak. It’s actually pretty hard for her to get close to people due to her past, but when she loves someone or something she’ll protect it against all others.
