"INNOVATE AND ELEVATE IV: Final Blog(Final Pitching, Lecture Series and GEE 16 journey)"
Final pitching:
On May 15, 2024, we had our final pitch for our very own product, the SBS Trash Bin. We encountered significant challenges because our prototype wasn't fully functional; one side of the bin had a malfunctioning servo motor. Additionally, our main presenter had a mock defense on the same day. Despite these difficulties, we managed to complete everything on time.
Tumblr media
Before our pitch, we felt anxious and nervous since this presentation was key to our final grade in the GEE 16 course. Despite our initial jitters, once we started, our main presentor and the rest of us presented confidently. Our GEE 16 instructor, praised our presentation for being clear, precise, and direct. One panelist questioned the need for our trash bin, noting that without auto-segregation, it seemed like a regular bin. We successfully addressed her concerns and convinced her of our product's value. We also handled additional questions well. In the end, our final pitch was successful, even though our prototype wasn't fully functional.
Entrepreneurial Mind Lecture Series Program 2024
On May 9, 2024, a Lecture Series Program was conducted, covering four topics: intellectual property rights, startups, business incubators, and the entrepreneurial mindset. Initially, I felt sleepy due to a lack of rest from preparing for my mock proposal defense. However, as the series progressed, I truly appreciated the valuable information presented.
Tumblr media
The "GEE 16 Lecture Series 2024" on The Entrepreneurial Mind offered valuable insights into the importance of protecting ideas, understanding the startup ecosystem, and the necessity of patents. The program emphasized legal principles, data privacy, and innovation security. It underscored that startups are unique ventures driven by innovation and resilience, viewing failure as a step toward success. The lectures provided essential knowledge for initiating and managing our businesses, highlighting the significance of intellectual property and a resilient mindset for entrepreneurial success.
Entrepreneurial Mind journey
Our journey through the Entrepreneurial Mind course has been a rollercoaster. As physics students, we initially struggled to see the value of a business-oriented subject in our curriculum, being more accustomed to theoretical problem-solving and experimentation. However, the semester profoundly transformed our perspectives.
Tasked with innovating a product for our school, we embarked on creating a sensor-based trash bin. Our goal was to address practical waste management needs while integrating physics principles into everyday technology. We conducted a campus survey to identify the most pressing issues and found waste management to be the top concern. This led us to design a flexible, efficient smart trash bin tailored to our school's needs, merging technology with practical solutions.

The entrepreneurial mind course has been transformative, emphasizing creativity, resilience, and strategic thinking. I've learned that entrepreneurship involves not just great ideas, but effective execution, adaptability, and continuous improvement. This course highlighted the value of teamwork, innovation, and strong communication skills for persuading others. It has equipped me with a mindset that embraces innovation, problem-solving, and a relentless drive to turn ideas into reality.
Once again, I'm Aijhon Reskly S. Into certified entrepreneur minded, signing of with a ending quote
"Embracing the entrepreneurial mindset has transformed my approach to challenges, turning obstacles into opportunities and ideas into reality. Here's to innovation, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of success."

INNOVATE AND ELEVATE III: The Final Act of Evaluation of the Product and Journey through Building Prototype of it
In line with the venture proposal we presented on the 1st of March 2024, where our group proposed our product (SBS TRASH BIN) to 5 panelists, due to some delays in presenting because of academic pressures, we didn't finish delivering all that was inside of our BMC. Interestingly, the suggestions and queries raised by the panelists were already addressed within our BMC, resulting in minimal adjustments required.
Tumblr media
After making some minor modifications to our BMC, we were assigned to interview a minimum of 10 individuals to gather their thoughts on our service or product and determine their willingness to purchase or use it.
We've devised three questions as follows:
1. Do you consider our product necessary and viable for widespread deployment across various establishments?
2. Do you support the development of our product?
3. If you were to own an establishment in the future, would you consider purchasing our product?
Honestly, these questions are partly the same with those questions on my second blog, it's because there are only few changes in our BMC.
Without hesitation, we dove into conducting interviews and interacted with 10 individuals. This proactive approach allowed us to quickly gather valuable information and receive immediate feedback.
Tumblr media
We also have some few videos on interviewing some individuals:
GENERALISED FEEDBACK
The feedback from the participants vividly highlights how important and beneficial it is to have a sensor-based garbage bin for sorting waste. It's not just about convenience; people are excited about the potential to change their daily habits by embracing this innovative solution. The automated features of the bin make people feel more confident about sorting their waste properly, which eases concerns about disposal. This new approach to waste management is a step away from traditional methods, making it easier for both individuals and sanitation workers while also benefiting the environment. It's clear that this product can make a difference in various settings, like public areas, offices, restaurants, stores, and schools. Getting validation from customers has been incredibly rewarding and motivates us to keep improving our product to reach more potential clients.
JOURNEY THROUGH THE CREATION OF PROTOTYPE
Without hesitation, we dove right into a conversation about making our product's design more innovative and visually appealing. We were all on board with the idea of injecting creativity into every aspect of its look and function, aiming for something that not only works well but also grabs attention with its beauty. Our talks were fueled by our shared excitement to create something truly special, pushing ourselves to think outside the box and go beyond the norm. We carefully considered each suggestion, determined to craft a product that not only does its job but also brings joy to those who use it through thoughtful and inspired design.
Without many arguments and debates about how the design looks, we agreed on one design that satisfies us all.
Prototype Design
Tumblr media
Excitement filled the air as we embarked on building the prototype, eagerly bringing our vision to life piece by piece. With every component assembled, we were one step closer to seeing our innovative product in action.
Tumblr media
The process of creating the prototype is still ongoing, with our team working diligently to bring it to completion. We're hopeful that in the coming days, we'll have finished the prototype and be ready to move forward with testing and refining our innovative design. Despite facing challenges along the way, we remain committed to seeing the prototype through to the end and are eager to witness the tangible results of our hard work and dedication.
