Evaluation
To me this project has been a very experimental project in terms of my skills and what I have learnt. I did like this project and what I was able to create, I found the project easy for me and I responded well to the project while in lockdown. I liked all the tasks within this project as I was able to have freedom while creating something I haven’t done before, Making it a better learning experience.
My favourite piece I have created during this project would be the album covers or the skull line task’s. I liked that I was able to have a lot of freedom while making the album cover etc and how I was able to create something I am very proud of. I like that I was able to choose my own names titles etc and use my own imagery for the album cover vinyl work. I also like how I was able to merge real life imagery with digitally created stuff and make it work well without it looking too fake like. I liked how easy but effecting the skull line work was and I was very impressed that tools like that exist and how easy it was to create all those different lines and make it look 3D. I also liked how we got to choose our own animal skull and not be limited to what animal skull we used.

I have learned a lot of skills during this project such as creating GIF’s and creating animation in photoshop, line work and the stop by step process in illustrator. I have also learned how to make op-art through the influence of Bridgette Riley, making cool optical illusions and how to perfect them if there is a fault in my planning and sketching. I also learnt how to create orbs using the advanced gradient tool in illustrator, also learning that you can make stuff like that in such process. Before this project, I didn’t know how to create orbs like I did, not knowing you can do it through illustrator. Learning the skills of looking to see whats good and whats not was most important in this project, especially when creating my album cover vinyl work as I needed to know what works well and what I should change so I don’t go through the process of making way too many covers and then having a hard time choosing the best one then perfecting the chosen one. I have now realised the importance of checking my work and analysing what works best for that specific reason.
If I was to go back, The only think I would change would be the planning for my Phenakistoscope and op-art as I remember having a few hiccups when creating those pieces and having to replan due to me not planing it out properly or not using accurate measurements. I am proud that I was able to improvise and still be able to keep with the same piece when faced with these problems.
Overall I found it easy to produce this work from home and less stressful than it would be if I was at collage as I would be on limited time and having to fit collage work in with a busy schedule. Having everything at a pause has make everything easier for me and made me able to focus more on my collage work and producing it, leaving me time to ask questions and catchup if I’m behind at any time.
To conclude I liked this project and the freedom it gave me. I would use most this techniques I have learned in the future and how this project help me learn how to keep within a theme and perfect my work, seeing it from a critical eye and not from the creators eye.

Album cover mock-up’s
These mock-up’s are for my Album cover front and back along with my record label. To make this, All I did was replace the image in the mock-up’s with my images for the front cover, back cover and record label and saved it.

Overall I am very happy with how the mock-up’s displayed my work I think it looks very professional and looks like they have actually been made and produced. I also liked how they are showcased in this image, It adds to the album cover front and back, making it looks more professional. Creating these album covers etc and adding them to the mock-up’s was a fun learning experience for me in terms that I learnt how to create these types of things and learned how to identify on what looks good and what needs to change about my work pieces.

Creating My Album cover Front & Back and Record label.
Here is the process of My album cover, front and back along with the record label.
First I added a picture and distorted parts of the face by selecting a piece of the face and moving it with the move tool and then getting the smudge tool and smudging it to give it more effect.
I then removed the background of the image, removing some of the jacket which I thought was necessary and gave it a blackish grey gradient background. I got a black brush at hardness 0% and opacity 40% and drew around of what was left of the original image to make it look more realistic. I then created this blue planet like orb above in illustrator and added it into photoshop and duplicated it three times using ‘cmd + j’ and resized then, making one big and two of them small and placed them to make it look more cool. I then did the same thing with the image and drew around the planet like orbs with the same black brush as before. I then got the blur tool and blured the edges of the 3 planet like orbs and the image. I then did the same thing with the smudge tool. I did this to make them blend with the background more.
I made the brush very small and changed the colour to white and returned the opacity to 100% and randomly clicked around the image creating stars in the background.
I then added my text, the name of the album. I used the font ‘Ratman’ and recreated the text in my typography experiment, using the bevel & emboss, making the hardness 1000 and changing the second opacity to 39% and made both colours white. I then played around with the textures in the same setting till I found one I liked. I added a gradient overlay using a darker blue fading into a lighter blue. I also added an outer glow at opacity 50% and spread 0% and size 15% to add effect to the text. I also added blue lines with the brush tool with hardness at 0%. I added the band name with simple white text above the ablum name and changed the blend mode for the blue highlights i did to overlay, This is not seen in the image above but is in the image below.

This is the final outcome. I am very proud of the final outcome and how I played around with lighting and kept with a colour scheme. I like the contrast between the two texts and the image looking up at the weird planet like orb. I also think I did a good job at mimicking stars with the brush tool as they look to me like stars from a nigh sky point of view.
For the back of the album, I kept the same background and moved the text to the top

I added back the band name and added the track list. I changed the text setting so it makes the tracks display in a more professional way. I think the outcome for the back cover looks simple but effective. it works well with the detailed front cover and you can tell it’s part of the same album cover. I think leaving the track list simple was a good idea as it looks more professional and easy to read.
When creating my record label. I took a label from a mockup as I liked the look of the label and gave it a pastel red colour overlay to change the colours up a little. I changed the text to say the made up record label name.
I added a fake website for the record label in fine print below to make the record label appear more realistic. I like the outcome of the record label. It’s not too detailed but not too simple. It fits in right with how I expect a record label to look like. The simple text adds effect making it look more realistic and professional looking.

Creating Digital Op-Art
Here is the process and final outcome of my digital op-art creation.
First I started out by creating a square with the shape tool.
Then I went to effect>Distort & transform>transform and changed the settings to the setting shown above. This created the base for the op-art creation.
I switched the colours and clicked on the button highlighted above and did this to the colours.
I got the elipse tool and created a circle above the op-art square
I clicked on Object>Envelope Distort>Make with top object and created this.

I went to the colour settings and clicked on Gradients>Metal and chose one of the colours. It created this. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the coucome, I think it looks cool however the colour makes it really stand out as it adds a nice metalic effect to it.

Creating my own Op-Art
Here are pictures of the process of making my two op-art pieces.

First I drew 4 circles, These didn’t turn out as well as I didn’t have anything to base my circles on. And after that I drew a triangle with another small circle inside.

Then I drew a grid patten on the inside of the small circle and lines around the outside creating a grid pattern around the small circle.

I then planned out the gird squares that would be coloured and I had an uneven number, so to fix this, I rubbed out three rows of the grid. This added a nice effect to the illusion. I coloured the grids in with my black sharpies. This image looks brighter as I changed the contrast and brightness to make the blacks more black.

for this one, I drew out a square and lines around it as seen as above.

I then added more lines to make it look like a 3D room/void thing in the paper. Like last Op-art, The piece has odd numbered lines so I had to rub out some lines to even it out so the grid will work.

I then coloured it in with black sharpie.
I like how both have turned out however I do prefer the second one as the lines are more straight however I don’t have a compass and all my mugs are all sort of the same size so I couldn’t really help this. Other than that, I really like how my Op-Art pieces have turned out. I think changing the contrast and brightness enhanced the image and make the illusion work better because the blacks are more black making it look ‘less hand drawn’.

Bridget Riley Analysis
Bridget Riley is an english artist known for painting and drawing. She is most known for her ‘singular op art paintings’. She has made many op art paintings, here is a few of my favourites.

I like all the different squares in this image and how it appears both sides fold into each other. I like the use of the grid in this image, how the squares are smaller than the others to create the illusion that the two grids are folding into each other. The middle where it folds actually messes with my eyes a little bit, Its the mix of all the different blacks and whites.

I really like the pattern in this one, This one much like the other, it appears as if it’s folding in amongst each other. I like the added shine on this image, it adds a nice effect and makes it look like it’s a plastic like material. Knowing when this painting was made, this sort of style was incorporated into clothes and was very popular in fashion. To me, it reminds me of a coat like material that would be popular in the day.

This one is very interesting and different from the other ones. I like how this painting has a marble effect to it. I like how all the different circles where drawn circle by circle and joined together to create a big swirl. I like the attention to detail in this image, It makes the image appear bigger as if it’s a big marble floor. When looking at it on second glance I can see all the individual circles planned out with all the individual curls that where joined up together to create all the different swirly lines.

This one hurts my eyes a little bit. all the different thin swirly lines close together. This op art illusion really hurts my head. It also looks like a zebra pattern. I like how it appears as if there is added texture. This image is quite simple however looks very complicated, this is quite funny as this image would of took hours to paint.

This one stands out from the others in my opinion, It doesn’t take up the whole image. I like the simplicity of this image and the shape all the different curved lines make. I also noticed how there is dots added in this image, both black and white. I think this is a very creative way to fill in extra space in this image. When pointing this out and looking over the image again, all the lines appear as if there all different dots all in different sized pushed together, creating this shape.

Abstract Gradient Orbs Process and Final outcome
I started out by drawing a circle with the shape tool, I then went to object > gradient mesh tool and set the settings to 3 x 3, making them have 3 lines vertically and horizontally around the circle.
I then used the selection tool to select each point in the gradient mesh tool and chose a colour similar or a colour that compliments with the orange I started with, for this specific one I used a yellow, white, hot pink and a darker orange. I also made the edges around the pink a red tone as it looked weird with the orange outline tones.
I used the twirl tool to mix the colours more and warped the outside to make it look more like a droplet orb rather than a perfect circle as I can imagine orbs being more unique looking then perfect looking.
This is the final look for my first gradient orb. I like how It has turned out with the shape and the complimentary colours. I’m not a big fan of the wiggly lines at the top, however I couldn’t perfect the shape without changing the orbs shape completely and I liked the shape the orb had.

I repeated these steps 5 more times and created my 6 gradient orbs. I like how they have tuned out, My favourites would be the first, second and fifth one. as the colours work well with each other and the shape look cool and look like a droplet like orb. The third, forth and sixth one are okay however are not as good as my favourites, They are more experimental. The third one is a good shape however I used very opposite colours that didn’t blend as well along with the starting colour being red. red wasn’t really a good colour to start off with as it’s hard to find colours that work with it. The forth one is also a good shape however the colours I used has to potential to blend but I feel like I didn’t blend them enough resulting in it looking a bit too solid. I do think it’s the best one out if the ‘experimental’ droplet like orbs. The last one is my least favourite. The shape is okay but along side with the colours, the shape doesn’t look as good. The colours are way to opposite. The red and pink blend along with the blue however the green base really throws it all off, I feel it would of been better if I started out with a white or a light yellow rather then a green.

Experimental Multiverse Shape Blend
For my experiment, I wanted to do an alien, so I found an cute alien picture from online and drop it into illustrator.
I began to outline it all in 0.25px with the pen tool all on different layers so I don’t run into any issues. I outlines the shadows and highlights separately for the body to add more texture and detail to the body and cut the head into 4 sections to add more detail and also because I feel like it would too weird and mess up when shape blending it.
I shape blended each layer one by one so I don’t run into any errors. So far without colour it looks good already and has a 3D aspect to it.
Here is the final outcome for my Shape blend experiment. I am very proud of how it turned out and I think the different shades of green adds a nice aspect to it. I made the mouth a dark green instead of a more realistic colour as it didn’t look as good with the dark red mouth. I decided to have a white background as the black background didn’t work as well which was surprising as the black background usually works best with these sort of digital art. If i was to do it again, I would pay more attention to how I outlines the alien as when shape blending it, The different details sort of messed with the different shapes I drew inside, for example, the nose and mouth outlines ended up being filled with the shape blend. as a whole, I don’t think this was too much of an issue as it still looks good even with the errors made.

Skull Shape Blend Process

So first I dropped the image of the animal skull into illustrator and got the pen tool at 0.25px (I outlined it in 1px but changed it last minute) and used a blue colour as I wanted to use a blue gradient for the final thing.
I outlined the important details, each detail on a different layer so it doesn’t mess up and mash together. I highlighted and changed the thickness of the lines to 0.25px as I thought the lines where too thick.
I went to my blend options and changed it to 30 and changed spacing to ‘Specified Steps’.
I highlighted every detail one by one so I don’t run into any issued and clicked on object > blend > make. and created this, Some smaller details was used with 20 steps however majority of details where used with 30 steps.
I then highlighted the whole thing and clicked ‘Cmd + c’ and ‘Cmd + v’ to copy and paste/duplicate the half skull to made it a full skull. Then I went to Object > transform > reflect to flip it and I repositioned it to make it look like a full skull.
This is what it looked like repositioned, however I’m not done yet.
I highlighted the whole thing and clicked on the gradient option on the right hand side and chose two different blue tones to make it a gradient, Light blue and a dark blue. I did look back to Patrick Seymour’s work to look at the different tones etc.

This is the final animal skull. I am very proud of what I have produced. I like all the different tones of blues I added to this skull, I also like how the lines ended up small and how the blend tool added enough lines to make it detailed and look almost 3D. If I was to do it again, I would pay more attention to the middle/start out with a smaller brush to begin with as in the middle at the top of the skull, it sort of overlaps each-other, this maybe due to me changing the thickness of the lines or me not paying too much attention to the angle I was drawing at.

Line blend experiments
Here are some line blend experiments I have done in order to learn how to use the line blend tool.

For this shape I used 2 triangles, one, perfectly straight and another offset a little. I used 15 steps as I tried 30 and it went all black and didn’t work. For my first experiment, It’s kind of basic but I have improved a lot from this.

For this second shape, I used a different way of using the blend tool, just to test out the different options etc, The settings I used are above but if I had to guess how this was made with the other way of blending shapes I would guess with 20 steps and 2 shapes, one normal and 1 very small offset one. This was a major step up as it’s way more detailed than my first one.

For this one, I used the same settings above, I didn’t think it would do this and I thought it would connect the two shapes together like the other way, (I prefere the other way, aka the object > blend > make) But it is good to run into mistakes when experimenting so you know what not to do for the future.

For my forth shape, I used the object > blend > make way as it’s easier. I used 20 steps and used two circle shapes, I made a big circle and a small circle and placed them at opposite sides as there was not much else I could do with a circle. It came out pretty good however I think these could be more detailed.
For my 5th shape, I added a few different triangles and made the stoke at 1px and made the colour blue to spice it up. I used 40 steps to make it more detailed, I tried 60 steps but I couldn’t see the lines and made it a solid colour so I stuck with 40 steps. It ended up looking really good and very detailed, I am very proud of this outcome and how it looks.
I used the same steps as the last shape, stoke 1px and 40 steps however, Ia used a pentagon and made the colour a rose-like pinky red and did the shape blend. I really like the outcome for this shape. It actually reminds me of a rose with all the different directions the shapes are going in with the colours etc.

Typography Experiments
I like the idea of adding some typography to my album cover, I decided to make an early test for my album cover typography.
First I added the text in for my album name and set it to the font ‘Rattman’
Secondly I went to the gradient overlay and added a preset gradient from the blues folder, I did this as this is only an early rough demo for the typography and I didn’t wanna spend too much time on it as i would remake it and perfect it later. I then added the ‘Bevel Emboss’ effect and set it to the setting above to create a metallic effect.

I did a few experiments with the text presets, for example, arc effect, wave effect etc. I decided that I like the original because it looks more professional and clean, so when I come to do my final typography for my album cover, I will not use any extra shape presets.

Band name, Album and track list.
For my band name I was inspired by the names of exoplanets and many different bands/groups in Korea as these groups/bands are a very popular thing in Korea, They usually have unusual names to. My name inspiration mainly came from 2NE1 and IZ*ONE as those names stick out to me the most, they also sound like name’s of or similar to names of exoplanets. My band name is N1*XT. My album name was made by googling ‘star synonym’s’ and finding words that are not too obvious and work well with what I would think an album name would be like. My album name is Novaroine. This came from the word ‘supernova’ as it’s very space like and the word ‘heroine’ as I like the sound of that word, that word isn’t anything to do with the theme of the multi-verse however it is a synonym of the word star, I didn’t want it to me too obvious and cliché. I did mix it in with the word ‘supernova’ so it sounds multi-verse like. For my songs I will make the song names the same way I made my album name or I would find synonyms of different words that relate to the multi-verse and use them and/or find words that sound like that or words surounding/relate to that word, keeping the idea of me not wanting it to sound too obvious or cliché.

Exoplanet Research
An exoplanet is a planet that orbits around the stars instead of the sun, They are called ‘exoplanets’ as it’s the greek meaning for ‘outside’. The first evidence of an exoplanet was in 1917, however the first confirmed sighting of an exoplanet was in 1992. These exoplanets are located way beyond our solar-system. These exoplanets add to the theory of the Multi-verse and why people think there is life on other planets in different galaxy’s.

Phenakistoscope Process and Final Outcome
Here is my process and final outcome for my phenakistoscope, creation, digitalising and the process of the GIF making.

Firstly, I didn’t have a compass so I improvised and drew around the biggest mug I could find in my cabinet. I then drew around it making sure the lines meet and ended up with a good circle. I then got a ruler and split the circle into 8 pieces.

I then started to add mountain looking spikes to the middle, I did this in order to make the spaceship look like its flying through space above a planet but It looks like its orbiting a very strange looking planet or meteor, which works too. I then added the spaceships in each triangle and added lines to make it look like its zooming. I then added stars to the background for decoration and sent it to my computer through my phone.
I added it into illustrator and got the shape tool and drew a circle with the thickness at 5px and drew lines where added with the same thickness. I then outlined the mountains in a pink colour I found when playing around with the colour pallet. I then got a lighter colour and added highlights, make sure it wasn’t touching the outlines. I then colour selected the original pink and then got a darker colour from the colour pallet and added dark shadows but this time they where around the outlines. I then got a lighter colour for some lighter shadows, I drew these shadows to sculpt the mountains more. I then used the colours for the shadows and highlights and drew a sand like texture to fill in the empty space.
For the background, I started off drawing on the outer part of the phenakistoscope with black and then selected a dark blue and switched through the brushes and found a brush that would help blend the colours in more called ‘Mop’ I drew around the phenakistoscope leaving some black. I then got a lighter purple and did the same thing. I think the dark blue blends in well, however the purple doesn’t blend as well
I then added white circles, at different px to create stars, I made sure I got them as accurately sized to my drawing aa possible.
I then got a grey and outlined the spaceships with the grey and added white and yellow circles to mimic lights on the spaceship, I also lined the lines that made the spaceship look like its zooming through space. Much like the mountains I got a lighter grey and drew highlights and got a darker grey and drew the shadows. I then got a grey thats a little lighter to the outline and filled the outlines in. I then saved it and added it to photoshop, I first added a grain at setting 25 to make the image appear less flat.
I then duplicated the layer using ‘cmd +j’ and then ‘cmd + t’ to free transform and changed the angle to 45. I repeated this on the modified ones each time so I could change the angle easily without having to do any maths when duplicating and transforming. I repeated this till I had 8 layers and then went to ‘Window > Timeline’ and set it to ‘Create frame animation’, Then I double clicked the setting ‘Create frame animation’ to accurately set it as it didn’t do it the first time. I clicked on the 4 lines at the top and clicked on the setting ‘Make frames from layers’ to convert it. I then set each frame/layer to 0.1 seconds by holding the shift key and selecting all frames, then changing the setting. I then saved it and exported it to ‘save to web (legacy)’ to avoid any errors when uploading etc, making sure my file was set to ‘HTML and image’.
Overall, I am very pleased with how my phenakistoscope turned out. I think it moves around smoothly and it not too quick or too slow, I can see that it does look like a spaceship zooming through space when I focus on one piece of this phenakistoscope. If I was to do it again, I would buy myself resources like a compass and a protractor to make the circle and lines more accurate and I would of added a base/plan out on my phenakistoscope for the spaceship so it keeps it’s shape, I would even maybe make it more exciting by adding an alien or two in the mix. When digitalising it, I would add another darker purple to blend the lighter purple in with the dark blue and black.

Phenakistoscope Inspiration
A Phenakistoscope is a circle paper cutout that is split into 8 - 10 pieces and drawn on, a bit like a flip book. It would be spun around either digitally or physically and the drawings would look like it’s moving.
I like this one for the colours and visuals, I like the vibrant colours on this. I really like how the pattern in the middle moves as the Phenakistoscope moves around. I like the idea of the clock with the angel wings, I think it looks cool and unique as it’s not what I’m used to seeing. I also like the text at the top and how they have made it fade so it looks like it fades in and out when spinning
I really like how they added different bubblegum’s in the background in the middle, I think it add’s a nice touch to the phenakistoscope as it has the boy blowing a bubble. The shape behind the boys head makes the black lines fit in with the phenakistoscope and make it look like the black lines where part of the phenakistoscope. I also like how the boy is real but the bubble is drawn. They may of done this to make it more easier to create the phenakistoscope, I think it looks cooler like that.
I really like this one for the stars bursting out of the moon. I like the colours chosen for this Phenakistoscope, The pinks and blues mix well with the black space background. I like how they used a real moon and mixed it with drawn stars and background. I like how the text is going the opposite way to the shooting stars, I think it works better this way as it would clash is a way if it was all going the same way.
I like the colours/tones used for this Phenakistoscope, I think it’s kinda halloween-like, with the bat, fire and the devil. I like the little stars involved in this Phenakistoscope, I think it adds a nice design to it. I like the hearts involved in this Phenakistoscope and how they change to a darker colour as the guy in this Phenakistoscope turns into a devil, I think this adds a nice effect to it.
I like the style of this Phenakistoscope, much like the other one, I like the colours and tones used in this. I think the gun shooting the hearts adds a nice effect to this Phenakistoscope as it’s all pink so it indicates a love theme to this Phenakistoscope, I like how the hearts are going in a swirly pattern, makes it hopnotice-like. I like the stars that move around the Phenakistoscope, I think it adds a nice effect and makes the Phenakistoscope less empty
This one stood out to me for the colours, They really pop out, I think it has a cute colour theme. I really like the pastel colour pallet. I like how it’s a little bean that splits in half, changes colour and jumps around. As it jumps it gradually changed colour, I think this adds a nice effect to it, not making it too plain. The shape appears as if it’s living, with the muscle and bone like texture inside with the blood sticking to the jumping bit as it jumps.
This Phenakistoscope links in with the theme of the multi-verse. I like the coloured used, I think it matches with the multi-verse theme with the black background which represents space, The stars add to this, making it more space-like and more realistic. I like how the spaceship’s lights light up one by one while up-ducting the person and lights up fully when up-ducted. I like the detail added to this Phenakistoscope, including all the stars, the gaps in the person, separating the head and body etc I think separating the body and head makes it more detailed and easier to identify it being a person not a random shape. i like the detail when adding the stars, making them randomly placed, it makes it look more real as start are not perfectly placed in the sky.
I like how it starts with a flower blooming and then ends with the flower turning into a jellyfish and swims off. I like how they kept the same colour pellet while transitioning into a jellyfish. I like the simplicity of this Phenakistoscope I think it looks better simple as the Phenakistoscope has a lot of detail in the flower/jellyfish, Adding on to this, the black background draws more attention to the flowers/jellyfish as it’s a plain background with nothing going on, This is good as it draws more attention to the main part of this Phenakistoscope.

Stop Motion Process and Final Outcome
Here is my development and outcome of my stop motion based on the theme of the multi-verse
Here is my story board plan for my stop motion. I will use this for reference when making my stop-motion. My idea is an alien that drops in and grows horns and wings, then flies away into the night. I ended up changing this in my final outcome, I forgot all about the horns when taking the pictures and the growing of the wings transitioned a little different from shown here to one that is more realistic and manageable.

Here are all the images I took on my phone, I took 92 images all together. To make this, Firstly, I got some coloured A4 sugar paper. Then I drew out the shape of the alien on pink sugar paper and then cut it out. I then cut out shaped on the black sugar paper for the eyes and glued it on. I then drew on the mouth. Then I drew the wings on white sugar paper and cut it out. I then drew the shapes for the cartoon boom transition effect onto different coloured sugar paper and cut it out. When taking the pictures, first I got a night to hold under my phone to avoid my shadow and the shadow of my phone from getting in the way and ruining the stop motion. then, as stop motion goes, I took a picture of what was going on then moved the alien a little to make it appear as if it’s dropping into the frame and carried this on, I also did this for the transition, however, I added it shape by shape then took pictures of the shapes spinning. i repeated the first steps for the alien flying away however I made the alien appear as if it’s flying away instead of dropping in.
Here is the final outcome, To make this GIF, I downloaded a GIF maker on my phone as it was easier for me. I added all the photo’s into the app and adjusted the speed to make it 5 seconds and also to make it flow easier and not be as slow. I saved it as a video and a GIF just incase. Overall I am quite please with how it turned out as It is quite smooth and I like how the blued background changed smoothly with the cartoon transition was on. The only issue with my GIF is that it’s portrait and it wont let me flip it landscape. To avoid this in future I would use a different program to make the stop-motion of find alternative ways to change the positioning.

Stop Gap Inspiration
Stop gap animations were originally created with clay that would be moulded into different shapes or people. These shapes / people would be in positions for different frames. Examples of this is Wallace and Gromit (1989 using the same technique) and many others like the music video in my Analysis, SIA - Snowman.
I like this one as it’s kinda funny to me as it’s a happy looking clay octopus. I think this has a comedic effect with the funny face and the way it moves. I like the colour used as it’s a nice shade of purple, it matches the colour of the ocean being a few shades darker that water colour and being purple obviously. It’s quite simple but also quite detailed with all the different tentacles that move in the frame.
I like the comedic effect to this one with the blue duck with legs running, something we don’t see in everyday life. I like the simplicity of this gif, however it looks like to took more work and effort. the simple background draws more attention to the running duck rather then what’s going on in the background. This GIF made me laugh.
I like this GIF because of the weirdness of it. I like all the moving eyes idea with the person holding them. The background is simple yet add’s to the weirdness with a simple pattern background which stuck out to me first because of the simplicity but uniqueness of it. I like the vintage effect to it, it makes it a little creepier which fits in with the eyes.
I like this one purely for the detail in this GIF I like all the different layers of the card smoke and the detail that went into the card spaceship. This GIF really stands out for the detail and time that has gone into it. This GIF also fits in with the theme of the multi-verse with the spaceship and the space environment behind it.
I like this one as it is quite unexpected for the triangles to turn into a skull with flashing eyes, indicating it’s alive. I think the clashy colour pallet helps it stand out however I think it would only work with GIF like this as if it was a realism Stop Gap, it would not look as good and look not as appealing. I like the suspense at the beginning of what the purple triangle would do. The skull at the end makes me feel relief that I found out what it turned into.
