You people need to understand that BDS chooses targets for total consumer boycotts strategically, because boycotts need to be strategic in order to be effective. To date BDS’ official boycott target list is actually fairly small and mostly limited to companies which directly profit off of Israeli apartheid and Palestinian genocide. A total boycott against the world’s largest entertainment conglomerate has virtually no chance of being successful, which is why BDS favors the approach of sustained public pressure and bad publicity for companies like Disney, because that’s more likely to move the needle.

its been p common knowledge for decades that light pollution can be massively reduced by just putting shades on streetlamps, and that doing that would save energy, help wildlife, and let us see the stars better, but are society says if u wanna change any minor little tiny thing u gotta dedicate ur whole life to campaigning for it and this is a good ways down the list of priorities for most ppl, so instead i gotta walk past newly-installed streetlamps that are just dumb glass globes that use half their electricity to blast half their light directly into the sky where it does only bad things for no reason and think "we should overthrow the government"

éponine in fanfiction is so often portrayed as quiet and brooding while éponine in the brick is a professional yapper, you cannot shut the girl up. she’ll be talking one hundred miles an hour while marius stands there like 🧍

Sometimes the media says “there are no words” to describe or justify horrific attacks on hospitals. Other times, the media has countless words to describe and justify horrific attacks on hospitals.

And honestly if you haven't tried to build an opposition that suits an electorate such as yourself, you don't get to complain that there are no better options. Find politicians whose values align with yours and support those.
Just opting out of a system that will still decide who gets to be free and who doesn't isn't the radical thing you think it is.
You can still organize and focus on meaningful direct action and still go to vote that one day a year.
Y'know what's so weird to me? self-proclaimed leftists not voting because of some sense of "praxis" or whatever.
Like y'all are just going to sit by and let your country get materially worse for the people living in it while you wait for your revolution?
Doesn't sound very radical to me.
