In Colin's case he didn't wear waders to go fishing, he went fishing to wear waders. He spent many days in waders - on the riverbank, on his way to the river, on his way home, at home, on days when he might decide to go fishing.....yeah, pretty much all the time.

Fishing is always a good excuse for wearing waders and rubber boots -- some guys like to have an excuse. Myles has no intention of getting his waders wet, but he'll wear them all day on the dock.

Jay was tired of people smirking and laughing at his rubber waders. He was happy to be a highway maintenance man and happy to spend most of his time in a pair of waders. So, yeah, negative comments get you the finger. On the other hand, guys who admire his waders get a much different reaction.

Pete knew from a very young age that he loved his rubber boots. He wore them as often as he could - outside to play, summer and winter. He wore them to school and kept them on all day. He just smiled when the guys teased him about them. He wore them as a teen when he was hanging out with friends. Once he moved out on his own he upgraded to waders, donated his one pair of shoes that he kept "just in case" and always looked for jobs where he could wear them. Finally he'd saved enough to open his own business and mandated that his all male staff must also wear waders at all time. It became part of his brand. Yeah, Pete was NEVER seen without his waders on.

Yeah, the community centre is old and worn, but organizations can book a room for a very small fee. Nick had arranged the evening's event and it was casual, but he still felt mortified when he realized he'd forgotten his shoes at home. The rain was pouring down and he was in a hurry, so it was natural that he'd slip his rubber boots on. As he stood at the mic and started the proceedings, he felt more and more comfortable and in fact he was really happy to be hosting the event with his rubber boots on. He got a few compliments about them and he knew that he was going to wear them a lot more often and he would never be embarrassed about wearing them again.
