and what‘s going on is aliens

so while they were sure aliens and shit existed for a while, the information wasn‘t known among newer recruits

the whole new york chitauri thing happens

and the entirety of spectrum gets a briefing on aliens

ruby is pumped, because she‘s a fucking nerd who claimes to have known her entire life

spectrum still focuses on other things tho, and life goes on

until one day... ruby gets called into a meeting

with some pretty important agents including lb

hitch, froghorn and blacker are all also there

and they‘re told they will work along „outside forces“ to „deal with a highly sensitive matter“

question marks all over their faces cuz they have no clue what‘s going on

then, the door opens

and in walks
