As that squeaky, irritating voice echoed in her ears, something in Susie's face twitched. Instead of acknowledging her at all, this guy just thought he could brush her off like she was nothing? Like what he did was nothing?

It was then that her body reacted without her control, as a pair of claws shot out; grabbing Spamton by the front of his jacket as Susie yanked his tiny body off the ground. Her face neared his, tresses of brown hair moving just enough for one of her yellow eyes to stare him down; glowering with all the building up rage that threatened to take her over at any second.

"Hey," she barked out again, fully baring her sharp, yellow teeth towards the puppet this time. Her jaws hung open, as if she could bend down and rip his head off at any time; but all she did was continue to speak. "Stop acting like you don't know me, you little freak. I kicked your ass back in the Dark World, and I'm not afraid to do it again in this one if I have to."

She stood like that for a moment, as if thinking over her choices, again, and again, and again--

.. until Susie sighed. The grip of her claws came loose as she backed off, releasing Spamton and letting him clamber back onto the ground.

".... nah. I'm not gonna hurt you. Kris.. would probably be mad at me if I did." Even despite what this guy did.. Kris still cared about him. For reasons she might never find out. "But I want you to know something, if they ever come back here."

She squatted down to the Darkner's height, then; not breaking eye contact with him for a second.

"Stay the fuck away from them. You have no god damned idea how badly you messed them up. I don't know about everything you talked about.. I don't even know how you're still standing. But I don't want to see them like that again. They don't deserve it."

.. like she was one to talk. Wasn't she the same as this guy? Someone who hurt Kris, again and again.. just to turn around and start calling them her friend? Just letting them forgive her, like she hadn't been bullying them for years?

At least she hadn't tried to kill them.. but part of her still felt like she was looking in a mirror as she threatened her former adversary, reminding herself.. that she hardly deserved her second-chance at all.

"If you do, that's when I'll hurt you. Got it?"

Spamton had been happy in his new life, happy to leave his past behind and build something new. Nobody really knew him here, they didn't know how far he'd fallen from grace nor the lengths he'd been willing to go to get it all back... okay, maybe there was one person who did, but he'd already been so biased towards the puppet that it hardly changed anything.

If Spamton never saw Kris again, as much as he wanted to, that would be fine by him. Still, he missed the little shit in his own weird way.

Susie, on the other hand...

The minute he saw her, panic began building. Spamton only knew the Lightner from their battle and he was horrendously aware of how that might've all looked to anyone not privy to his and Kris's shared predicaments. He also knew she was a threat to his new status-quo.

With nowhere to run (and the thought that running might be a bad idea, anyway) he was forced to turn his grin her way,

"H-HUH??? WHO??? [[Little Old Me]]???" He clacks his jaw hollowly, "JUST [livin' la vida loca]!!!!!! RUNNING SOME ERRORANDS!!!"

"WHY!?? YOU LOOKING TO BUY SOME THING??? IF SO, YOU'R [[$#!%]] OUTTA [[$#!%]]!!!! IM [off the clock]!!!! [WRONG, Try Again] TOMORROW!!! BUSINESS STARTS AT 5EVEN THIRTY IN THE A M"

It took Susie a minute, still standing behind the deer as she blinked widely at her reaction to her appearance, before she just burst out laughing. The monstrous, roaring sound that left causing her arms to drop away from Noelle's face; smoothing her bangs up and out of her eyes.

Were you supposed to ask 'guess who' when you did something like that? Susie guessed that, probably, any other person who snuck up on someone like that usually would.. but everyone was always afraid of her, whether she came up on them from the back or the front, so who the hell was she to know. It was just Susie's norm, to expect everyone to be afraid of her.

She was still getting used to the fact that Noelle didn't see Susie like everyone else did.

".. alright, y'got me there. Should've known that wouldn't work on you." But as the words left her, she realized-- did Noelle still not remember that conversation? Would it be.. weird, for Susie to say that? "I mean, uh.. y-yeah, so what?! That's the Susie way, so you better get used to it."

.. real smooth, monster girl.

Placing her hand on Noelle's shoulder then, Susie moved closer to the other girl's side to get a better look at her-- and what she was carrying in her bag. Christmas pudding..? In May? That was just like her too, but where the hell did she find that stuff this time of year?

"Shopping for sweets, huh? You already used to living in this place, or what?"

".. uh. Actually, how long have you been here, Noelle? If this is my first day, then.. did you get here before me?"

❄ Honestly, Noelle still didn't really know what to make of her "dream". It didn't really help that she'd ended up in the city right at the tail end, and she was able to access that form she'd had there through an app on her phone. Was this place an extension of that dream? Maybe she hadn't been dreaming at all. In the end, she'd decided to just carry on as normal. Thinking too hard about it was going to stress her out!

But the reindeer hadn't been thinking about any of that at the time. She'd just been out shopping and was returning home with a bag full of... Christmas pudding!? In May!?

She was stun-locked when her vision was suddenly impaired and a familiar voice said "Boo". There wasn't a doubt in her mind about whose voice that could be, but she also couldn't believe it. "S... Susie!?" Susie's hands were around her face!? Wait... "Aren't... you supposed to say "boo" when you're scaring someone? Shouldn't you ask "guess who?" in a situation like this?"

I had a vision

If Susie was aware of what day it was, it certainly wasn't obvious. Especially considering she'd spent most of it causing as much property damage as possible. If you saw her booking it down the street with her arms full of salsa jars and chalk.. well. Try not to worry about it.

"WHAT."

"YOU ALREADY KNOW????? WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING SOONER THEN."

The monster slapped a hand over her face, letting out a huge, monstrous sounding sigh of relief before she started roaring with laughter. Damn, what a weight off her shoulders! If she had any idea that Noelle had already talked to this kid, well.. she wouldn't have felt so weird from the start!

"I mean, man, you're not the first person I've met from.. I guess, your world? But I was still thinking of all these ways to tell you, and Noelle already did! The hell was I so worried for?"

Better that her classmate got to the bottom of it with Chara before Susie had a chance to, anyway-- Noelle was a lot better at being.. nice to people. Even if it was an awkward conversation to have, she probably did a way better job than Susie ever could. However, just as she thought everything was smoothed over..

Chara introduced themselves, and gave Susie their whole name. In an instant, she felt her entire body go cold.

.. scratch that earlier relief. This was still weird as hell.

"God, don't call me 'miss'." At least her kneejerk reaction was quieter this time, claws combing through her hair as she then crossed her arms over her chest. "Just Susie's fine. And you're.."

".. you're a Dreemurr. Did she.. did Noelle tell you that's Kris's last name, too? Who their parents are?"

Something clicks in Chara’s head. Her awkwardness, mentioning knowing someone who almost has their face..

“— oh. I see. You must be from the same world as Miss Noelle, then. You must be talking about this ‘Kris’ person.”

Susie clearly didn’t have to worry about upsetting this kid. Frankly, Chara is… a little relieved that none of the people that have shown up here are the ones from their world.

(No risk of disappointing them.)

They pin a smile up on their face. They have to be polite, after all, even if they are strangers.

“Greetings, Miss Susie. My name is Chara Dreemurr. It is nice to meet you. I apologize for startling you. It was unintentional.”

"Damn, this cafe sucks. Who the hell serves books with their coffee??"

Not that Susie had bought any, or had any intention to. Somehow, her attention had solely been dragged away from the front menu of Cafe December, right over to their book section. With an eyebrow raised, she perused the shelves, hesitant to reach out and touch anything-- knowing that if she was back at home, a certain someone would've made fun of her to hell and back for even being near something that resembled a library.

"Can't believe they made a whole nerd coffee shop. Ralsei'd fit right in." Eventually, she picked up a rather non-descript book; flipping through the pages loudly and without care before she lifted it above her head as she tilted it back, opening her jaws, like she was about to.. eat it..??

Well, until she felt someone looking straight at her, which prompted her to stop immediately.

"The hell're you looking at? Can't a girl eat a whole book in peace?"

"Wh-- huh??"

As if the entire interaction was a farce, Susie's facial expression changed within an instant; her widened eyes peeking right through her bangs as she blinked once, then twice. Well.. that was unexpected. She'd never been on the receiving end of this before-- last time, she'd freaked out Undyne by assuming she was a cop, and Asgore by.. .. well, a few things. Mostly for thinking that one was Kris's dad. But now, suddenly, she looked like someone this kid knew..?

Could they be.. from the world that was like hers, but different?

...

Man, she really didn't think she'd be dealing with this again. Not this early after she got here.

"... I look like someone you knew, and we've got the same name?" Well, sort of. "That's kinda.. weird, huh. For a second.. I thought you might've been someone I know, too."

.. how far should she have gone with this? They were.. just a kid. Part of her knew she'd feel even worse making them uncomfortable versus a couple of adults. Besides, even if those monsters were from her world, too.. she'd never considered she might be part of theirs.

"But, uh. It's 'Susie'. More soo, and less.. zee?" She grinned down at the human, albeit awkwardly, as she stuck a hand in the pocket of her torn up jeans. "What's your name, kid?"

They had been picking out something for a snack. They wanted to surprise Vash and Mr Nicolas with something for dessert, so Chara has been staring at the storefronts, trying to figure out which one has the right snacks they need.

The voice calls out to them, and Chara turns their head. It sounds — familiar, and they come face to face with —

“—?”

That’s … Frisks friend? that they just met … right before the official journey to the surface. The one the clam girl told them about.

Chara’s face stays carefully neutral as they look her —

ha.

yeah, right.

“Suzy?”

As if their feelings could stay hidden.

— immediately, though, Chara stiffens. A hand comes to cover their mouth, but the laugh spills out anyway.

“— oh! I apologize … I was mistaken. You look like someone … I kmew.”

It would hurt less to be left out by mistake than to be willingly given up. Face it, you're viewed as expendable. (And would i be lying if i said you view yourself as that too?)

A name almost slipped from her maws when she saw them, alert and excited and relieved all at once. However, the closer she looked, the more she realized it wasn't who she hoped it was; despite the way their hair fell (even if it was a little neater), and the colour of their sweater screamed in similar ways to Kris.

But this was... just a kid. A pretty pale looking kid, way paler than her friend. They were small, younger than she was, but still so familiar in a way that almost gave her goosebumps.

Weird.

Still, Susie knew better by now than to just call out to people she assumed she knew. She got taught that lesson twice the last time she was here.. and even if she pretended like she didn't care, she was starting to get a little sick of accidentally upsetting people.

Maybe she still would, somehow. She was pretty good at that.

"What, you never seen a big, purple monster before?" Figured they'd catch her staring eventually, but Susie intended to do her best to cover it up; even if she had to go the inevitable way of freaking them out. Another thing she was usually good at.

"Heh. C'mon. I won't bite."

...

"Nah, maybe I will. Haven't eaten a thing since I got here-- lucky for me that I found you."

Kris made this place tolerable the last time she was here. Even though they were missing Ralsei, even though their adventures had come to a standstill, they were still able to continue them in a somehow weirder way; and as the days rolled into months, the monster found herself grateful that their friendship had not waned for even a second. What she worried might not last because of how she'd always treated them only grew in strength, knowing that she wouldn't have been nearly having as much fun if they weren't still by her side.

Yet in that moment, Susie was glad Kris hadn't followed her back to Spirale this time.

She stared the puppet down, bangs obscuring the look in her eyes as she closed in on him. Taking step by step, inch by inch, to bridge the gap between them. The claws at her side twitched, remembering how shaken Kris was after their encounter with this guy; the weird shit he spouted affecting them for a while, even though she and Ralsei had gotten them to smile, just for a small moment.

'Maybe it meant nothing', she remembered Ralsei saying. But that wasn't the case for Kris. Even if they never told her, she could tell the entire time.

So why the fuck was he here, when that weird body of his broke apart? After she and the others literally watched him disappear? Was this some sort of sick joke?

She missed Kris already, but the last thing they needed was.. this.

"What," she enunciated with an almost bark, her teeth just barely beginning to bare themselves in his direction. "the hell are you doing here."

Just like before, Susie hadn't come to this weird place alone-- and there was no denying how relieved she was when a familiar pair of antlers and brightly coloured Christmas sweater came into view. Without thinking, she almost rushed to Noelle, wanting to greet her in the same explosive way she had in the past, but..

.. that's right. Noelle remembered things a little differently last time. Like all that dream talk had really gotten to her.. and she'd forgotten about their adventures together in the Dark World, even though they hadn't even left yet from Susie's memory. Was it still the same, even though she remembered seeing Noelle only minutes prior to arriving here?

Maybe she should do it.. a little differently this time. So she didn't confuse Noelle, or freak her out.

Apparently the best way she could think to do that was to sneak up behind her, cover her eyes with both of her giant claws, while a huge grin spread across her face.

"Boo."
