like. Kris' family and friends all split up or vanished. They presumably went through something traumatic and maybe closed themself off from people. They don't seem to be close friends with anyone in town. They're currently actively being possessed and therefore lack the agency to reach out and connect with people.

Susie has always been ostracized for being "bad" or "scary". She seems to have moved towns a lot and only moved to Hometown recently so she doesn't really know anyone. She's implied to have a bad home life. She's accepted being alone and being seen as scary as inevitable.

Ralsei has lived alone in an empty castle his whole life with nothing but the knowledge that someday he'll make friends to hold onto. Even with those friends he believes himself to be disposable and insignificant and believes that they will someday leave him. He thinks he's a bad person for even wanting to have friends because wanting things is selfish.

Lancer never had real friends, only people one of his dads forced to spend time with him. He only ever got respect because his parents were in positions of power. Everyone thinks he's weird or annoying.

Noelle lost her sister, her dad is ill and can't be home, and her mother… has not given us a great first impression. She's not very close to the Dreemurrs anymore. She's friends with Berdly and Catti and maybe Jockington (by extension of Catti + track team?) but not particularly close given that Kris and her dad were the only people she ever felt comfortable saying "no" to.
