Mental patients and the disabled need jobs

Mental illnesses are health conditions involving changes in emotion, thinking or behavior (or a combination of these). Mental illnesses are associated with distress and/or problems functioning in social, work or family activities.  The disabled definition is impaired or limited by a physical, mental, cognitive, or developmental condition: affected by disability. In fact, there are many such patients around us. But almost all of them are difficult to cure. This has had a great impact on their daily lives. Depressed mood, unable to take care of yourself, no job opportunities, and lack of communication will all form a vicious circle.

one in 24 (4.1 percent) has a serious mental illness*

one in 12 (8.5 percent) has a diagnosable substance use disorder

About 1 in 6 (17%) children aged 3–17 years were diagnosed with a developmental disability, as reported by parents, during a study period of 2009-2017. These included autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, blindness, and cerebral palsy, among others.

Final Reproduction 

Harpers Bazaar Magazine Cover by Ruth Ansel is a classic magazine work. Since the avatar I downloaded in Dreamstime is a very modern makeup, I defined the style to be modern based on the original composition. Only the title and characters added a noise filter to mix and match with the retro feel.

First, when adjusting the character, I used the symmetry tool to modify the outline. Then adjust the curve to make the color and shading closer to the original image. Use the clipping mask to draw the white clothes in the lower right corner. Create a blue rectangle, change the blending mode to Vivid Light, and place it on the eye area. In order to improve the similarity, I use Liquify tool to change the shape of the eyebrows and make them lift up.

The pink "helmet" uses the ellipse tool to match the cutout and distortion. The font used for the text is Didot. All colors are taken from the original image with the eyedropper tool.

      This picture is my first Photoshop exercise. I mainly used the clipping mask and the magnetic lasso tool. I think the magnetic lasso tool is very suitable for pictures with clear color boundaries. You need to zoom in the picture at the fuzzy area, and then keep left-clicking to get the line you want. 

      I chose to use bright colors and beach to express the sense of summer holiday. In addition, use multiply and filters to make the other two images appear darker. In this way, it contrasts with the bright background. For the food, I also lowered the saturation so that I can see the banana through it.

Hello everyone, my name is Ruijie.  

I am a student at SUNY-Brockport as graphic design major. I will blog some of my design works and daily exercises here.
