I am Rumil, an elf and Marchwarden of Lothlorien. I am the youngest of three brothers, both of whom are also protectors of the Golden Wood. I speak little Common Tongue, but I am trying to learn more. ((Independent LOTR RP blog for Rumil. I track the tag rumiloflothlorien. Artwork by Nyangsam))

He looked up at Haldir, frowning. "Don't say that. You are the best. Where would Orophin and I be without you?"
Rúmil leaned up then, and pressed a kiss to Haldir’s cheek. “I know I have your love. And I hope you know that you have mine.” He kissed his cheek once more then pulled back, giving his brother a wide smile.

Haldir glanced out of the corner of his eyes, shame festering in the pit of his stomach. He crossed his arms over his chest, as if to provide a barrier between them.
"I saw in a dream that I had lost you," he murmured, the volume of his voice dropping.

"It was just a dream, brother. You haven't lost me and you won't lose me." He looked up at Haldir, trying to give him a reassuring smile. "I'm not going anywhere." Not if he could help it, that was.

A frown settled upon Rúmil's lips and he stared at Haldir in confusion. What had he done to cause such a reaction? His shoulders sagged a little and he shook his head.
"No. Tell me. I'm sorry I didn't understand what you meant, but I never will if you just...drop things like this."
Rúmil’s reaction stung Haldir, and he dropped the embrace as if burnt. This wasn’t the meeting he had hoped, no not at all. Perhaps it was not too late to brush it aside.
"Never you mind." The corners of his mouth twisted in a grimace, and he looked away. "It was merely a fleeting thought."

Rúmil stood frozen for a moment, more than a little bewildered by Haldir's strange behavior. What had gotten into his older brother?
"What do you mean? I don't understand."
"Haldir…"
Rúmil sighed softly, frowning at the statement. “You shouldn’t worry. I’m not unhappy here with you and Orophin. It’s all I’ve ever known. Where else would I go, anyway, even if I was?”

"Haldir..."
Rúmil sighed softly, frowning at the statement. "You shouldn't worry. I'm not unhappy here with you and Orophin. It's all I've ever known. Where else would I go, anyway, even if I was?"
The question caught him off guard, and he stared at Haldir, unsure of how to answer. Was he happy? He’d never thought too much about his happiness, really. He supposed he was at least content.
"I— well. I guess so. I’m at least content. Why?"

"—Maybe."
"Is that so? Are you trying to woo me, Elrohir?"

wardenofthewood replied to your post “Rúmil,” Haldir inquired softly from their common talan.”
He stood from the chair with an unreadable expression. “Come.”
The younger warden gave Haldir an unsure look, yet he obeyed his eldest brother, moving to stand before him. “Yes?”

"Rúmil," Haldir inquired softly from their common talan.
Rúmil poked his head out of his room, then padded into the common talan. "Yes, muindor?"

Rúmil's shoulders sagged a little as he recalled his brother's face, effectively being taken down a notch by the image. "Yes, I saw it. It's just so frustrating though." He was old enough to make his own decisions and he hated how Haldir seemed to belittle them.
He giggled a little at that, giving his brother an almost too sweet smile. “Of course you won’t, Orophin. I’ll be on my best behavior. I’ll apologize as soon as he does.” And not a minute sooner.

"And if one didn’t feel like walking? How would one get home then?"
He glanced over his shoulder at his king, an eyebrow raised. It was more that he was a bit sore and less that he didn’t truly feel like walking back to the talan he shared with his brothers. His brothers that would surely be looking for him soon. Never the less he dropped his tunic, moving to settle back onto the bed instead.
“—I’ll stay a little while longer, I think."
"How am I gonna get myself back home?"

Amdír hummed for a moment, pretending to contemplate the deeply troubling issue.
"I assume one could walk, if that is the means by which one arrived." He pulled his arms over his head, stretching them until he heard a resounding pop. "Or one could stay." He settled back into the oversized bed, patting the space beside him.
"There is knowing what action to take, but sometimes true wisdom, young one, is knowing when not to act at all."

"Then, will you not go speak with him? He has likely calmed now." Orophin raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps you will come to understand each other if you do not hear it through me."
