Well, if he were honest, there were countless things he could list that he liked about Rumi. Like how her patterns glowed when their skin touched. How her eyes softened when she looked at him. The way she spoke—how her voice brought peace, grounding him with every word.

Really. He could go on. Her strength. Her leadership. Her bravery. Even the way she wore her shame so openly—no longer weighed down by it, but almost proud of the scars she bore, how she gave him the chance to remember what it meant to have a soul. How she was the one who saw him. ❝ I like... your... ❞ A pause. That sudden thump in his chest as he scrambles to redirect the words threatening to spill out. ❝ ...personality. ❞

the way i had my askbox title blank until @jyeonghon and @idolallure meme'd the fuck out of something we were watching and i didn't even have rumi up yet 😭🤚

that askbox title will never change from that, by the way. and if you guys ever wondered who are the true culprits were the reason my askbox title is "banned: jinu and romance". (points to the tagged) IT'S THEM ONLY.

rumi knew they were not invincible. no matter how many years they had trained, there would be mishaps such as these, however, she didn’t expect it to get this bad. she swore to herself that she would do anything in her power to ensure the safety of mira and zoey.

when mira firmly said no, her eyebrows furrowed; rumi knew it wasn’t going to be easy to convince mira to leave her so that the two females can run to safety.

   “mira, listen to me!”   she yelled with desperation in her voice, despite the strength gradually dwindling, weakness weighed down her – nearly like a suffocating blanket, but she carried on, she needed mira to know, this wasn’t an option anymore.

she lifted her hand, resting her palm against mira’s cheek, her eyes locked in on the other’s.   “you and zoey have to. trust me. i’m not going to go down so easily, you know this –”   her eyes widen briefly from a sharp intake of breath, but she chuckled, albeit weakly.

   “i need you and zoey to trust me.”   her voice firm as she repeated albeit the energy within her fluctuated.   “get to safety – protect the honmoon,”   her eyes now determined,   “this isn’t the only place they’re going to attack, don’t forget. can i trust you two to do this for me? i swear, mira. i won’t lose.”

IT WASN'T MEANT TO HAPPEN LIKE THIS .

Actually, it wasn't meant to happen at all. Mira had thought with all the years of experience and training that the three had, such circumstances would never come into play. It was a promise, said to mostly herself, that she'd do anything to keep both Rumi and Zoey safe -- and as she stares down at their leader, dread only continues to feed into her veins.

Mira only breaks out of her thoughts when she feels Rumi's hand on top of hers. " No. " Her voice is firm, head shaking along side her answer as squeezes tighter. They're a trio, not a duo. Concern soon laces her features once more as Rumi coughs, and Mira longs to be able to ease the visible pain from her.

" I can't leave you, Rumi. " Finally her voice cracks, raw and emotion flooding through. She chokes back her own cry, the desire to remain strong ever prominent even in such a dire moment. " Neither can Zoey, you know that. "

Sure, Mira hasn't a clue to how they're getting out of this situation quite yet, but she's refusing to budge until she knows all three are leaving. Together.

not all demons were monsters. not all. but the ones they were facing were, and rumi couldn't think straight. it was if gwi-ma managed to get into her head, the energy from the demons reaching out to her, binding her and even threatening to pull her down into the realm of the demons, but one person kept her grounded and far from the clutches of gwi-ma.

she winced, the blood continues pilling as she applied pressure to the wound. this wasn't how things were supposed to go. the honmoon did have a huge gap, of course, but it wasn't something they couldn't handle. so why -- why!? -- was this happening?

she noticed the demons getting closer; it was now or never. rumi shook her head, her hand raising to rest on top of mira's, her eyes then scanning around for zoey. "if you and zoey don't get out of here soon, you'll both die. and i can't --" she winced once more, coughing slightly, though her eyes glowed with determination.

"i won't allow them to take the two most important people in the world from me."

rumi scrunched up her nose and furrowed her brows upon zoey saying that, she scoffed and waved her hand dismissively, "i know how to relax." she seemed to want to convince herself — in actuality, she didn't know what that was, given that this was simply the norm for her that she was used to - accustomed to - she couldn't help it.

she puffed out the poked cheek then let it relax, a small smile etching along her tiers as she looked at zoey. "well, if it's you two, i know it's gonna be fun." she nodded, her eyes shifting towards the couch, though her eyes immediately drift down to her phone, looking at the social numbers, much like bobby would, then like clockwork, her eyes scan through the unfinished lyrics to future songs.

"Of course! It is time for something you seem to not know what the definition is. Relaxation." She emphasised on the last word lightly poking at Rumi's cheek. "So we are gonna spend a good long time teaching it to you. Miss Workaholic." Zoey pulled away from her arm with a grin. "And yes Mira is gathering the snacks. First mission of Operation: Rumi needs to chill! We're chilling on the couch playing video games."

ough. you know... it's on the storyboard, even if it didn't make the cut, i am going to snag it and make it into my rumi because i truly do love the concept of rumi fighting her demons, discovering or even being guided to her father's grave and there, he had given rumi a blue flower that evidently transforms into the sword she wields to slay demons. like the thought of father aiding not only rumi, but rumi's mother as hunters is so compelling to me.

whilst i'm sad to know that it's confirmed by maggie, that the movie was meant to be the way it is — how we didn't get the orgins because to the directors, they wanted to introduce the girls at their prime, whilst focusing on rumi's side of it. i still think the storyboards were released for the curious and creatives. whether canon or not, we can take those scenes they provided and weave the story of the ones we portray in our own way.

thus, allowing the creativity to continue flowing.

but, this also means that a prequel and/or sequel is definitely a high possibility, becaue they did say in order to keep the movie consistent, they definitely did have to remove the origins of mira and zoey + consolidate rumi's story, so i'm excited to see what they have for us next.

but me thinking about rumi going through interviews and performances of the sunlight sisters just to see her mother, hear her, and see how she was when performing, etc. to get some idea of who her mother was as a person. because she was her role model, she looked up to her mother even when she never got to meet her.

rumi gave zoey a knowing look; weighing her options on whether to continue teasing her or not, even remembering to when she first seen the demon boys with the girls, of course, evidently she decided against it.

"whatever you say, zoey~" she smiled, then peered at the female once she clinged to her arm. it made rumi reach out to gently pat her head, adoration in her eyes, "true, so i'm guessing you've got a whole plan ready to go? are we dragging mira with us?"

"I do?" Zoey wiped at him mouth, searching for any source of the so called drool that was come from her lips. It was most definitely the fault of her little doodle of Mystery, that she may or may not have put extra care and effort into drawing. And maybe just maybe had several of them in said note book. Maybe.

"Did I get it?" dropping her hand once feeling nothing to wipe. "It is target practice!" That wasn't a total lie. Some of the drawings had little pencil holes. Some large Xs. Some were doodles of different ways of taking them out. Her little strategy book.

"Anywaaaaaay." she shot up from her spot on the floor bouncing on her toes, before clinging to Rumi's arm. "We've got a bit of break! Let's make the most of it!"

she held her breath, hoping to the gods that zoey doesn't copy the same thing from jinu and romance, sighing contently after — she knew she could trust her.

playfully, she peered over her shoulder and chuckled, squinting at the two males after, her arms crossed over her chest, "have they been bothering you, zoey? we could practice our hunting skills~"
