Giving a small smile, they said "Thanks." They'd had that lighter for a long ass time--in fact, it wasn't even originally theirs but instead, their foster-mom's. She was quite the witchy woman herself and she'd given it to Aurelia as a gift. The moon tarot card helped to remind Relia that things were always changing and more often than not, things were not always as they seemed. Just like the moon, people went through phases. It was always good to keep in mind.
"Thank you," they said, taking the cigarette and the lighter. Lighting their own cancer stick, they took a drag as they shrugged in response to the blonde's question. "Eh, can't complain, I guess. It's been a pretty quiet day at the shop but I don't really mind that. What about you? How's your day going?" Zelda certainly intrigued them--she seemed like such a mystery and Relia didn't know the exact details of how life had brought the blonde to where she was now but they had an inkling that it had something to do with her shady family.
zelda finally looks up, noticing that it's relia she's happened to sit next to. what are the odds? she offers them a small smile, nodding her head when they greet her. she takes the lighter from them, looking it over for a moment to appreciate the design. "cute," she remarks, smirking at the sight before using it to spark the cigarette.
"yeah of course," she nods and pulls the pack back out, retrieving a single smoke and handing it over to them, along with the lighter they'd lent her. "how's your day been so far, hm?" she asks curiously before taking a deep inhale and blowing it out the side of her mouth.
she's always found relia to be an interesting person, having gotten to know them through cyrek. they aren't especially close by any means, though zelda wouldn't mind getting to know them more.

Do you believe in god(s)? Do you go to church or religious celebrations often?
"No, definitely not. I mean, I certainly worship a few deities but as far as, like, traditional religion goes? Absolutely not. However, I find a lot of peace and healing in my craft, as corny as that may sound to people."

Is there anything that you collect? Hobbies? Do you share with others what you do/make or is it not their business?
"Ohhh yeah, I collect a lot of shit, actually. Well, it's not shit to me, but--you get it. I collect tarot decks, I collect crystals, I collect all different colors of candles. After all, you never know what you may need for a spell. Oh, and tea. I love tea. I guess you could call witchcraft a hobby but it's really more than that to me, it's very spiritual. And yeah, I definitely share with others--in fact, I have a whole store full of this stuff! You should stop by."

Relia was on their lunch break and with one of their employees manning the register, they figured they might as well get some fresh air after being cooped up all day. Of course, they loved their store and they were proud of it but it was still a job. It was most likely already a 100 degrees out but even so, they took the opportunity to stretch their legs a bit.
As they made their way over to a nearby bench, they recognized the blonde almost immediately and if they were being honest, they were shocked she was even outside. Up until just a few weeks ago, Zelda had been laying low and it was a little odd getting used to seeing her out on the street. The two had gotten to know each other due to their time with the Cactus Cats. "Hey Zelda," they said softly with the faintest of smiles, taking a seat next to her. When the blonde inquired about a lighter, Relia nodded and dug through their bag for a moment, a second later holding out their lighter: a black lighter with white outlining with a picture of the moon tarot card that read 'La Lune.' "I'll lend you a light if you lend me a smoke," they said, a small smirk on their face. It seemed like a pretty fair trade, right? Besides, it wouldn't be the first time. They weren't necessarily super close but they were all fighting for the same cause, weren't they? Besides, if Cy trusted her, so did Relia. They trusted their friend's intuition.
when: evening, anytime in june
where: downtown vegas
it had been a rather uneventful day for her, just slinking around in the shadows until the sun finally goes down and she's able to roam the streets a little more freely. she's still laying low, though, but sometimes it just gets too stuffy in her apartment or even in her office, so she just needs to get a little bit of fresh air. she stops at a bench, taking a seat next to someone already there.
pulling a cigarette from the pack, she brings it up to her lips. the blonde doesn't usually smoke, but she's been a little stressed lately so why not indulge in a little nicotine to take the edge off. of course, though, just her luck-- the lighter she picked up is a dud. either out of fluid or just doesn't work, who knows.
turning her head slightly to the person next to her, she sighs. "you got a light by any chance?" she mumbles around the cigarette, not quite looking at them.

Getting to watch some of their dearest friends enjoying one of the best days of their lives had filled Relia with so much happiness--and it suddenly made them realize that they'd experienced a lot more joy themselves in the last year than they maybe had their entire life. At face value, the statement may sound a little sad but they were actually quite grateful for it. Better late than never, right? Cyrek and Stella were now officially wed, even though everyone knew they were destined to be together in this life and the next; their own love had graciously given them another chance and though they might not go around singing it from the rooftops, they were most certainly in love with Andrea Weber; yet, there was still a piece that was missing--though they think that they might've finally found it.
They'd seen Salem earlier at the party and they'd wanted to say hi but they didn't know how. They felt kind of stupid, unsure of how to approach someone that was technically their friend--but how did you tell someone who was currently only a bit more than an acquaintance that they were actually your sister? Taking a deep breath, they put on a smile and approached the witch. "Hey, how's it goin'?" they said, already feeling awkward. Jesus. "You having fun?"

cytella wedding: the look

Relia hadn't yet gotten a moment to talk with Cy so when they saw him meandering with a plate of food, they took their opportunity to talk with their old friend. Honestly, as far as they were concerned, he and Stella should've been married already--it was about damn time. But all jokes aside, Relia felt so special that Andrea and them had been invited to partake in the reception. It was really special to see love and commitment being celebrated in such a lovely way--and it really made the witch start to think about what they wanted long-term. Hottest weddin' you've ever been to in the west? Laughing, they said "Actually, it's the only wedding ever I've been to--in the west or anywhere else. So... I guess the answer is yes." Nodding in agreement, they said "Oh, your girl looks incredible--and so do you! Honestly, y'all did so great with all of it." They almost said that they loved the Beeltejuice vibes because of the stripes that he was adorning but they weren't sure if he'd take it as a compliment or not. Seeing Cyrek so damn happy was a little jarring to be honest--but in the best way. If anyone deserved a fucking break and some god damn happiness, it was Cy and Stella. "No, I have not--but I'll keep an eye out," they chuckled, amused at him. Honestly, they were surprised that he seemed to have such an appetite but they weren't going to question it. "Dude, of course--congratulations! I can't believe you're fuckin' married," they smiled.
@boneyardstarters on june 10th, 1996, at the neon museum, anytime after 5:30PM
Luckily for the pair of goth-adjacent punks, their wedding was appropriately themed, so wearing the darkest pair of sunglasses he owned for his own reception was not out of the realm of befitting, closing the umbrella he had been hoisting over his head when he finally took a load-off from meandering through the throng of guests with a plate of cheese, crackers and grapes from the snacks laid out, and a glass of ginger ale he'd poured from a bottle that was admittedly warmed past its intended temperature on the dash of his truck. "Hottest weddin' you've ever been to in the west?" the groom challenged the unlucky person who had to tolerate his company, although, he possibly resembled more of his entertainer's persona than he had in years, if only for how blistering his happiness was that it couldn't be dampened by his thoughts nor any minor inconveniences, for the most part. "I meant the weather but... if you've seen the bride..." A wolf whistle through his chipped and crooked teeth, the fluttering beat of butterfly wings battering his chest made his head light, and he had to sink his hands to rest on the pedestal of his chin for a good minute. Cartoon hearts could've popped out of his eyes spotting in her struggling through the guests in her black dress and her veil traded for the cloth braided into her hair, wiggling his fingers in Stella's direction and then snapping himself back to focus on chatting up the people who had bothered to attend his reception ( it wasn't an insult, he wasn't expecting so many damn people to show up — since when did they know half of the city? ) "Hey, have you seen that tray of bem casados around here? I was thinkin' of stealin' one before I have any of the entrees — Sorry, I'm all over the place." Sticking out his hand, Cyrek's grin was on display flashier than any of the out-of-commission neon signs behind him in the outdoor museum. "Thanks for comin', by the way."

Pulling Andrea a bit closer, they smiled and let out a soft laugh, just imagining Sooty running around and wreaking havoc. "Oh, please--Sooty has never done anything wrong in her entire life. I'll stake my life on that, especially since she's finally warmed up to me," she laughed. When Andrea asked for help with moving some of the records, Aurelia lit up and said "Yeah, I'd love to help! Just let me know when." Reaching over and tucking a piece of blonde hair behind her ear, they felt their stomach toss when they thought about what they'd been wanting to ask. "Actually, speaking of your apartment, I was wondering: when is your lease up? I know you've told me before but I couldn't remember..."
Andrea couldn't be happier in her life at that moment, she had a great job and a partner that she had always dreamt of being with once more. She had always believed in second chances and Relia had become such a big part of her life that she couldn't let them go. She nodded her head in reply, letting a small chuckle escaped her red lips. "Yeah, I have to make sure that they are in a safe place because of a certain for legged creature that loves to play with everything in sight." She loved her cat, but Sooty made her place her playground, apart from Andrea's bedroom so she was keeping the records in there for now. "I think that they will be finished up soon, like in the next week or two, I might need a hand getting the record to the store, wanna help out, lunch will be on me of course."

Letting out a chuckle, they looked at their friend and said "Shit, I guess that's true--but can you really blame them?" Nope, the Sex Pistols had been spot on, both about the U.S. as well as the queen. Score one for the anarchists, they supposed. Relia themselves tried not to think too hard about politics and the like--it was all the same shit anyways, when you really got down to it. They stifled another chuckle when Cyrek made an attempt to say 'Appalachia.' Still, even though he couldn't say it, it didn't mean he was wrong. "Dude, you couldn't pay me enough to go out to the East Coast--those people are fucking crazy. It's probably just banjos playing, constantly. Ugh," they said, literally shuddering at the thought. Sure, they may live in the wild west but it was not the same as the south. "Well, I take that back--I'd go to New Orleans but that's about it. Otherwise, no thank you." They couldn't help but smile when he lit up about the wedding--they weren't used to seeing him so giddy. Sure, he might not be physically jumping for joy but he was in his own way, especially given how far he'd come. "Oh, y'all will be able to choose, you'll find the right ones. But what do you mean two songs? You've got the first dance one but what's the other one?" To be fair, Relia didn't really know too much about weddings, nor did they really care to. "I think it's romantic," they said nonchalantly, looking down at their inventory book that was lying on the counter. "Shit, I've gotta' find something to wear," they said, almost to themselves. "Oh, um... Weird, random question, but are you cool if I bring Andrea as my date? Or are plus-ones a no-go? I'm fine either way, I was just wondering." After all, they weren't about to insist on bringing a plus-one if they didn't want that, that was rude--however, they loved the idea of getting all dressed up with their girlfriend and dancing at a wedding for one of their dearest friends. "Hey, if you need help making shit, I'd love to lend a hand! I mean, I don't know too much about all you need for weddings but I sure can follow directions so just let me know!"
"I don't think the movement's gonna die if it's hung on since the Pistols barfed on the States in '78." Saying a lot that he was willing to shit on a group from a continent he'd rather be living on right about now, tightening the knot in the red bandana tied around his neck and sitting uselessly on Aurelia's check-out counter without lifting a finger. ( His new motto was that he didn't have to provide aid to a business that wasn't his, now that he was taking on the exhaustive project of redoing the entirety of a dilapidated storefront to call his own off the Strip. ) "Could be worse. We could be livin' in the, uh, Appalachia," severely butchered in his mediocre grasp on English, the heels of his boots thumping against the counter when he swung them absently, looking out the glass display at the shoppers passing by, humming. A loose grin was apt to slip onto his countenance, the mere mention of the upcoming wedding fluttering his chest, whether it was from a fellow Cactus Cat or a regular at the bar that would normally make him want to bash his head right through the counter. "I think it's goin' great, 'cept we're still pickin' the two songs. I think I've listened to Alkaline Trio's entire discography like... more than I have when I was spendin' my time layin' on my bedroom floor in my own puke." Not a joke that Stella would appreciate if she were there. "...It's nice. Y'know. Listenin' to it now that I kinda have a brain again? And with her. Um. It's romantic. Or... I think it is." Drumming his fingers against the counter, a lighter wrapped up in one palm, he looked back at them, and to the inventory that their eyes were glued to. "June 10th. What's today? Shit, is it really two months from now? I think we're gonna spend our anniversary makin' the DIY shite for the tables 'cause it'll be two weeks away."
#lol love that they went from being a wedding planner to just knowing nothing at all#but i really feel like this suits them so much better#forever loving these two

Relia smiled as they sat down on the couch with their love. Everything just felt so content and perfect right now--and honestly, the witch was trying to bask in it as long as they possibly could. Even though they'd been making an effort to be more open ever since they'd been granted a second chance with Andrea, they still had the fear in the back of their mind that one day, it could all just go away. Chuckling at the blonde's words, they said "Wait, you still have all of those records just stacked up in your house?" There was a part of them that thought it was a little silly that Andrea was tasked with basically keeping the store's stock in her home--but then again, it certainly couldn't be at Cy and Stella's, especially not with all the kids running around. "Do they have an idea of when renovations will be finished?"
Andrea was cuddled up on Aurelia's couch, she loved being over in their cottage, it was so cosy and inviting to the blonde. That afternoon was time for playing catch up, even though it had only been a few days, it seemed like forever since they saw one another. "Thank you dear." She smiled from the kiss on her forehead as she took the mug from their hands, taking a small tip of the hot tea. She was glad that the two of them had gotten back together, she had missed being with them. "They are coming along great, should be opened back soon, but that doesn't stop working for me, the amount of records I have in my place to look over is making it look like I'm starting up my own store." She couldn't help but chuckle.

Standing at the counter of their store, Aurelia was busy scanning in new merchandise while they talked to Cy. They had just gotten in a new shipment of rose quartz crystals and they were hoping that these would be a hit, especially now that they were fully in spring and Beltane next month. "I swear, if I hear one more damn thing about 'satanic panic,' I'm going to lose it. I mean, I know the notion of witchcraft scares some people but if they only knew that really, it's just a bunch of candles and pretty crystals, maybe they'd chill the fuck out about it." Needless to say, Aurelia was tired of people whining about nothing. Looking over at their friend, they said "So how is wedding planning going? Are y'all getting ready for the big day? It's gonna' be in June, right?" Relia was quite happy for the couple, especially given all that they'd been through. They were also happy at the prospect that they were going to be able to bring their girlfriend, Andrea, to the wedding as their date.

BIOGRAPHY
EARLY BEGINNINGS
Aurelia was born on May 7, 1964 in Las Vegas, Nevada to their parents. From the beginning, things were tough for the Johnsons. Money was in short supply and their parents were not well-adjusted. Relia's mother struggled with addiction issues while their father was an abusive alcoholic. When Relia was 2, their younger sister, Hyacinth, was born and the two quickly became thick as thieves
Their father had quite the temper and would often take his anger out on his wife and his daughters. Aurelia learned how to determine the sound of their father's mood through the sound of his footfalls, never wanting to do anything that might incur his wrath
However, the abuse wasn't just physical. When Relia was 6, their father began sexually abusing them and this was a secret that they kept to themselves for a very long time. They wanted to tell their mother but terrified that their father would also hurt Hyacinth, they kept quiet
When Relia was 10, they received their first-ever vision--and it was terrifying. They envisioned Hyacinth being beaten to death by their father. At first, they chalked it up to simply a horrible, horrifying dream, a manifestation of their anxiety. Until it happened. One night, their father, drunk and angry, went after Relia's little sister and they literally watched their vision come true. They had tried to protect their sister and step in but to no avail. To this day, they blame themselves for their sister's death
Hyacinth's death was the catalyst to Relia making it out of that house of horrors. After their sister's death, they were taken away from their family and put into foster care. Though the system wasn't much safer, Relia's experiences had turned them steely and detached
A NEW FOUND FAMILY
The first few foster homes Relia had been sent to weren't much good. First, they were with a mean lady that already had six other foster kids because she was only interested in collecting the checks. Next, they went to a house with a couple that acted nice at first but then essentially turned Relia into their personal servant. However, finally, they were placed with an older woman who was a bit different
When Aurelia first arrived at Juniper's house, they were fourteen and angry. They were closed off and they were insistent upon making Juniper's life as difficult as possible. After all, what the fuck did they have to lose? Their sister was gone, their vile father was locked up in prison, and their mother was barely hanging on by a thread with no chance of even fighting to get her daughter back. They felt dirty and broken so what was the point of trying to make everyone else's lives so easy? They figured that Juniper would be mean and hate their surly attitude and maybe they could be placed somewhere else. They just needed these next four years to get done and over with
However, instead of losing her temper or requesting that Aurelia be taken to another home, Juniper was kind and patient. She seemed to have sympathy for what the young teenager had been through. in fact, though it took a little prodding, Juniper encouraged Aurelia to go to therapy and talk about what they'd been through and she'd even offered to pay for it out of pocket. It was in therapy that they were diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and CPTSD
Relia also noticed that Juniper was a bit...odd. For example, she kept all of these little figurines around her house, she was always burning incense, and she had these weird cards. They weren't playing cards but instead, they had different people with strange names like the 'Hanged Man' or the 'Hierophant.' As they began to open up a bit, they learned that these were tarot cards and Juniper began to teach them their ways
As it turns out, Juniper was a witch. At first, Relia thought this was rather odd but their foster mother slowly but surely began to model how the young teenager could use certain practices in witchcraft, like meditation and channeling their emotions, to help them begin to heal. Even though they thought the idea of being a witch was rather silly at first, they appreciated the effort that their foster mother was making
What really solidified their relationship was when one night, Aurelia woke up in a cold sweat. their chest heaving. They had envisioned their mother overdosing, all alone in that same, horrible house. Even though it felt stupid, they told this to Juniper and insisted that she call the police and ask them to do a welfare check. Just as Relia had envisioned, their mother was dead from an overdose. Aurelia had had their suspicions before but now there could be now doubt--they had some sort of fucked up gift of sight. They had now accurately predicted the deaths of two of their loved ones. From there on out, Juniper helped Aurelia develop their craft and their ability
A NEW START
As the years went by, Aurelia and Juniper grew closer to the point where they really did see the mentor witch as a motherly figure. Aurelia slowly but surely let their walls down a bit and through therapy and practicing their craft, they gained some semblance of solace as they worked through their past traumas. Juniper also officially adopted them as their child when they were 16
When Aurelia was 18, they began to run with a bit of a rough crowd and got involved with the Cactus Cats biker gang. Although the group is certainly rough around the edges, the Cactus Cats have provided the witch with a further sense of belonging. On any given day, you can catch Relia riding around Las Vegas on their beloved Harley Davidson
Inspired by the lengths that her foster mother had to go to acquire ingredients for her craft, Aurelia opened up their own business at 19 and named it 'Aurelia's Trance.' They were dedicated to making their shop a safe space where they could sell ingredients for other witches, as well as provide tarot card readings
Though they have made some good friends, they like to keep to themselves a lot, still finding it difficult to trust others. In fact, it took quite a long time for them to fully trust Cyrek, someone who was now one of their closest friends and confidants
Last year, Relia finally opened themselves up to someone else and began to date Andrea Weber. However, soon after things began to get serious, Aurelia cut it off, afraid to open themselves up like that to someone again. With little to no explanation, Relia ended it and spent the next year avoiding Andrea wherever they went, unable to face her. However, the two have since reunited and started dating again
Over all, Aurelia is a very kind and caring person but they're also very closed off and do not trust others easily

Andrea sat on Aurelia's couch while the witch padded around in the kitchen, making a cup of tea for their love. It had been a few days since the couple had been able to catch up, work keeping them both busy, and Relia tried to cherish the time that they got to spend with their girlfriend. Bringing the blonde the steaming mug of black tea, they placed a small kiss on her forehead and said "Here you are, love," before joining them on the couch, their own mug in hand. Relia and Andie had only gotten back together about seven months before and the witch was eternally grateful that she had decided to give them another chance. They were determined to not screw this one up again--which is why they had a bit of a knot in their stomach about what they wanted to discuss with Andie this afternoon. But first, they figured they'd start with some small talk. "So how are the renovations coming along at the record store? Do you think they'll be opening soon-ish?"

When Relia heard the bell over the door ding, they prepared to put on their customer service voice--however, when they saw who it was, their face lit up with a bright smile. Hey there stranger, I thought I would surprise you with some lunch, I got your favourite. "Oh my god," they said, clearly surprised. This was so thoughtful. Eyes growing large at the sight of the Carnage Asada bag, they said "You're so sweet, Andie." Leaning across the counter to kiss their girlfriend, they said "I love you so much." Thankfully, it wasn't too busy in the store today--besides, people just usually perused anyway. Motioning for her to come back behind the counter, they said "I hope you got some for yourself as well, yes?" Pulling up a chair for Andrea, "Thank you so much."
The past few months had been...a journey, that was for sure. Even though that fire back in the summer had caused so much damage--it had caused physical damage to people, including Andrea; it had damaged people's reputations; it also caused damage to the gorgeous landscape of Rabbit Creek itself--it was also what had brought them to back together oddly enough. The best decision that the witch could've ever had made was swallow their pride and be honest about how they felt. Relia had let Andrea go once but they wouldn't ever be making that mistake again. "You know, I'm so lucky that you brought me this because all I had for lunch was a sad, sad granola bar," they laughed as they dug into their Mexican cuisine.

Location: Aurelia's Trance
Time: Lunchtime
Andrea had the day off thankfully, the blonde had been working her ass off the past week and almost missed Valentine's with Relia but thankful that somebody stepped in. It was a much needed day off and had already gotten quite a lot of errands done that morning since they couldn't really sleep they thought that they would get a head start on the day. Looking down at her watch, she noticed that it was almost lunchtime and an idea popped in to her head, a perfect idea.
It wasn't long until Andrea made her way to Aurelia's shop, hearing the small bell above the door ring as she opened it, trying to balance what she had in her hands. It was fairly quiet with a few people here and there. Humming to herself, she made her way up to the counter, holding the bag and drinks in her hands with a big smile on her lips. "Hey there stranger, I thought I would surprise you with some lunch, I got your favourite."
