One step at a time. Some great words not just in racing but for all areas in life. When things get tough just aim to get the next smallest step completed. . Having lost a lot of strength in my upper body and arms this last couple years, the farmers carry really tested me. Unfortunately I dropped these drums a number of times but I made it in the end. Things don't always go to plan but just keep your focus on the end goal, and get there by breaking it up into smaller chunks. . Managed 6th place in 7hrs to complete the 50km Spartan Ultra Beast. I've 60 obstacles and a couple thousand metres climbing and running down mountains. Not bad for only my 3rd Spartan race in the last 2 year's. Maybe Time for a comeback. . https://www.instagram.com/p/B5meQh_n53n/?igshid=102dvqiy662gk

Do what you do best and others will lewrn from your leadership. This week is dedicated to my clients, mentorees, and those I motivate that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @c_desousa_ Cooper just completed his first ever Spartan Beast in that hardest place Bright! Cooper stands out at my run group every Friday, committed and showing up to get his run sessions in. Naturally a good athlete from growing up playing sports at very competitive levels he crushes the group interval and Sprint sessions always helping others in the group to do their best. He managed to get a decent time at the Bright Spartan Beast coming in 3hrs25mins for his first longer distance event/run. I see lots of untapped potential and look forward to being able to help him continually on his Spartan journey. Since completing the beast a couple weeks ago in Bright he has shown up to boot camps and run group with a clear goal in mind to improve his Spartan races. And he is on his way. . In 2020 keep an eye out for this young speed demon. He will be turning heads. Keep at it mate . . https://www.instagram.com/p/B5j7lmXHXKb/?igshid=1ekgvvamsxlex

Today was an awesome finish to my week have g failed at last week's 100 miler having to drop to the 100k today was a chanc2 for me to get out and help others and not worry about my results. Great day, passing in some stories and pushing this awesome group of people through some tough individual and team efforts. Kept the morning fun and gave them all a taster for my longer 6hr+ endurance sessions. Hopefully I've lit some fires and sparked some curiosity for some even tougher challenges. Hope you all enjoyed the event as much as I did. . . Feel free to tag your mates. .. Til next time train hard. . . https://www.instagram.com/p/B5hKcuLHzD9/?igshid=1ry6xsdcesv8n

Help people conquer mountains, andonquer your own This week is dedicated to my clients and people i mentor and help that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @steve_bain_1 Up in the clouds smashing Feathertop mountain in the recent alpine challenge. It was an unbroken 1500m climb/run/hike to get here. The fist time up i passed him on my way down. The 2nd time when thises taken i was at the finish line waiting as I had dropped to the 100k event instead. . Steve has been crushing the longer distance races and events lately. I'm honoured that I invited Steve on tonuktra journey and got to coach him at some of my events over the years. Seeing people get results like this motivates me to keep pushing and inspiring people. Thanks Steve for your support and I hope I can keep helping my where possible. . https://www.instagram.com/p/B5e1npxnv2m/?igshid=1edjclno1obkg

Do your best, get results and you will inspire others to take a similar path. This week is dedicated to my clients that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @jessicaleighgould came to me after finding our Spartan based gym on Google. We had been forced to close our doors at this stage. So I instead invited her to train with my group and other clients achieving awesome results like steve @pelagic1978, Daran and a few others that race OCR. Jess joined us for a few sessions and also joined in for running. Due to her busy busy work schedule which involves frequent visits interstate Jess found it difficult to stay on track, but we had always welcomed her back to every session she could make. I passed on as many tips and advice as I could, especially leading up to bright. Jess competed in a number of races but her main race being the Bright Beast. She snagged a 2nd for her age group. Such an amazing effort considering her busy year and at times trouble in keeping to her training goals. 2020 brings new beginnings and a more strict training regime. With a bunch of new sessions available to everyone, I'm hoping Jess will be able to make her training more frequent over the next 6 months. I'm excited to see how far and fast Jess can push with some more guidance and training this coming year. Smash it Jess you got this, let's get you a national championship under your name. . . Make time for those that put in the effort. And try lead them in the beat direction you can This week is dedicated to my clients that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @ronsingh79 has had a massive year. We all have many hurdles, but Ron has been working around the clock at his employment and moving up in the ranks. On top of that he has entered 12 races 8n the last 6 months! He gets up at the crack of dawn before his work. Usually 4am and gets in his sessions.. No matter what he gets it done and puts in a good effort. We are working on new strategy now to balance out his life better. His running times have improved massively over the last 10 months after recovering from an injury in January. With a new strategy and programming on the way I can't wait to see this guy run his first 100miler next year. With a heart of gold and doing anything for his mates, meeting new people every race I can only wish him the best moving forward. Thanks for the help at the alpine challenge last weekend too Keep it up buddy. . https://www.instagram.com/p/B5XSaGaHtHU/?igshid=rwwqlst2usrh

Pass on your experience and knowledge, the world will be a better place. This week is dedicated to my clients that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @stevesnothere, Steve and I have been working together for about 7 months. Steve's goal was to race a multi stage race and build up to become a competitive Australian age group Spartan racer. Steve came to me with a strong solid strength foundation. Training mostly in CrossFit, it was clear to me he needed to improve his running speed and technique to reach his goals. This year Steve has improved his shorter distance running. With an eagerness to learn about running and how he could apply running drills to his weekly training I knew we would have some big success quickly. Steves first big challenge was running a multistage Ultra from Canberra to the Coast. By completing the schedule and programming set for him he achieved this short term goal with ease. Next big goal was to then compete at bright in the Spartan ULTRA BEAST (50km plus over 60 obstacles) one of the toughest races in Australia and longest single run he has tackled. He completed this event, the event also being a personal record for Steve, the longest event he has completed. He smashed the obstacles and came in 5th for his age group, less than 30mins behind 2nd place. The Spartan ultra at bright is one tough race, to come from basically a non running background to completing 50kms up mountains and over 60 obstacles in only a short preparation of less than 7 months is a massive accomplishment. Steve has determination rarely seen. He now has the next big goal in sight. To complete the UTA100 in May 2020 and also compete in the Australian Spartan national series. Another one I can't wait to see smash his upcoming goals and hopefully start beating me. https://www.instagram.com/p/B5T0ZDBJhbv/?igshid=yrblw69ikiq9

This year has been tough, lots of training and trying to restructure my life and business to fit everything in. . This week is dedicated to my clients that have overcome massive hurdles to achieve their goals and hit some PBs along the way. . @pelagic1978 steve and I have been working together for majority of 2019. Steve's goals was to build up to become a competitive Australia age group Spartan racer. This year Steve has improved his running in leap and bounds. With some sheer determination, focused goals and structure he went from running less than 25kms, to coming 4th in his age group national series, running his first 36km (longest) trail run, to then competing at bright a week ago and placing 2nd in the ULTRA BEAST (50km plus or 60 obstacles) one of the toughest races in Australia. No words can correctly give you the exact kick in the arse Bright Spartan gives all it's entrants. It's brutal and insanely difficult. Well done mate and top effort! Your achievements this year are amazing and your future in the sport of OCR and running look very promising. Keep it up, overcome any hurdles and continue on your journey https://www.instagram.com/p/B5R3iJ6J9rg/?igshid=1wmw8osrfryw7

It's not always easy to be motivated and on track. We ALL have our tough days where we could easily skip a workout or not stay true to our journey. Close your eyes and remember what drives you and what motivated you in the first place. Connect the dots of why this activity was scheduled in theirs place. Link the 2 together and of your eyes, now go get it done https://www.instagram.com/p/B4tsfTeH56j/?igshid=d0babbsvjqhu
