It's implied in the novels that Hua Cheng's ghost fire is red rather than the typical green. Just sharing cuz I think most people don't notice since I really really rarely see fanart where he's red instead of just the usual green.

I double checked the novels and from this point onward his color is never directly stated, but he's identifiable enough that Xie Lian is occasionally able to recognize him from other (recent) interactions even when he's grouped up among hundreds of other flames.

Another something I noticed while double checking - Compare:

Even back then, as a little ghost flame, he was already cultivating and working on making the impossible possible; it first started with the ability to make himself warm even though it's not meant to be possible, so Xie Lian is never left to lay in the cold again.
