Meiko Mochizuki has become a professor like her father when he retired, But has been chosen to work with Digimon for research. Meicoomon of course is no longer with her.. The time bonds between them had ran out during her college years. Her main goal is to figure out how to bring Human and Digimon together in harmony and stop the virus that had infected Meicoomon in the past.
Ukihada Naomi was a marine biologist with her Digimon Partner Penmon Pebble till her bond with her Digimon finished.. she was devastated.. till she also has been selected to join in the Digimon Research Team and partnered with Meiko Mochizuki... Naomi's goal is the same as Meiko's.
Sam... Is a special case for the Digimon Research Team... She's the oldest chosen child that still has her Digimon Partners... Meiko and Naomi are also assigned to figure out how and why she still has her Digimon Partners.. Not only has the bond timer hasn't shown but sadly both of her Digimon has somehow also been infected by the same Virus that has Infected Mei-Chan, but both Meiko and Naomi have invented a pill for the Infected Digimon to take that will keep them from being taken over by the virus for only a few days. When Sam was small, she was outgoing and loved making friends until she and her family had to move to a neighborhood with people that aren't used to kids like Sam's hyper, outgoing and extraverted nature... Which of course, led to her getting excluded, bullied and teased because they thought Sam's way of socializing is loud, impatient, disobedient and obnoxious.
Please bare with me, I'm not very good at writing 😭
I really want to make my fanfic, but it's hard to figure out how to make sense of it..
The conflict between Naomi and Meiko when it came to the their theories on whether that Sam should keep her Digimon Partners or not? Because on one hand Naomi believes that Sam should keep them but Meiko believes that the nature of letting them go should take course and it's theorized that the reason that Sam still has her Digimon Partners is that Sam hasn't peaked in maturity.
Naomi and Meiko having the same goal of having Digimon being accepted into the Human world..the main problem is that there's a bond limit... Naomi believes that there's a way to stop it and let Digimon should stay with their Human Partners but Meiko was told something by Mei-Chan when the bond time limit happened that deeply effected Meiko... (That part of my story I'm still figuring out)
Sam on the other hand is having a difficult time figuring out how to be apart of society with her being well...Neurodivergent.. that's right, and with the help of Luné her Labramon and Meizie her Meicoomon. Luné her Labramon, is very loyal, caring, optimistic and patient. Luné is willing to be the best caretaker for Sam, ever since they first met. As for Meizie her Meicoomon, is cautious, shy, and smart. she can be overprotective of Sam sometimes and usually goes against Luné's ideas of fun or living tasks for Sam to do.

Thing’s that makes me believed that Yameiko should be endgame. PT2
It’s been so long since I posted anything here, hasn’t it?
Well, a few days ago a 4-minute animation called “Digimon Beyond” was released and I was very excited and nostalgic watching this video. I’m a 30-year-old Brazilian and I remember watching Digimon years ago when I was a kid and seeing the original Digidestined adults is like we’ve grown up together and that’s really cool.
NOTE: I’ve had a crush on Yamato since I was a kid and seeing him grow up, playing in a band, riding a car, a motorcycle and becoming this stylish adult, only helped to keep my crush on him. Maybe one day I’ll share my Digimon story with you, if you like the idea.
But that’s not why I’m writing this text. In this video, Meiko made a very brief appearance, and even though it was a brief appearance, it made me very happy because I missed this character.
Then I was rewatching some episodes of Tri and missing Yameiko and that reminded me that I owed you part two of the text I wrote analyzing their relationship.
Well, there was nothing new, but there were some things I forgot to mention in the last text, some scenes in Tri and there was also a very interesting scene in the movie Kizuna that I needed to write this text.
So without much ado … Let’s go!
Let’s start with scenes I forgot to mention in the other post, it was in the fourth movie, in the picnic scene where Taich, Joe and Yamato are talking about Meicoomon. In the previous post I mentioned the part where Yamato gets very angry after Taich doesn’t seem confident that he can save Meicoomon, but before that, there’s a very interesting part to mention.
When the three of them are talking about Meicoomon (after she escapes from the group through the distortion) Yamato comments in a very sad way to Taich and Joe that she was crying.
The feeling I got from this scene was as if he was not only moved that she was looking for her human partner and wanted the two of them to be reunited, but as if he wanted her to be there too. It’s also interesting to see how Yamato is committed to helping the two meet again.
A curiosity at the end of the third movie before the group goes to the Digiworld, when they discover that the Meicoomon is the cause of the distortions, Yamato looks at Nishijima and asks if he knew and the teacher confirms that he knew.
This scene is somewhat curious because at that moment he shows that he doesn’t judge or get upset with Meiko for hiding it from the group, but he understands that it would be difficult for her to tell everyone, just as Takeru didn’t judge her either, having gone through something similar with Patamon.
In addition, Yamato going to make amends with Nishijima who in the same film, alongside Himekawa, had said that she would tell him everything about the case, shows that for him the one who should have told the group was not Meiko, but Nishijima or Himekawa.
Now moving on to the fifth movie, when everyone is in the cave trying to cheer up Meiko. I mentioned in the previous post about Yamato always including her as part of the group, as if she had participated with them in the adventures of the summer of 1999. But there’s a part of this conversation that made me reflect on Yamato’s behavior.
When he is breaking twigs and throwing them into the fire, he tells Meiko that being someone’s partner doesn’t always mean things will go as expected and that listening to each other is not what being a partner means. What I find curious about this scene is the way Yamato says this to her.
He speaks in a way as if that subject were very deep and meaningful to him, proof of which is that Takeru and Koshiro looks at him confused at first, but then Takeru seems to grasp the reason behind those words.
I don’t know if that was the meaning, but I’ll say what I interpreted from that scene. In some way, I think he was talking about his parents’ relationship.
The way he breaks the twigs that were once one and then throws them into the fire could represent his parents’ relationship, who were married and ended up divorcing, separating him from his brother.
For Yamato, being the older brother, the separation of their parents must have been more painful for him than for Takeru, who seems to handle the situation better.
You could also say that it’s about Taich and Yamato’s relationship, but if it was about the two of them, everyone would have understood that, not just Takeru.
And if that’s really what the scene intended to convey, it’s curious how he opened up to Meiko like that, which shows that in some way she is important to him.
Now moving on to another topic, did you notice how careful Yamato is with Meiko? I’m not referring to the times he saved her life, or the times he cared about her feelings, but to the careful way he always holds her and keeps her close to him. I’m talking about physical contact.
For example, in the fifth movie, in the final fight when he holds her after Meiko runs away from the group. When that incident with Jesmon’s attack happens and the ground starts to break apart, he holds her very close to him.
When Omegamon is protecting Meiko and Yamato and the accident with Taichi and Nishijima happens, raising a cloud of dust, Yamato also pulls her to protect her.
I think it’s funny how she approaches him when the dust is getting closer, as if she feels safe around him.
After the dust settles and Omegamon returns to being Koromon and Tsunomon, Yamato helps Meiko up and holds her in his arms for a good while.
After Yamato’s speech and the two join the group, he helps Meiko cross the crack caused by Jesmon’s attack.
Physical contact is something very intimate, especially in Japan. And not everyone had that physical contact with Meiko, and I know the situation was life or death, but watching the scenes also shows that Yamato is careful with her. In the last movie, when Meiko enters the water very angry because Meicoomon hasn’t returned to its original form since they were bringing Ordinemon back, after Tailmon was freed. Yamato is right behind her, preventing her from moving forward.
This caught my attention because Hikari went to the water to fetch Tailmon moments before and he did nothing, he let her go, but when it was Meiko, he followed her. I know that when Hikari went to get Tailmon, apparently Ordinemon seemed defeated, yet it still didn’t seem safe around, proof of this being that when it was Meiko’s turn, something was about to happen to Ordinemon. I really love this scene because Yamato is always nearby to protect her, and I think it’s funny that when he holds her, trying to stop her from continuing to walk, she pulls her arm away and looks at him angrily as if asking him not to stop her.
Now let’s move on to the Kizuna Movie. When the movie came out, I thought there wouldn’t be anything about Meiko, since Tri wasn’t very well received by some fans. But I was mistaken, there was a scene and it was quite interesting about Yameiko. In the final battle, Taich and Yamato are seeing their friends who were captured by Eosmon. Taich says the names Hikari, Mimi, and Koshiro, and Yamato recognizes Takeru, Joe, and Meiko saying their names.
This scene might go unnoticed, but when you pay closer attention, you’ll notice some very interesting details.
If you notice, all these people have some connection with the ones who said their names. Takeru, obviously, is Yamato’s younger brother, Joe and Yamato are friends, and we have that episode where Joe is a key piece for the Crest of Friendship to be activated and Gabumon to evolve into WereGarurumon for the first time.
So following this line of reasoning… why did Yamato say Meiko’s name? Well, I think this post already answers that question, doesn’t it? And I find it curious how, after all these years, he still shows concern for her, just like he did in Tri. This just shows the genuine feelings that Yamato has for her. A random curiosity! Did you notice that in the movie Kizuna, when Taichi and Yamato are at the bar and a girl faints at the table near them, the voices of the characters were the Japanese voice actresses of Meiko and Meicoomon?
I couldn’t find anything about this topic besides a few posts here on Tumblr a long time ago , but apparently, they wanted Meiko and Meicoomon to appear somehow in this movie, but somehow the plans changed and we only got that small scene of her in the final battle and her voice actresses voicing random characters at the beginning of the movie. I really wanted to see more of these two characters (Meiko and Meicoomon), I like them a lot and I think they deserved much more than they got. And I’ve already seen that there are many fans who also don’t like them, and I wanted them to have a moment to change that and show their worth.
I also wanted to show that if they want to invest in this couple (Yamato and Meiko) they can do it because they have the structure, chemistry and potential to develop.
And even if they don’t, I want to put on record that the possibility existed.
Well, that’s it, folks! I hope you liked it. I was seeing the feedback of my post about Yameiko and first i really wanted to thank everyone who reblogged, commented and interacted with me and for all the affection they had with me and for my analysis.
If you’d like me to do any more Digimon Adventure reviews, I’d be happy to do them for you all.
See you next time and for those of you who like Yameiko, please keep posting about them. They can’t be forgotten.

I think he was 19. So would have been out of highschool
i think whoever wrote this wikimon page had into something i was thinking about by myself now that i watched it again and carefully.
and yeah, really, i don't think ANYTHING was "retconned", please remember Kakudou *never* "retconned" the events of the first two Advverse movies either. 02 also uses Miyako's backstory featured in OWG, mentions Omegamon vs Diablomon from the same movie and also *shows* Omegamon in ep 27.
so really, can this fandom stop trying to invalidate this or that once again. it's ok to dislike and disown things if you want, but please don't imply it was "officially" ignored/"retconned" this pisses me off.

I would like to also add that they made Meiko‘s design pretty much exactly as it was in tri.. Her face doesn’t match the other character designs at all in my opinion.
And in at the group shot at the end, you can see some international children and I think some seed kids as well.
Also, Joe’s brothers look exactly the same as they did in 02.
people are still doubting those legs being Rui-kun and i'm here like
"guys guys WHO ELSE IN THIS ENTIRE ADVVERSE HAD BEEN WEARING BLACK FROM HEAD TO TOE, LEGGINGS UNDER SHORTS AND WITH A LONGCOAT?!"
