Railroad Bolts & Clips Ordering Guide

RAILROAD BOLTS

North American Rail Products can supply the railroad industry with track bolts, hook bolts, hex bolts, oval neck bolts, diamond neck bolts and square head bolts. We sell these various types of bolts new only. Specialty fasteners are also available upon request. To order bolts, indicate the types of bolt needed and include the required lengths and diameters. Refer to the Track Fasteners Chart below.

CRANE RAIL

Crane Rails are used on tramways or light rail operations.

They are generally used to carry heavy loads at relatively slow speeds. It is similar to Tee Rail but has a thicker web and larger head. If you operate a tramway operation or light rail transit (LRT) operation, as is the case in many metro areas, crane rails are often the preferred rail type to ensure your track continues to run smoothly. NARP’s inventory includes various sizes of crane rail.

Tee Rail Ordering Guide

TEE RAIL

Tee Rails are classified by pounds per yard. We have an inventory on a variety of tee rails. We sell Tee Rail per piece, per foot or per net ton. While we sell new Tee Rail, we also have a variety of good quality Relay Rail, available, we can also handle scrap rail processing.

WHEN ORDERING TEE RAIL

When ordering Tee Rail, these specifications first need to be determined:

Weight (lbs. per yard)

Section Designation (ASCE, ARA-A, AREA…)

Lengths needed Drilling Pattern – Drilling and Bolt Hole Size

The total length of rail required and a specific number of lengths required

The number of pairs of matching joint bars needed

A list of accessories that may be needed

Identify special drilling or cuts required

By referring to the dimensional diagrams shown here, the weight and type of most rail can be identified.
