Rules

1. There is a 3,000 minimum word count for any submission. 2. Your submission must be a complete work and must fit the brief of the prompt, including to keep in mind giftee squicks and hard nos. 3. All gift receivers MUST respond with a comment and a kudos to their gift fic by the scheduled deadline. Those who do not will be severely penalized in the server with two strikes and be banned from further events. 4. If you have to drop out, you must inform the moderators of our server as soon as possible. 5. You must gift your fic to your gifted on AO3. If it will not allow you, please contact the mods directly and we will ensure that your giftee turns their gifts on. 6. All fics must be correctly tagged with their content warnings. 7. Your fic must align with the prompt received. No going off grid on this one. 8. You must be a part of the Rutag Discord Server which is linked here to ensure we can contact you with updates as needed. Please also ensure you check your DMs regularly.

FAQ

How does this collection work? This is a traditional fic exchange: you submit a song prompt that you'd like written for you, and in exchange you receive someone else's song prompt to write for them!

Does my prompt have to be summer themed? Nope! You can submit whatever song you want for the exchange. If it's summer themed, great! If it's not, also great!

What is the minimum word requirement for this collection? There is a 3,000 minimum word count for this collection, to ensure that everyone receives a gift of a certain length.

Does my fic need to be complete? Your fic does need to be complete at the time of submission. It must be over the mandatory word count and fit the brief of the prompt. If you think you'd like to continue your one shot into something larger, mark it as a series to be continued later!

How do I ensure that I can receive gifts on AO3? Click this link to be redirected to AO3 for instructions.

What if I don't think I can participate but find out later that I could have? Happens to the best of us! If you miss the sign up window but want a chance to participate, you can always sign up to pinch hit!

Why is it required to leave a comment or kudos on my gift? This is a courtesy and we make it a required part of the event so that all writers get the appreciation they deserve. We recommend all take their time with the comment as your gifter spent a lot of time on your gift. Because this is a vital part of the process and honestly one of the most important parts, it is required to be completed by a scheduled date.
