For my self portrait I will be painting this school picture I had taken while in middle school.
These are the brush strokes I will be using because I want to be able to paint with precision especially when it comes to the eyes and nose mouth area I want to be able to draw these with great detail

These are the colors I will be using. I will be mixing the Portriat Pink along with the Burnt Sienna with a dab of red and Brilliant Magenta and Bronze to create a color for the lips because I couldnt find a color that could match it. I’m interested to see how the mixture will turn out.

Born in 1901 in Knoxville Tennessee Beauford Delaney was one of 10 children only 3 of whom will survive until adulthood. Life in the Tennessee was even more difficult at the time for young black men. Slavery was a not so distant memory. Racism is supported by law. And Beauford was a witsness to the the violence.
On August’s 30th 1919 the events Red Summer caused a teenage Beauford to harbor dreams of a a retreat out of the south.
In the meantime he illustrated those dreams with a paint brush and his canvas
He begins to the peak the interests of the many patrons excited about his work. The Impressionist Lloyd Bransson takes him Beauford under his wing and in 1923 Bransson funded Beaufors move to Boston Massachusetts. Beauford will go on to be remembered as a modernist painter for his work in respects to the Harlem Renaissance in the 1930s and 1940s as well as his latest works in abstract expressionism in the 1950s following his move to Paris where he passed away in 1979.

This is really cool ! I like the detail you put into the water dropelet. I think you challenged yourself with this, trying to draw water and make it look in motion is a very difficult task but you took on that challenge very well. I wonder, what was the most difficult part about this project for you ?

Her choice of color stuck out to me as well when I was going over the slideshow. I love the vibrancy of the colors and the unconventional shapes she used what stood out out to me was how she works with the color to make the peice look like it’s glowing.

Sascha Braunig
Okay so before I get into my painting, I wanted to show my main inspiration and where I will be going with my painting. After reading the presentation, this particular artist struck my interest the most. Mainly because of her choice of color. Her subjects are unconventional yes but the use of color gives her subjects a new out of this world feeling. Almost like a intergalactic disco. I look forward to seeing where this simple flower photograph will take me. I plan to have loads of fun with color with this one!

These pictures you picked are interesting, especially the one with the flower. I think that one is my favorite and I can’t wait to see what you do with these

Here are some photos that I came across that struck my eye.

Can’t wait to see the finished result, looks good so far !

So far... my discord was done with red and a darker tone orange. With the paint I have this was as close as I could get the colors to being the same tone of gray🤩 also red and darker green ended up being the same gray. The rest of my shapes might just be random colors I can think of.
